JOB TITLE: Risk AnalystDATE COMPLETED: Sep 2018DEPARTMENT : Risk TITLE OF JOB HOLDER’S MANAGER: Market Risk, Operational Risk and Risk Oversight ManagerORGANISATION PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION? One of the key roles for the successful applicant is the oversight of the evolution and management of credit risk. Risk Analyst is responsible for analysing credit risk exposure which involves conducting analysis to mitigate credit risk, create and monitor credit policy. In addition, this position will be responsible for monitoring credit performance by retail, fleet and wholesale and taking initiatives to raise queries with Management. The applicant will be required to ensure risk reporting is made accurately and in line with deadline. Work in partnership with Finance, Accounting and other areas of Credit Risks, furthermore this role will require close contact with the HQ of BPF, SCF, SCUK and San UK.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Risk Control function:Obtain, calculate the monthly Risk KPIs (outstanding, delinquency, provisions, write-offs, recoveries, VMG and LLP) and ensure monthly reporting produced in line with deadlines. Liaise with the Collections and relevant risk areas for additional information and consistency.Assists in IFRS9 provisioning as follows:Reconciliation between FDS, BRC;Consistency check of the provision calculation;Calculation of the post model adjustments;Reconciliation with Accounting (Local and central teams).Upload risk information in the consolidated system (MIS) on a monthly basis and perform checks to ensure accuracy.Perform monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual risk report to the relevant stakeholders such as Accounting, Collections, relevant other risk areas, additionally to HQ of BPF, SC, SCUK or SAN UK.Analyse the performance of the KPIs, identify the gaps against budget and forecast.Perform checks on the quality of the data, investigate and reconcile discrepancies.Proactively monitor and report relevant changes in trends and portfolio performance.Perform monthly forecast in liaison with Financial Control and relevant areas.Maintenance of the EUCs related to Risk Control (templates, databases, excel files).Represent PSAF at the regularly calls, meetings related to Risk Control. Remediation of issues with HQs.Provide inputs and / or assistance for RIA Risk Performance and Risk Appetite Metrics related to Credit Risk.Provide support to all Risk related activities as required by the CRO and the Manager.Provide support in the preparation of the monthly Market Risk reports.Assist the Manager in preparing reports to the Risk Committee.Assist in the creation, maintenance and monitoring of risk policies.PRINCIPAL CONTACTS / WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Main relationships are with the local senior management team from any department as well as HQ of BPF, SC, SCUK and SAN UK.Regulators, internal and external auditors.These relationships will involve working on requests for information on various subjects and giving timely and accurate feedback / reporting on those requests which will be used to help advise and influence the decision making process on whatever subjects are requested. Supervision received.The direct report is to the Market, Operational and Oversight Risk Manager even though many parts of this role are carried out without direct supervision. PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES/DIFFICULTIES Many of the queries that arise in this role are not routine and the answers might have to be uncovered using multiple data sources and various data handling tools. These include Business Objects and Excel.Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the function and seek to improve. Investigate research, implement and recommend new approaches and techniques and keep abreast of a changing environment, ensuring industry best practice is applied.
