Job Title: Decision Analytics AdvisorJob Code: Reports To: Manager of Decision AnalyticsFLSA Status: ExemptPay Code: 15EEO: 01PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Decisions Analytics Senior Advisor works closely with the Business Process Advisor to define, prioritize and deliver performance information to Shelby County Schools in order to lead the district to achieving Destination 2025. This position uses the business requirements of our customers and then translates the output into interactive and insightful visualizations through the use of Microsoft PowerBI. It is the responsibility of this role to problem solve through data investigations of questions that limit provider outcomes, gather information and make recommendations to drive reporting innovation using PowerBI dashboards and reports tailored to the needs of customers. The Decisions Analytics Senior Advisor leads high complexity, high impact projects/products from ideation to delivery, with an emphasis on measurable, value added deliverables.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but are intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Enhance stakeholder capabilities through supporting cross-functional teams with advanced data analysis and visualization in PowerBIDeliver end-to-end analytics services from data ingestion, analysis and visualization to documenting insights and recommendations in client deliverables and presentations Responsible for translating the information needs of stakeholders into data visualizations that convey actionable insights via compelling visuals.Variety of other consulting services which include: working directly with stakeholders to identify business challenges; collaborating with stakeholders to deliver meaningful and automated visualizations.Provide analytic and consultative support to a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholder areas.Leads the interpretation of raw data, statistical results or otherwise compiled information through the Microsoft PowerBI interfaceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management, statistics, data science or a related field is required; advanced degree is preferred or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 7 to 10 years. Degree Equivalency Formula:Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.? KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated advanced skill and understanding of Data Analysis Expression (DAX) Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and data mining techniques?Ability to concisely express complex data analytics algorithms and results in a business context?Proficiency in Microsoft Power BIStrong problem solving, strategic thinking and program framing skillsAbility to operate as a self-starter who is highly organized and works well independently or within a team environmentStrong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal/external partners and key stakeholdersDemonstrated flexibility to ever-changing business needs; with a strong track record to meet deadlines?Microsoft Office 365 tool suite proficiency, with advanced knowledge of ExcelProviding technical direction and assistance on the development of table structures with the Database Engineer.Using stakeholder and application knowledge to deliver meaningful information through PowerBI visuals.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTPhysical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment; must be able to use hands and fingers for sign language.Unavoidable Hazards: The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards.
