Dear Street Team Member,

As a Street Team member with our team, you will become involved in a number of diverse tasks, in several departments. Without the use of our Street Team members the level of publicity and promotion we undertake would not be possible.

Please take a few minutes to read this Street Team Handbook. It has been designed to better acquaint you with the Seattle Thunderbirds Street Team. We hope that we can meet your needs as well as our own.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the T-Birds Street Team. We know that you provide us with precious publicity and promotion of the team. Therefore, we want to let you know how much we appreciate your contribution to our organization.

APPLICATION:

Please complete the application form so we have your pertinent contact information, as well as background information. We would like this information so that we can know more about our Street Team members and where they might have areas of expertise that could be beneficial to the team. If you sign up for a event on the website and we do not have this information, we will get in touch with you to gather it.

HOURS:

A copy of the Street Team Hours Report is also included in the Appendix. It is imperative that Street Team member’s hours are documented. Throughout the duration of the year it is the Seattle Thunderbirds responsibility to total the number of hours for each Street Team member. If you would like to track your hours as well you can use the form below.

RECOGNITION:

The Seattle Thunderbirds have a rewards based program in place which allows the Street Team member to select their reward. These rewards range anywhere from team signed merchandise to a suite night at a T-Birds game during the 2015-16 season.

RECRUITMENT:

Street Team recruitment for the team is conducted by word of mouth, newsletters, team social media channels and website posting on .

SELECTION:

Any T-Bird fan over 18-years-old is eligible to become a member of the Street Team. They can fill out the application below or just sign-up online. If you sign-up online we will get in touch with you to get some of the information asked for below.

RETENTION PROCEDURES:

A Street Team member remains as long as he or she is pleased with his or her assignment, and the staff is pleased with the volunteer’s work and ethics.

SUPERVISION:

The Street Team Coordinators stay in contact with the Street Team member via email, phone or personal visits at events.

INSERVICE TRAINING:

The Street Team members are trained by a T-Birds employee or intern. Training will be given for first time Street Team members at the first event they attend.

EVALUATION PROCESS:

All Street Team members will be given the chance to fill out an evaluation form regarding the Street Team and the events the Street Team attended.

TRANSPORTATION:

We ask that all Street Team Members have their own transportation to get to the summer events. We cannot transport members to events.

AGE OF MEMBERS:

The minimum age for a Street Team Member is 18-years-old.

Street Team Point System

Reward system: For every hour spent at a T-Birds Street Team event, the Street Team member receives a point. Points accumulate over the course of the summer. After Labor Day the Street Team member can redeem the points for the T-Birds prizes listed below.

10. Pts: 2 Tickets to a T-Birds preseason game

20. Pts: Autographed picture of favorite player

30 Pts: Team autographed hockey stick

40 Pts: $150 T-Birds Gift Certificate

65 Pts: Suite Night for T-Birds game during 2015-16 season. (Suite night mutually agreed upon by team and Street Team member and based on availability)

Recording points: The T-Birds will keep track at the events of points earned by Street Team members. These points will be updated on the Street Team website.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICES

Whereas, The Seattle Thunderbirds through its operations of Community and Public Relations host several events which require assistance.

NOW, THEREFORE,

1) I am 16 years of age or older, or if I am younger than 16 years of age, my parent or guardian consents to terms of this release and waiver of liability and is also executing this agreement.

2) That by virtue of providing volunteer services in the work, (a) I am not entitled to any Thunderbirds benefits, whether under health benefits, pension plans, Washington unemployment compensation or worker’s compensation statues, and (b) I am not an employee of the Seattle Thunderbirds.

3) I hereby hold harmless and release the Seattle Thunderbirds, its officers, agents, owners and employees, from any and all liability, claims, suits or damages, including death, which may be sustained by, or result from, my involvement in the work.
