Getting Started

My wife and I started looking for senior housing in 2002. We owned a tri-level, five bedroom home and I was recovering from heart surgery. We could no longer handle the stairs and the house was too large to take care of. Mary’s parents had retired to a multi-level of care facility in Jackson, Michigan so we had some experience with this type of facility. There was a little information on the Internet and we began our search. We looked at senior communities located near our children but could not find an arrangement we liked and that matched our ability to pay. We visited facilities in Traverse City, Saginaw, Novi, Jenison and Grand Rapids. We found a senior facility in Grand Rapids and decided to buy into it. We are happy here, but I wish I had known then the help that is available now. The purpose of this presentation is to provide information regarding “Making The Next Step!”
