Place TBD.Waiting for Chief to assign an officer for the event, and can then register with the DEA to have the event.Need to get the word out to the community:Perhaps stuff/staple a small paper advertisement in the bags from local pharmacy.Put info in the Herald, at Giant Eagle pharmacy, library, church bulletins.Contact Chamber of Commerce (Jessica Vukmir).Reverse 911 reminder to call to local residents.Need some board members to staff the event too. Self-Defense Class: Tentative date July 22 or 29, 2017 with Young Brothers Tae Kwon-Do.Discussion had re: having a women and girls class (inside the studio) vs. family class (outdoors). ?Plan to initially have it for women/girls only.Owner thinks her place is considered a ‘safe haven,’ a place where kids can come to stay if their parents aren’t home. ?ANW will not endorse, and let the owner handle it.Owner is open to doing a self-defense class quarterly.Perhaps will tie event with a local restaurant, such as a discount if they go to the self-defense class.Will consider having the class in September instead of July due to ANW’s NNO event August 1, 2017.ANW BrandingDiscussed using the green circle ANW logo in the top-center of the template on all of our communication (i.e., minutes, board reports, letters) in order to make it more formal and professional.Suggestion made to have a footer at the bottom of the template.Plan to bring some examples to the next meeting.?RECRUITMENT/SOUP…………………....………………………..………....RACHEL BORLANDReport on March soup delivery: 4-5 households, every other Thursday. ?Current list is up to 22 people.Containers, crackers and ingredients have been ordered by Rachel, costing $30-40.Local restaurants have not donated items to the cause.Might need to adjust frequency based on weather, need.A local resident has been helping make desserts as part of her service project.ANW Bike Safety event is set for Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 9am-12pm on Commercial Ave. Golden Triangle Bike sponsoring. ?Officer Nemec assisting.?COMMUNICATIONS………………….………………………………………...…..CONNIE PIZOLINew ANW calendar is now available on Google Drive.Add possible events in the Notes column until approved/verified.Green Streets update: Saturday April 22 from 10a-12n clean-up, 12n-2p for entertainment (weather permitting).
