However, no action may be taken upon a matter raised under public comment period unless the matter itself has been specifically included on an agenda as an action item.)No public comment.Welcoming Remarks Senator Valerie Wiener (Ret.), ChairSenator Wiener welcomed the Task Force on Alzheimer’s Disease (TFAD).Approval of March 9, 2018, Meeting Minutes (For Possible Action)Senator Valerie Wiener (Ret.), ChairMarch 9, 2018 Meeting Minutes not available for approval at this time. Item will be moved to next agenda for approval. Behaviorally Complex Care Program (BCCP) Training Exploration Update Dr. Peter Reed, Director, Sanford Center for AgingDr. Peter Reed gave a brief update on the progress of the work group. They will be launching a survey for providers to determine what programs they use to train their staff on Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of Dementia. Dr. Reed requested staff support from ADSD to assist the work group in scheduling phone meetings and creating agendas, as well as compiling meeting minutes. Jill Berntson offered services from Elizabeth Quintero for this task. Dr. Reed will be working with Elizabeth to coordinate work group meetings and have an update ready for the Task Force at the next meeting.Update and Possible Recommendations on TFAD State Plan on Recommendations #1, #2 and #9 Niki Rubarth, Regional Director Alzheimer's Association Niki Rubarth requested that State Plan Recommendation #1 include language about Nevada 211, stated in the first sentence where other resources are listed. Wendy Simons made motion to approve State Plan Recommendation #1 with these changes. Dr. Peter Reed seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.For State Plan Recommendation #2, Ms. Rubarth stated she would like to re-work the language. Also, for Recommendation #9 she would like to update numbers/statistics. Ms. Rubarth will submit modifications in writing prior to next TFAD meeting to give members time to review changes.Wendy Simons made a motion to move Recommendation #2 and Recommendation #9 to the next meeting for final action. LeeAnn Mandarino seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Update and Possible Recommendations on Dementia Friendly Nevada (For Possible Action)Jeff Doucet, Management Analyst III,Aging and Disability Services Jeff Doucet gave a brief update regarding the goals for Dementia Friendly Nevada. New funding was recently approved, which will provide options for expanding Dementia Friendly Nevada. See attached handout for details. Presentation on the Nevada State Program Reporting Data Regarding Discussion and Approval of TFAD State Plan Recommendation #8.Jeff Doucet, Management Analyst III,Aging and Disability Services Jeff Doucet presented data on caregivers and cognitive Impairment including State Program Report Data. He suggested that rather than presenting testimony at the next TFAD meeting, he could submit update reports to members.He could request to be put on agenda for discussion, as needed. This suggestion was accepted and agreed upon by the Task Force.IX.Discuss, Consider, and Approve Possible New Recommendations for the 2019 TFAD State Plan (For Possible Action) Senator Valerie Wiener (Ret.), ChairBehaviorally Complex Care ProgramAPRN’s- Financial Support for Education Legal Education and DementiaThe Task Force agreed to have this full agenda item moved to next meeting for final action.
