15. Regarding UNEP FI’s twofold focus when it comes to Water & Finance:

▪ The ‘Water Supply’ Challenge consists in increasing the flow of funds into the "water sector" (water/sanitation-infrastructure, -services, -technologies, -utilities) in an ESG-inclusive manner in order to support the achievement of the MDG Drinking Water and Sanitation Target. This target consists

"in halving, by 2015, the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation."

▪ The ‘Water Use’ Challenge consists in mainstreaming water considerations into risk/opportunity assessment and due diligence processes of financial institutions in the context of water-exposed businesses (borrowers/investees) "downstream".

Which side of the Water & Finance challenge is more relevant for your financial institution?

| The ‘Water Supply’ Challenge | The ‘Water Use’ Challenge | Both equally | Both are of zero relevance |
