1. Describe your major S/R/C goal(s) for the past six months
a. Assist new president elect to plan and publicize Spring 2017 conference
b. Update and correct chapter email contact list and facilitate communication between chapter executive board about subsequent updates
c. Upgrade our website to more easily accept electronic payments and give a receipt to our members.
d. Seek funding from CRLA to help assist with the costs associated with a keynote speaker for our spring conference in 2017.
e. Assist the new secretary Kimberly Courtwright with her duties.
2. Activities implemented to accomplish this/these goals (attach documents if appropriate):
a. Updated the “to do” chapter conference preparation list for new president elect and met with her to plan the spring conference. Provided her with all my planning documents.
b. Led chapter meeting at national conference in Louisville, KY actively encouraged our members to attend the meeting.
c. Communicated with the executive board of Heartland to get approval to pay to upgrade our website to better accept electronic payments. The website was upgraded and is properly working for the spring 2017 conference.
d. Updated chapter email contact list and shared it with chapter executive board
e. Communicated with those on chapter contact list about chapter spring conference
f. Communicated with president elect and chapter executive board regarding decisions and plans for spring 2017 conference
3. Summary of any S/R/C Funding requests including outcomes: Funding request submitted to Leslie Giles-Smith on 12/20/2016. Request was to help offset expenses for our Keynote Speaker Dr. Laura Janusik.
4. S/R/C-related activities at the Annual Conference: We held a chapter business meeting which had twenty three in attendance, we suggested looking into the possibility to upgrade our website to better accept electronic payments, laminate our membership cards and move ownership of our Facebook page to Sara Keenan our President-Elect.

6. Describe your major goal(s) for the next six months:
a. Assisting and supporting Heartland Chapter President-elect Sara Keenan in planning the spring conference, which will be held April 6 – 7, 2017 at the Sheraton Suites – Country Club Plaza Kansas City.
b. Continue to ensure our information on the chapter webpage, Facebook page, and national CRLA website are up to date and effectively communicate about the spring conference and chapter membership.
c. Continue to facilitate good communication between executive board members.
d. Continue to seek new and continuing chapter membership.
e. Ensure a minimum of a break-even profit for our spring conference (attendance of 50 and attempt to get a signed book by Carol Dweck – Mindset)
7. What services and activities you are considering to help meet the goal(s):
a. Meet monthly with the Executive Team to promote and plan for a successful spring conference. Establish meeting dates with the option of using Google Hangouts for a meeting venue.
b. Promote the chapter’s travel award.
c. Actively promote the spring conference with those who have not attended recently or, in the case of prospective who came to the Nov. meeting, have never attended.
d. Work with the president elect to locate other chapter conference promotion streams.
e. Assist with my MCCKC colleagues to present at the chapter conference.
f. Register for the November 2017 national conference and to attend the S/R/C leadership meeting as well as organize the chapter business meeting.
Possibly submit a proposal for a presentation.

9. Assistance you need from the Coordinator of S/R/Cs and/or the CRLA Board?
Some funding for our Keynote speaker will help defer some of the expenses and help us break-even. We had limited choices for venues and could not secure a college campus to reduce the costs. The Sheraton was our best option which is located close to Sara Keenan the President Elect. There are minimum food requirement expenditures.
