The Mountaintop was developed at the Lark Play Development Center, New York City, and was first produced by Theatre 503 in June 2009 and further produced at Trafalgar Studio One in July 2009 by Sonia Friedman Productions and Jean Doumanian, Tali Pelman for Ambassador Theatre Group,

Bob Bartner, Freddy DeMann, Jerry Frankel, Ted Snowdon, and Marla Rubin Productions Ltd.

The Mountaintop was developed at the 2008 Bay Area Playwrights Festival, a program of the Playwrights Foundation (Amy L. Mueller, Artistic Director).

The Mountaintop is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.

Cedric Mays (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) is making his Arvada Center debut. Regional credits include: What I Learned In Paris (Indiana Repertory Theatre); And In This Corner...Cassius Clay (StageOne Family Theatre); The Mountaintop (Virginia Stage Company); Bud, Not Buddy (Chicago Children's Theatre); Fish Men (Goodman Theatre); Gem of the Ocean (Penumbra Theatre Company/Guthrie Theatre); Redshirts! (Penumbra Theatre Company/Round House Theatre); and Blue/Orange (Theatre Alliance). Television: Chicago Code and Detroit 1-8-7. He is a graduate of the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Betty Hart (Camae) is making her Arvada Center debut. Regional: Beehive (Blowing Rock Stage Company) and The Secret Garden (Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre). Atlanta: Jar the Floor (Alliance Theatre); The Trojan Women (Theatre Emory); As It is in Heaven (Aurora Theatre); The America Play (Actor's Express); Keeping Watch (Theatrical Outfit); and The Merchant of Venice and The Crucible (New American Shakespeare Tavern). Locally, Betty has performed as Erzulie in Once on

This Island (Aurora Fox) and Kate in Good People (Curious Theatre Company) for which she won the 2014 Marlowe Award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role for Comedy.

Adrianna Coleman (u/s Camae) is making her Arvada Center debut. Regional credits include: Arabian Nights (Aurora Fox) and In the Red and Brown Water (Curious Theatre Company). She's also been seen in The Submission (OpenStage Theatre) andThat Still SmallVoice(Crossroads Theatre Company). She is a Broadcasting and Theatre graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Keith L. Hatten (u/s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) has appeared at the Arvada Center as Booker T. Washington in Ragtime and as Delray in Memphis, for which he received a Theatre Colorado Bill's Best award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical. He appeared in over 20 productions as a member of the Denver Center Theatre Company, including The Merchant of Venice, The Madwoman, A Christmas Carol, Blue/ Orange, Dream on Monkey Mountain, and Jitney. Mr. Hatten also received an Ovation

Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Jim in Big River at Candelight Dinner Playhouse. His career in theatre, film, and television spans two decades receiving Westword's Best Season for an Actor in 2004.

Katori Hall (Author) is a playwright/ performer from Memphis, TN. Hall's plays include The Mountaintop (2010 Olivier Award for Best New Play), Hurt Village (2011 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize), Children of Killers and others. As a celebrated young AfricanAmerican playwright, award recognition includes the Lark Play Development Center Playwrights of New York Fellowship, ARENA Stage American Voices New Play Residency, the Kate Neal Kinley Fellowship. Also, two Lecomte du Nouy Prizes from Lincoln Center, the Fellowship of Southern Writers Bryan Family Award in Drama, a NYFA Fellowship, the Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Award and the Otis Guernsey New Voices Playwriting Award. Hall is an alumna of the Lark Playwrights' Workshop, where she developed The Mountaintop. She is a graduate of Columbia University, the A.R.T. at Harvard University, and the Juilliard School.

