WELCOME TO IMMANUEL!

We’re glad that you joined us today, and we pray that you will encounter God through prayer, worship, and his word.

Guest mailboxes are located after the alphabetical list of members. Please pick up this information if you would like details on Immanuel’s ministries.

This morning Pastor Tom Swieringa will lead us in worship as we begin a new series of messages around the theme of DOWNPOUR.

The prophet Hosea brought this invitation and promise to God’s people who were walking through a spiritual drought: “Come, let us return to the LORD . . . . Let us press on to acknowledge him . . . . He will come to us like the rain!” Hosea 6:1-3

This series of messages is about getting caught up in a new kind of downpour, a soaking downpour of God’s Holy Spirit for your walk with Him. Our goal? God, at the center of our lives, experienced and enjoyed!

REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS

Help us help the UP!

Request from Georgetown CRC -

Feeding America (one of our ministry partners) has alerted us to an urgent need in the UP; the need is for “dry out and clean up” supplies in light of recent rains that have devastated parts of the Upper Peninsula. FEMA is assessing the Western UP after severe flooding this past week. Over 65 sinkholes throughout the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan is affecting transportation throughout the area. Governor Snyder has already declared a state of emergency.

In addition to sending two trucks per week with food to the UP, Feeding America will be sending clean up supplies on board their trucks. In light of this, during the month of July, we will be collecting the items listed below.

• Dehumidifiers

• Fans

• Garden Hoses

• Extension Cords

• Mops

• Buckets

• Masks

• Goggles

• Work gloves

• Heavy Duty Garbage Bags

• Tarps

• Sanitizer

• Liquid dish soap

• Bug Repellant

• Commercial food supplies for Volunteer Meals

Shopping carts will be available in the gathering area for the month of July.  During the week, we will have shopping carts near the church office for drop-offs.  Bulk quantities will go to the garage at Micah’s house (our outreach house at the end of our main entrance).

If you have any questions, please email outreach@.

Calvinist Cadet Corps Job Opening The Calvinist Cadet Corps is looking for a marketing and promotions coordinator. A part-time role, based in the Cadet office in Grand Rapids, the position will entail helping the Cadet organization reach more boys across North America. From social media to printed media, from helping churches grow their clubs to finding churches that can start a club, the job is ideal for someone passionate about the need for boys to have Christian mentors, helping them grow into Christian men.

Bethany’s refugee foster care program is currently in need of male mentors for the young men in our program who need an additional supportive adult in their lives. Mentoring is a one-year volunteer commitment for a minimum of 4 hours per month. The primary goal of mentoring is to become a friend to a refugee teen by encouraging their interests and hobbies, exploring their community with them, and helping them feel welcome and accepted in the United States. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Joey Hulst at jhulst@.

On September 6, 2018, the Bible League Volunteers are hosting their fall retreat. You will be enriched with spiritual encouragement, joyful fellowship, worship, and entertainment. To give you an opportunity to partner in the Great Commission, an offering will be taken for ministry in Latin America.[pic]
