Youth Ministries Postponed

Due to concerns about the recent increase of local COVID cases, our Administrative Elders have decided to postpone the beginning of all of Immanuel's youth ministries until a later date - which is still be to be determined.  This includes all of our Sunday School, Catechism, Cadets, GEMS, Rooted, and Crossroads activities.

We will be sending out more information and updates as they become available, and will do our best to keep you as informed as possible.

Also, if you were considering volunteering in any of these ministries - please continue to prayerfully consider if that is an opportunity for you to serve.

Immanuel Circle

Our first meeting is this Wednesday, September 23rd in the Adult Ed Room at 7PM.  We will continue our study of Ruth starting with Lesson 23 in our book called "Cultivating a Life of Character".  In November we will begin our study of "Experiencing God's Peace" found in Philippians.  Looking forward to seeing all of you and studying God's Word together.  If you have questions, please call Wanda Schut (669-1989).

Women’s Bible Study

Hoping for Something Better

"God had planned something better for us... "

Hebrews 11:40

Many people live with a simmering sense of disappointment with life, with their own walk of faith, and with God. Doubts about whether or not Jesus is the only way to know God in a culture where his distinctives have become fuzzy and where radical discipleship is becoming costly only add to our discontent. The book of Hebrews was written to such people—people who needed to see clearly what makes Jesus worthy of our worship, worthy of our vigorous pursuit, worthy of our very lives.

Hoping for Something Better by Nancy Guthrie is an in-depth, understandable and practical Bible study of the book of Hebrews for the modern heart and mind.  In the end, readers will more fully grasp the person of Jesus Christ, what he has done for us, and why we should invest our lives in drawing near to him.

This will be a 11-session study with a chapter to read and study questions to complete. There is no video teaching as part of the study. We will be meeting every other Thursday at 9-10:30AM beginning on October 1. Please contact Evamarie Eggebeen if you are interested in joining: eeggebeen@ or 616-914-5629

Scheduled Dates:

October 1, 15, 29

November 5 (*note only 1-week gap here from 10/29), 19

December 3, 17

January 7, 21

February 4, 18

Everyone will be purchasing their own book in preparation for the study.  You can get it used or new depending on your preference.  It is available on many websites including , amazon, , and many more (just google it!).

Evamarie will have study guide/homework questions printed for everyone.

Flu Shot Clinic – October 7

We will have a flu shot clinic on Wednesday, October 7, from 4-7PM. Anyone 4 years (note change this year) and older are eligible; insurance is accepted. Look for the poster in the FLC foyer to sign up; walk-ins are also welcome.