Gavin Mayer (Director) Arvada Center: White Christmas, She Loves Me, The Great Gatsby, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, Curtains (Colorado Theatre Guild nomination for Best Director of a Musical), Miracle on 34th Street, and Legally Blonde (True West Award Best Musical); as assistant director for End of the Rainbow, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and Chess. Arvada Center Teen Intensive: Catch Me If You Can, Urinetown: The Musical, Footloose, All Shook Up, and Hairspray. Other selected credits include: Forever Plaid (Post Playhouse); Jesus Christ Superstar, Bus Stop, Sweeney Todd, Les Mis?rables, The Laramie Project, Noises Off, and Urinetown: The Musical. Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the School of Theatre at Florida State University.

Brian Mallgrave (Scenic Designer) serves as Resident Scenic Designer at the Arvada Center where his recent works were the stage designs for White Christmas and Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center's Wait Until Dark, as well as the costume design for Arvada Center's Charlotte'sWeb. His work has garnered notice in multiple nominations for several seasons, along with Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Awards in Outstanding Scenic Design for She Loves Me (2014), Man of La Mancha (2013), and Les Mis?rables (2009.) He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts from the University of Nebraska.

Seth Alison (Lighting Designer) is making his Arvada Center debut. Seth is an awardwinning freelance lighting designer working throughout Colorado. He designs most often for Littleton Town Hall Arts Center where he most recently designed Violet, Shrek The Musical, West Side Story, and Young Frankenstein. Other recent designs include: The Drowsy Chaperone (Mizel Arts and Culture Center); and She Kills Monsters and Clarence Darrow (Aurora Fox).

Grant Evenson (Sound Designer) previously designed The Great Gatsby, The Archbishop's Ceiling, and the currently running Junie B. Jones, The Musical. In addition to designing the sound, he also produced and engineered the music recordings for Schoolhouse Rock Live, Lyle the Crocodile, and Charlotte's Web. Equally at home in the recording studio, Grant has engineered for clients such as Hewlett Packard, Gannett, and Fox's King of the Hill. Combining studio and stage disciplines, Grant's sound designs are unique in that they often feature a large number of sound effects and production elements he recorded specifically for the production.

Chris Campbell (Costume Designer) has designed costumes for fifteen productions at the Arvada Center, where recent designs include: White Christmas, Harvey, Memphis, The Mousetrap, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, Man of La Mancha (2013 Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award for Outstanding Costume Design), Blithe Spirit (Marlowe Award for Best Costume Design), Miracle on 34th Street, The Lion in Winter, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award for Outstanding Costume Design and the Denver Post Ovation Award, both in 2009). In the past, Chris has been an artisan for Disney, Carfagno Studios in New York, and the Denver Center Theatre Company.

Megan O'Connor (Wig Designer) previously designed wigs for Harvey, Memphis, Saturday Night Fever, White Christmas and Mrs. Mannerly at the Arvada Center. Other designs include: And Then There Were None, Grey Gardens, Mack and Mabel, and Harold and Maude (Vintage Theatre Productions). Wig Assistant credits include: productions at Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, CA, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and the Houston Grand Opera.

Megan received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications/Theatre from Metropolitan State University of Denver and her Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado.

Lisa Cook (Stage Manager) During 12 consecutive seasons at the Arvada Center, stage management credits include: Mrs. Mannerly, White Christmas, A Man of No Importance, She Loves Me, Memphis, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, Blithe Spirit, and Hairspray. Also in Colorado: Driving Miss Daisy and Over the River and Through the Woods (Cherry Creek Theatre). 2015 recipient of the Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Award for Outstanding Stage Management.

Miranda Baxter (Assistant Stage Manager) joins the Arvada Center for her third show. Regional credits include: stage manager for Outside Mullingar (Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company), stage manager for In the Red and Brown Water, All the Rage, and The Tricky Part, assistant stage manager for The Brothers Size, The Whipping Man, and After the Revolution (Curious Theatre Company). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Philosophy from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN.

Wojcik|Seay Casting (Casting) is Scott Wojcik and Gayle Seay. Along with Holly Buczek and Jessica Gordon, they cast all mediums. Tours: Vocalosity, Flashdance, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Jekyll & Hyde, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oklahoma!, and A Chorus Line.
