TITLE: Senior Accountant/Accounts Payable Manager LAST REVISED: June 17, 2016REPORTS TO: Director of Finance PURPOSE OF POSITION:The primary purpose of your job position is to administer and perform all general ledger functions to the facilities in accordance with current acceptable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long term care operation and as may be directed by the Sr. VP for FinanceROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY:Provide support and guidance for Accounts Payable clerks.Maintain monthly itemizations of specific GL accounts of all companies specified by auditors.Prepare monthly bank reports as required for certain banking stipulations.Work with auditors on annual audit, assisting as needed.Review, prepare, and post monthly journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.Reconcile monthly bank statements for assigned facilities.Prepare monthly financial statements in a timely and accurate manner.Reconcile AR, AP, and Prepaid accounts monthly.Maintain Resident Security deposit accounts.Renew HUD contracts and handle HUD rate increases yearly or as contracts expire.Be willing to assist any employee in the Business Office in times of need.Other functions as requested by Director of Finance or Sr. VP for Finance.KEY STRENGTHS AND REQUIREMNTS:Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet.Must be flexible in willingness and ability to work beyond normal duty hours, including weekends, and in other situations as needed to meet the requirements of Magnolia Manor residents.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Must possess a minimum, of a Bachelor degree in Accounting or business relevant degree. Preferably a Master’s degree Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Bookkeeping or accounting practicesStrong financial accounting skills and knowledge of current accounting issues and pronouncements.Knowledgeable of computers, calculators, system applications, and other office equipment. ................
