Initial Setup and ConfigurationUpon initial boot-up the 4400 will boot to the QUICK SETUP screen. Here you will be able to configure the 4400 to run in TBT Mode. Quick SetupTo navigate between fields on this screen you will use the “Tab” key or the “Up and Down arrows” to change a value in a field you can use the “Space bar” or the “Page Up and Page Down” keys. NetworkUse DHCP: if you answer “Yes” the 4400 will pull a DHCP address. If you answer “No” the 4 fields below this will need to be filled in. including IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and Primary DNS servers IP address.I-SERIES/AS400Sessions: this is where you specify the number of display sessions you will need on the I-Series/AS400Device Prefix: This is prefix that will be given to your 5250 sessions when created on the I-Series/AS400. This has a Maximum of 5 characters.Keyboard Type: Here you can choose PC for a standard 101/104 key keyboard, or Terminal also for a 101/104 key keyboard. When you use Terminal it will map the ENTER key to the Field Exit and the Right CTRL key to enter. You can also choose the 122 key BOSaNOVA if you are using a 10Zig keyboard.Keyboard Language: Here you can set your keyboard languageHost name/IP: Here you set the hostname or IP address of your I-Series/AS400 server.Printer: If you have a locally attached printer and want to have it print from the host you can specify in this sectionOnce all of your settings are complete press the F3 key to save and exit.If you would like configure the WBT (Windows Based Terminal) mode, you will hit F12 and then F2. Once in the Terminal Properties screen go to Terminal Modality and change this to WBT and hit enter, the screen will then go blank and come back up in WBT mode.Terminal Properties – Terminal Modality TBT/ WBTIf you wish to change the Terminal Modality settings for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now with “Terminal Properties” highlighted, go to Terminal Modality and change this to WBT and hit enter, the screen will then go blank and come back up in WBT mode. To change your 4400 from WBT (Windows based Terminal) mode back to TBT (Text based Terminal) click on the Settings button, then in the control panel double click on Display, then click the advanced button and choose your terminal mode.Setting a Static IP address If you wish to change the Network settings for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Network Settings” and press enter. In the Network configuration highlight local Area and then click “Edit” once in the Network settings click on the TCP/IP Properties tab and choose “Use Static IP” and set your static IP address, subnet Mack and Default gateway, and enter the IP address for your DNS servers.Wireless ConnectionTo setup a wireless connection (optional), close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Network Settings” and press enter. In the Network configuration click “Add” The Wireless connection configurator will then come up, click “Refresh” and then choose your networks SSID, then click OKYou will then need to add your wireless networks Security Mode and enter the passphrase for your wireless network. Once all setting are entered from the network configuration tab, highlight your wireless connection and then click on “Default” to make the wireless connection the default connection.Input SettingsIf you wish to change the Input settings for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Input Settings” and press enter. Here you can change your keyboard model and layout.Display SettingsIf you wish to change the Display settings for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Display Settings” and press enter. Here you can change your screen resolution and which monitor is the primary (if more than one Monitor) and also and the orientation of the 2nd monitor.Security SettingsIf you wish to change the Security settings for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Security Settings” and press enter. Here you can lock down your Thin Client so you need to enter a password to change the configuration, Check the box to Lock down control panel and enter a password to be entered when changing system settings twice and click ok. Install SSL CertificateTo install an SSL certificate to your Thin Client, check the box to Enable installation from USB Storage and click ok. Now insert a USB drive with your SSL certificate in either .pem or .crt format and the 5766 will USB certificate manager will pop up and allow you to select the certificate to install, just click on the install button and your SSL certificate will be installed and ready to use. You can verify your certificate has installed by clicking on the “Settings” button then double click the Certificates” icon in the control panel then click on “Show” for your certificates information.ConnectionsIf you wish to change the Connections settings (AS400 Sessions) for your 4400 thin client you can close out of any sessions you have open and then hit the F2 key to enter the Terminal Properties. Now highlight the “Connections” and press enter. Here you can edit or delete your current 5250 sessions.5250 /3270 Emulation (WBT mode)By clicking on the “Settings” Button then double click the 5250 Icon you can you can manually configure a 5250 /3270 display or printer session. Once all settings are applied click ok and the 5250 /3270 connection you created will now show in the Connections Manager.Auto Start application. (WBT mode)To auto Start an application at boot up, click the “Settings” button and then right click on one of the connections you have made. To auto start the application click on Autostart and a check will appear. If you do not want the connection to auto start click again and the check will disappear.To edit your connections settings click Edit and you can change your connections settings Tight VNCThe default password to connect to the Thin Client using the 10Zig manager is admin. ................
