Gunpowder Empires ProjectInstead of doing a bunch of boring power points and readings, you will be researching the “Gunpowder Empires” with your group. The finished project will be a children’s book which covers the topics listed below. You may completely computer generate this book, completely hand draw this book or do a mix of both. You might want to use computer images, etc. that you cut and paste onto paper. You don’t need to go crazy (unless you want) and go get a book professionally printed and bound. You can simply staple the left side of the papers if you want or put the pages in a binder. This is due at the end of class on Friday. The three Gunpowder Empires you will be researching are the Ottomans, the Safavids and the Mughals . Within your book each empire should contain the following:A map with the capital cities (and important cities) identified. This can be hand drawn or you can use a map you find on the internet. The dates the empire was founded and collapsedA quick description of the rise of each empireShort biographies of important rulers (2-5 sentences)The book should incorporate vocabulary words and definitions.Art and major architecture of the empiresImportant points about the economy (what they traded, who they traded with)Major religions within the empiresInfrastructure of Empire (hospitals, schools)Type of governmentSocial Structure (this can be shown with a simple social pyramid)The Safavids will be the shortest “chapter” in your book. There is much more information available about the Ottomans and Mughals.Cheat Sheet of Important Terms and People:414337545720MughalsTaj MahalRed FortAgraBaburAkbar the GreatShah JahanAurangzeb00MughalsTaj MahalRed FortAgraBaburAkbar the GreatShah JahanAurangzeb220980045720SafavidsIsfahanBattle of ChaldiranIsmailAbbas the Great00SafavidsIsfahanBattle of ChaldiranIsmailAbbas the Great414337545720MughalsTaj MahalRed FortAgraBaburAkbar the GreatShah JahanAurangzeb00MughalsTaj MahalRed FortAgraBaburAkbar the GreatShah JahanAurangzeb220980045720IsfahanBattle of ChaldiranIsmailAbbas the Great00IsfahanBattle of ChaldiranIsmailAbbas the Great27622545720OttomansSuleiman the MagnificentBlue MosqueTopkapi PalaceMehmet the ConquerorBattle of LepantoJanissaries00OttomansSuleiman the MagnificentBlue MosqueTopkapi PalaceMehmet the ConquerorBattle of LepantoJanissaries** These aren’t the only important aspects BUT they are some of the MOST important aspects to cover with each empire.Example29718001905635Blue MosqueShort description here00Blue MosqueShort description here95254096385This will be worth one test grade.
