Parts of Speech Project: Grammar Scrapbook about YOU! Date Assigned: October 20, 2012Name: ______________________________ Block: ___ Due Date: Friday, November 2, 2012Purpose: To use the parts of speech to communicate information about yourself in scrapbook form. Overview: Your scrapbook will have several sections. Each section will have certain requirements that must fulfill. Please read each section carefully. Total project is 100 points.Presentation Format: You can create a traditional scrapbook or you may create a digital scrapbook by using Microsoft Word or Apple’s Pages or poster. You could use a combination of formats too. Make sure your format is visual, fun and fulfills the requirements of the project completely. *Noun Section Requirements: What people, places, things, or concepts are important to you or show something about your life?For each noun, explain why you chose it. In other words, what does the noun reveal about you? This can be done in one or two sentences for each noun, and it may be typed or hand written. The scrapbook must have the following nouns:Concrete Noun (10 pictures) - Show ten things that are important to you or show something about who you are. Remember concrete nouns register on your five senses. You can see , hear , smell, taste and feel them. Collective Noun (4 pictures) – What is a collective noun of which you are a member?Examples of collective nouns: family, school, team, group, church …etc. Proper Noun (5 pictures) – Five people, places or things that are proper nouns that you especially like. Abstract Noun (5 pictures) – Five things or character traits that you find to be the most important either in yourself or others. Examples of abstract nouns: dedication, curiosity, trust, relaxation, etc. *Adjective Section Requirements: Ten adjectives that best describe your personality and/or who you are. *Adverb Section Requirements: Using any six of the adjectives that describe your personality, modify them using adverbs. For example: “athletic” I am extremely athletic. (Extremely is an adverb that modifies the word athletic.)Example of a complete noun entry: a picture, the noun/adjective/adverb word and a reason why you chose it.0-63500Collective Noun: A New Yorker.
