xiv. Objetivos:
Se ofrece al estudiante el marco teórico introductorio al análisis sintáctico de las oraciones inglesas, desde una perspectiva ecléctica y comprensiva, para que el alumnado descubra a partir de ejercicios prácticos las unidades sintácticas intraoracionales, así como los roles semánticos que les son propios.
xv. Competencias y destrezas a alcanzar por el alumno:
Al final del curso, el alumno tendrá que haber alcanzado el conocimiento teórico de la estructura básica oracional que le permita identificar, describir y explicar las unidades sintácticas presentadas en el programa.

Se presenta al estudiante una descripción sistemática del inglés contemporáneo teórico-práctica a nivel sintáctico que tendrá su continuación en otra materia: Prácticas de Gramática Inglesa II.

Presentación de teoría y práctica en clase a través de resúmenes y ejercicios prácticos elaborados por el profesor, complementados por lectura obligatoria de manual y otras fuentes que se consideren pertinentes para cubrir los objetivos del curso.

Habrá un examen final consistente en:
(a) Comentario teórico sobre un punto gramatical del programa, a elegir entre dos opciones presentadas.
b) Breves comentarios gramaticales sobre oraciones y frases concretas.
c) Análisis sintáctico de oraciones y unidades oracionales.
