I appreciate the parents that came ... - Shelby County Schools

I hope that you all had a nice and restful weekend!!!

Please discuss the importance of good behavior so we can learn more effectively and have more privileges. We have fantastic classes and this is the time of year when behavior needs to get back on track… thanks in advance (

Please remember to visit Mr. White’s BLOG on the Shelby County Website under Calera Intermediate School under my name in the faculty section – if you need help finding it, please let me know. The Weekly Newsletter will be there each week also. Thanks. (

Please be sending in those Box Tops – it is a great way for our school to make money – you can even have collection bins at your worksites. We are in competition with other classrooms for a pizza party and we know Mr. White’s class is the BEST!!! Send them in ASAP!!!

It is essential to know your multiplication facts for 4th grade math. They will not be successful in 4th grade math if they do not know their multiplication facts. Please make sure that your child is retaining their multiplication facts (focus on facts 0-9). They should be studying them nightly.

Reminders:

Please make sure that your child has their own individual ear buds…they were on the supply list for school and some kids have lost them, broke them, or taken them home. They can be bought at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 and those are the ones I recommend in case they are misplaced. We use these a lot and all kids need their own pair. Thanks for your help in advance with this (

As a reminder (in case you want to eat lunch with your child), we go to lunch from 11:20 to 11:40 am daily (Ms. Hasty takes my class to lunch due to class periods). (

INOW passwords have gone home. Those usernames and passwords will allow you to see your child’s attendance and grades. Graded work will be coming home weekly (or periodically) in their Monday folders. Thanks (

Our children MUST know their multiplication facts for them to be successful in 4th grade math. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be studying them nightly with your child so they can have a productive year in math (just focus on facts 0-9). They will review them regularly through a computer program called Reflex Math here at school but they need to also review them at home every night. Thank you in advance for all of your help with this.
