Project Control department is focal point of contact between corporate office and Business Unit of each developments. Our responsibility is to monitor, control, coordinate with development dept. & consultants to gather all sort of information to develop executive reports, integration, follow up of critical issues, develop cost to complete model for the restructured AED 25+ Bn projects and future projects which are under studies , prepare cash flow, review budget for prevailing contracts and for 5 years, assist development unit for schedule developments and review program of works, cost review, coordination with external authority such as RERA and JAFZA for company business requirements. I have been assigned to work as Senior Planning and Cost Control Engineer for Veneto, Omran, waterfront city and Badrah projects which are part of the waterfront developments around Palm Jebel Ali. Veneto consists of 1400 villas and town houses and Badrah consist of 1042 residential units (8 multistoried Buildings) and town houses. I have been appointed to work for their prestigious Palm City project in Tripoli – Libya as Senior Planner. Responsibilities to plan and prepare / maintain / update Master schedules and tender schedules for multi-contract multi-site project to support project management & construction team. Prepare and maintain monthly cash flow program. Coordinate & collect information from third party consultants & contractors & prepare weekly, monthly reports. Participate in detailed review for approval of contractor’s method statement, estimates as to budget, contract & schedules. Support project team in claims avoidance & claims management. Responsibilities (With J&P)

Obtain official/true copies of Contract, drawings & its Attachments; collect all the documents (tender calculations included) and the information on all the preparatory activities of the tender that are relevant to the Project. Study all documents mentioned. Prepare master schedules, budgets, method statements and Meetings with Project/ Site Manager and other Engineers. Visit the area of the Site, identify any particular problems related to the Contract and establish:

• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) /Work Packages, Levels of the Activities Codes for summarization. Cost Code System in P3 software, preparing the List of Activities according to the WBS and Activity Codes Structures. Defining of Method Statement and Filling up of the “Planning an Activity (PAA)” Form for each activity, analyzing each activity. Quantities take-off, assigning /Loading resources (Labor, Plant & Materials) to P3. Defining predecessors and successors. Weighting factor. Prepare Resource requirement list.

• Submission of Construction, Engineering & procurement Programme to Project Manager for review. Submission of Project Manager’s remarks and incorporate in Construction Programme and distribution to other Departments and Management. Keeping track of all relevant information for each activity (Actual Start and Finish Dates, Percent Complete and/or Remaining Duration).

• Updating of Construction schedules and re-scheduling. Suggestion of corrective measures for the remaining part of Project and comments on changes in Manpower and Plants requirements to achieve the Target Project. Corrective measures on remaining part of the Network, if it is necessary. Provide cost status and resources requirements, histograms, s-curves, breakdown factors, method statement and any details as and when require.

• Prepare Summary of all projects cost reports and detailed cost report of the each project. Prepare S-curves against planned cost and actual cost, provide details of budget remaining and forecast additional budget require. Assist in cash flow diagrams and input for estimation and subcontractor tender prices. Review of subcontractors tender documents. Assist in preparation of method statement of the construction works.

• Coordinate with client & subcontractors for schedule of work / variation & any other problems associated within the contractual obligations. Prepare & obtain approval of Valuation of works and clearance certificate.

• Prepare site investigation report to assist estimating and tendering department as and when required.

• Prepare detailed monthly reports with SPI & CPI which reflect overall view of the projects for internal review and for client use, coordinate with client for submissions, approvals and problem solving.

January 2000 to April 2000 for short term project with Costain Consultancy services, Abu Dhabi Division, UAE, as Project Engineer – Planning & Construction. Costain is U. K based leading EPC Company for Oil & Gas.

The project consists of Revamping of fire fighting system at AL-Ruwais and Umm Al Naar refineries.

• Responsibility to planning, scheduling, supervision & follow up all civil works and liaison for electrical works, liaise with client Tyco F&S and Adnoc various section to clear relevant work permits & NOC, prepare schedules, daily reports, allocation of resources and obtain Valuation of the work. September 1997 to September 1999 as Civil Engineer with MidMac Contracting, Doha-Qatar for their prestigious Oil & Gas projects (Pipeline facilities, equipment shelters, hangers, office buildings, substation & transformer buildings, concrete tanks, concrete bridges, infrastructures and road works) & 25 Storied Ritz Carlton 5 Star hotel Project. – Value 200 Mn QR
