Stephen C. O'Connell Center – Official Home of the ...

This is the O’Connell Center’s general safe working plan. In this document you will find all our new guidelines that must be followed by all employees and patrons in order to create a safe environment for everyone. Please note that this document is subject to change frequently as new guidance is received from UF, UF Health, the CDC, and industry standards.General Notes:Masks must be worn at all times (see ‘Face Coverings’ below).Individuals should remain 6’ away from others whenever possible.Wash your hands frequently and use the hand sanitizer.Respect room capacities (see ‘Room Capacities’ below)GatorOne cards or SCOC-issued supervisor badges must always be displayed while working. Badge holders and lanyards can be obtained from the ERO free of charge. The ERO will add an employee’s affirmed pronouns to their badge holders if requested. Each division has a division specific plan that will need to be followed in addition to the items below.Employees that are tasked with any safety procedure will be paid for the time they are working on the task.In Case of IllnessThe University of Florida has put these policies in place to protect everyone. As employees you are expected to follow these procedures with the utmost respect for others. Below will be a detailed explanation of what to do if you have a scenario that you believe you fall into one of these and how to know if you should report it or not. If you…Do not feel well and have COVID-19 like symptomsTest positive for COVID-19Have been in close contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive, regardless of where the COVID-positive individual works or lives, and has any symptomsThen you will need to…Stay home or go homeConsult with ERO about getting removed from shiftsCall STP at 352.273.9790 to identify the next steps. This may include arranging for a test or to notify of positive test Employee should consult with personal physician, if necessary If you…Believe you have been in close contact with someone who is COVID positive, regardless of where the COVID-positive individual works or lives, even if you don’t have symptoms - Call 352.273.9790.? They will let you know if you may continue as normal or need to take additional measures.Live or have been around someone who has been in close contact with someone who is COVID-positive regardless of where the COVID-positive individual lives or works, you can continue to work as normal but monitor your health more closely.Symptoms include: sore throat, cough, fever, body aches, runny nose, diarrhea, and/ or shortness of breath not explained by another known medical condition. Close Contact: occurs when you have been within 6 feet of a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual for greater than 15 accumulated minutes starting from 48 hours before the start of their symptoms until they have been deemed non-infectious or have had direct contact with secretions from a cough or sneeze. Face CoveringsA face mask or cloth face covering will be required everywhere inside the O’Connell Center and when on crew at locations across campus. When in a public facing position, like event staff and tidy crew, the O’Connell Center official facemask should be worn whenever possible. Should the facemask be unwearable, supervisors will have access to surgical masks that can be used instead. For non-public facing shifts, like sets and strikes, any face covering is acceptable as long as they are appropriate for the workplace. For shifts outside, staff members will be given a disposable mask if their O’Connell Center mask is ruined or soiled during a shift. You do not have to wear a mask when:For admin and office staff, when inside their own private office. (When visitors enter that enter the office, both people should wear a mask.) The Administrative Reception area is considered a private workspace for Courtney and Donna when they are the only people presentYou are in a work area separated by at least 6 feet from others. These areas include:The ERO front office when staff is at their workstations and no guests are present The maintenance workshopThe Annex (if you are harnessed in, you must wear face masks)The tech tunnelStorage rooms when doing general maintenance and reorganizationThe file storage roomsYou are in the Van or Truck alone. If more than one person is in the vehicle, everyone must wear a mask (see ‘Safety Precautions for Vehicle Use’ below)You have official approval in place with accommodations as directed by the ADA office. In the event someone is violating the above policies:If the violator is a SCOC employee: Ask them to comply, remind them of the face covering job requirement (unless there is an ADA exemption)If they do not comply, report it to the Admin in charge (call the administrator in charge of event if they are not on-site).Instances of violations: If they refuse to wear a mask and do not have an ADA clearance, clock them out and send them home. Document the