GOD’S SACRED CALENDAR - In Time Revelation

GOD’S SACRED CALENDAR

Is the GOD of Creation working toward specific dates and times?

From business meetings, birthdays, anniversaries and daily events, we rely on some form of day planning. With so many things on your plate, what would your day look like if you didn’t write down these important events?

Ever miss an appointment?

There is coming a future event that you will not want to miss.

Rev 19:7 NIV - Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

So if GOD does have an appointed time with all of mankind, how important is it that we get the date right?

Ecc 8:5 NIV - Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure.

Mat 24:44 NIV - So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Luk 12:38 NIV - It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night.

Let’s start at the beginning and see how GOD established HIS Times, Days and Seasons.

THE DAY

Gen 1:1 NIV - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Gen 1:2 NIV - Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Gen 1:3 NIV - And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Gen 1:4 NIV - God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Gen 1:5 NIV - God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.

On the first day of creation, it was dark and GOD said “let there be light”. Because darkness came before the light, this established a twenty-four hour period from sunset to sunset for a day.

Each day was then divided into two 12 hour periods, called evening and morning. The period of day is from 6 am to 6 pm and the period of evening is from 6pm until 6 a.m. The hours during biblical times were referred to as:

1st hour, 2nd hour, 3rd hour, etc to the 12th hour. The phrase “between evenings” refers to the period of the day that goes from noon until 6pm.

FOR EXAMPLE:

The Bible records Yeshua’s death during the Ninth hour (counting from 6am) that would be 3:00 pm. (Matthew 27:45-50)

THE WEEK

Patterned after creation, the days of the week were divided by the days of creation.

THE FIRST DAY OF CREATION (Sunday)

(Notice the first day of the week was a work day)

Gen 1:2 NIV - Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Gen 1:3 NIV - And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Gen 1:4 NIV - God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Gen 1:5 NIV - God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.

THE SECOND DAY OF CREATION (Monday)

Gen 1:6 NIV - And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."

Gen 1:7 NIV - So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.

Gen 1:8 NIV - God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day.

THE THIRD DAY OF CREATION (Tuesday)

Gen 1:9 NIV - And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.

Gen 1:10 NIV - God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:11 NIV - Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.

Gen 1:12 NIV - The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:13 NIV - And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day.

THE FOURTH DAY OF CREATION (Wednesday)

Gen 1:14 NIV - And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,

Gen 1:15 NIV - and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so.

Gen 1:16 NIV - God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

Gen 1:17 NIV - God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,

Gen 1:18 NIV - to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:19 NIV - And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day.

THE FIFTH DAY OF CREATION (Thursday)

Gen 1:20 NIV - And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."

Gen 1:21 NIV - So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:22 NIV - God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."

Gen 1:23 NIV - And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day.

THE SIXTH DAY OF CREATION (Friday)

Gen 1:24 NIV - And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.

Gen 1:25 NIV - God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Gen 1:26 NIV - Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

Gen 1:27 NIV - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Gen 1:28 NIV - God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Gen 1:29 NIV - Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Gen 1:30 NIV - And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

Gen 1:31 NIV - God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.

THE SEVENTH DAY (Saturday)

Gen 2:2 NIV - By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

Gen 2:3 NIV - And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

The “week” forms a significant spiritual cycle of seven, which is commonly referred to as the Sabbatical Cycle. This seven day cycle figures extensively in Bible Prophecy. The number 7 represents completion and the perfection of GOD.

In the Sacred calendar, the days of the week are numbered not named, with the exception of the seventh day. This day GOD called a Sabbath, a day to be kept holy unto the LORD.

This day most significantly is linked to GOD’S Appointed Feast Days, The Ten Commandments and other important events of the Bible. We will go into that in more depth, later.

THE MONTH

A month begins with the sighting of the new moon.

Traditionally, in Jerusalem, the New Moon is declared after it has been confirmed by two or more witnesses (Ex 12.2). In scripture, the months are typically numbered (1st month, second month, etc.) but the names of the months are also recorded.

|Number of Month |Biblical name |Common name |Bible reference |

|1st Month |Abib or Nisan |March/April |Ex 12:2, 13:4, Ester 3:7 |

|3rd Month |Sivan |May/June |Ester 8:9 |

|6th Month |Elul |August/September |Nehemiah 6:15 |

|7th Month |Ethanim(Tishri) |September/October |1 Kings 8:2 |

|8th Month |Bul |October/November |1 Kings 6:38 |

|10th Month |Tebeth |December/January |Ester 2:16 |

|11th Month |Sebat |January/February |Zech 1:7 |

|12th Month |Adar |February/March |Ester 8:12 |

THE YEAR

GOD established the New Year and HE declared its beginning. This is critical to understanding all of THE WORD of GOD and by this all prophetic truths rely. Contrary to “man’s” calendar, GOD calls for The New Year to begin in Spring, a time where everything is coming alive rather than a long dark winter where all is asleep. Typically the new moon nearest the Spring Equinox begins the year.

Ex 12:1 NIV - The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt,

Ex 12:2 NIV - "This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year.

Exd 13:4 NIV - Today, in the month of Abib, you are leaving.

Exd 23:15 NIV - "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt. "No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

Exd 34:18 NIV - "Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt.

Deu 16:1 NIV - Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover of the LORD your God, because in the month of Abib he brought you out of Egypt by night.

I challenge you to find anywhere in GOD’s WORD that HE himself states that HE changed the time and season that he established at the foundations. So if the unchanging Creator GOD did not change it, who did?

Dan 7:25 KJV - And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

You might ask yourself, who benefits from changing these dates and times. Why would it be necessary to distract the world concerning these specific dates and times?

We have an adversary that has been very effective at blinding GOD’s people and causing them to stumble. He can not create, he can only try to duplicate. For everything that GOD has planned, he is trying to steal, kill, and destroy those that the LORD loves.

Remember, how you differentiate between truth and lies, look at the author. GOD can not lie, so if you only listen to HIS voice (found in HIS WORD), not man’s, not mine, but HIS, alone.

After all, IT IS HIS APPOINTMENT BOOK!

Hsa 4:6 NKJV - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

GOD CREATED SEASONS

The adversary has been successful at changing dates and times, but he can not change the seasons. That is why Yeshua reminded us the importance of “knowing the season”.

“Seed time and Harvest” is a common theme of the Bible. The Creator clearly understood the necessity of the seasons, not only for marking time, but to establish prophetic encounters with HIS children.

Gen 8:22 NIV - "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.

In Israel, there are two main harvest seasons; Spring and Fall.

Deu 8:8 NIV - a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; Deu 11:12 NIV - It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

There are also two distinct rainy periods that coincide with these harvest times. These seasons of rain are often referred to as “early and later rains”.

Deu 11:14 NIV - then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil.

The prophet Hosea alluded to Yeshua’s coming like that of the early (former) and latter rains.

Hsa 6:3 NIV - Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the autumn rains, like the spring rains that water the earth."

Joe 2:23 NIV - Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.

The Creator of time, the giver of seasons and the author of a perfect plan of redemption, reveals the details of HIS plans through appointed times and seasons.

These dates reveal that the GOD who created you to fellowship with him. He chose these events with you in mind. Our Messiah has a date with you. “like the early and later rains”.