refusal with a reprimand salmon sheet. If an employee is seen taking their mask on and off during their shift at inappropriate times, inform them that they must keep their mask on. If they do not comply after the first warning, clock them out and send them home. Document the incident with a reprimand salmon sheet. If the employee forgets to bring a face covering, we will provide them one. Surgical-style face masks are in the blue box in the Student Management Office (if the supply is getting low, please contact Paul or another Admin to replenish the supply).Supervisors need to document a file-only salmon sheet for the employee if they forget their mask. The ERO will be monitoring submitted salmon sheets for forgotten face masks and will send reprimands on the second violation. Third violations will be escalated to the Director of Operations. If their mask becomes soiled or wet while working, provide them a replacement surgical-style mask.If the violator is a guest:Invited guests should be notified of the policy in advance. If they do not comply, then ask them to comply. If they choose not to comply, they should be asked to leave. This includes patrons coming into the building for an event, whether that event is ticketed or open to the public. All event information will include mention of the face covering requirements. If the violator is a student attending classes or participating in club activity (when it resumes), ask them to comply or inform the instructor/club organizer that the individual must leave. If the violator is a tenant or invited contractor, they should be asked to comply or asked to leave.Notes: This policy is for daily activities in the building. While masks will be required for patrons, there may be additional event policies that will be determined as part of the individual event risk assessment.Patrons should wear face coverings while in the building, except when eating or drinking.Events that occur at other locations on campus still require face coverings, including outdoor events. Any exceptions for outside events will be covered on a case-by-case basis during show advancing.Important Hygiene Tips:Wash hands often to reduce the spread of germs at work and at home. Wash hands for 20 seconds, making sure you scrub all areas including fingertips and the back of your hands.Hand sanitizer should be used as well when need be. Hand sanitizing stations will be located around the O’Connell Center. You can bring in and carry around your own personal hand sanitizer. Try to avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.Regularly sanitize personal objects like water bottles.Room CapacitiesSocial distancing should always occur while on crew and while in all spaces. Due to space limitations of some of the O’Connell Center’s spaces, maximum capacities will be in effect. Here are the current capacities of these spaces:Staff HQ5Zone 1 Storage4Orange and Blue Room48SMO4Zone 2 Storage2Tech Tunnel Entry***2ERO*1Zone 3 Storage 3Tech Tunnel Maintenance***3Division Head Office2Broom Closet1Tech Tunnel Storage***2Guest Services1Practice Court63Annex- Upper4Staff HQ Storage2Practice Court Storage2Annex-Lower Tech4Dance Studio22Center Court Club35Annex-Lower ES1Dance Studio Storage4Center Court Club Storage1Galileo4Florida Room14Elevator Room2*For the ERO, the capacity of 1 is in addition to the staff that work in the space daily.**For the Annex and Galileo, the doors should be kept open if possible. ***There should be no more than 6 people working in the entire tech tunnel spaces.Crew Clock In/Out Line-up ProceduresThe technical division will be using a dedicated clock in the tech tunnel. The procedures to clock in for techs is covered in the Tech Safe Working Plan.Staff HQ has a limited capacity (see ‘Room Capacities’ above) so every effort should be made to not exceed that capacity. For crews less than 15, it is up to the supervisor to keep crew members distanced and only allow the proper amount of people in Staff HQ at the same time. This means that some crew members may need to wait for their turn to clock in or out outside the hallway. They should maintain physical distance in the hallway.Once the crew size reaches 15, there will be a “Host” that will be stationed outside staff HQ that will direct individuals to their designated clock in location. Clock in locations will include Staff HQ and a designated secondary location(s) with a portable clock. There will also be a note on the crew sheets to indicate the crew member’s clock in location. Those not actively clocking in should remain socially distanced in a line that wraps towards the arena and then around to the stairwell that is closest to the Gym Studio, using the stairs if necessary.Supervisors should use the stylus provided to enter job numbers and crew members should use their gator one cards to clock in and out. See below for use and cleaning. Building DisinfectionIf any disinfecting solution is getting low, please contact Paul Shamp at 352-392-5505 or shampp@ufl.edu.
