EPISODE 1.01 “DEMOLISH” (the PILOT)

(Fade In)

ACT ONE: Scene A

INT. GAS STATION - DAY

It’s a hot summer afternoon. Two “cool” looking convertibles are parked outside a gas station in the middle of a dry, empty road.

One of the convertibles is spray painted bright orange with a fire design going across it. The other convertible is a simple red one.

Several minutes later, the door to the old, dirty gas station opens. Two teenage males walk out. One is a visibly older, very tall, brown skinned African American male, DAVID MURPHY.

The younger second male is STEVEN RAHMAN. He has the same complexion as David. He has his brown dreadlocks stopping a little past his shoulders. His style of clothing is unique and eccentric.

Steven stretches his arms.

STEVEN

(Sarcasm) Well, that was fun.

He looks at David.

STEVEN

Say, David, must you always drag

your stepsister along everywhere

we go? We can live without her

irritating, “look at me, look

at me!” attitude.

David laughs.

DAVID

Sorry Steve, but I have to. My mom

wanted me to introduce her to my

friends so she wouldn’t feel so

alone. When you get to know her

better, Paige isn’t really all

that bad.

STEVEN

I think we all know enough about

her already. She never stops

talking.

Suddenly, two girls walk out the gas station, both the same age, PAIGE SMITH and CHRISTINA (Christy) CHARLES.

Paige is a beauty with the looks of a model. She’s tall, has light skin, with long light brown hair. She’s dressed in tight clothing and long boots.

 

CHRISTINA is more average looking than Paige. She’s athletic and it shows. She’s dressed in sporty clothes and carries herself in a tough, tomboyish manner.

Paige, as a ditzy valley girl, is carrying a conversation with Christy, who looks uninterested in what Paige is saying. Steven and David look at Paige.

STEVEN

See? Look at her, still talking.

Paige begins giggling like a typical girly schoolgirl to Christy, who’s playing games on her cellular phone while occasionally nodding her head.

David shakes his head. He and Steven take the gas pipe and stick in their cars. The two girls walk to the boys. Paige, wearing “cute” sunglasses, takes out an umbrella to shield herself from the heat.

PAIGE

Oh my God, it’s like, so hot

out here. I feel my face

melting.

Christy begins to look annoyed. She answers Paige in, “a-matter-of-fact” like.

CHRISTY

Well it is ninety degrees out.

Christy walks to Steven.

CHRISTY

Arturo should be out soon. I

guess he’s getting his last

minute shopping done.

PAIGE

That’s his name?

 

Christy, and Steven look at her. Christy nods.

CHRISTY

Yeah, Arturo Andres Rodriguez.

Paige giggles in an annoying, teeny bopper-ish voice.

PAIGE

He’s hot!

CHRISTY

I’m glad you seem to think so,

but I’m not into the whole long

hair, androgynous look.

PAIGE

Why? You threatened?

Christy rolls her eyes. David quietly chuckles to himself.

Paige then looks at the gas station’s mini-store as Arturo walks out, carrying a bag of Doritos. Paige takes out a blow pop and begins sucking on it in a seductive matter.

PAIGE

All that matters is what’s in

his pants.

 

David, Steven and Christy look at Paige with a disgusted look on their faces as she giggles.

Arturo is same age as everyone else. He is of Spanish dissent with very long, wavy brown hair. He is a Spanish male and has dark, brown eyes.

Arturo’s style of clothing are long shirts and baggy jeans nearly twice his size. He has a small frame, especially for a male.

Arturo walks to David. He begins to feel uncomfortable as he notices Paige staring at him. After pumping their gases, David and Steven take the gas pipe out of their cars.

DAVID

Is everyone ready?

Steven nods.

STEVEN

Yup.

David hops in his red convertible.

DAVID

Then let’s go!

Christy waves at David and Arturo while winking cutely.

CHRISTY

Byyyye!

Christy gets in the fiery convertible along with Steven. Arturo begins to get in David’s car, however, Paige stands behind him, eyeing him up and down, looking very pleased.

Uncomfortable again, Arturo opens the door and sits in the backseat. Paige perkily walks to the other side of the car and sits in the seat next to Arturo.

They look at each other. Arturo looks somewhat scared, while Paige looks happy.

PAIGE

Hi!

Arturo shyly waves. David and Steven pull out from the gas station and speeds down the long, empty, road.

 

CUT TO:

ACT ONE: Scene B

EXT. FOOTBALL STADIUM - DAY

 

Arturo, Paige, David, Steven, and Christy are watching an intense football team from their home state, Delaware, and a team from another state, Maine.

Maine scores a field goal. The audience cheers loudly. Steven shakes his head and David yells in anger.

DAVID

What the hell!? What are they

doing!? At this rate, I’m gonna

lost my fifty bucks!

Christy chuckles.

CHRISTY

So David, when are you gonna

pay me?

Arturo watches the game in slight amusement. Paige looks at him and offers him some of her popcorn. Arturo simply stares at it, not knowing what to do.

PAIGE

Popcorn?

ARTURO

Uh… Sure.

 

Arturo takes a handful of popcorn and stuffs it in his mouth. Paige giggles.

PAIGE

God. I might as well have

given you the whole bag.

 

She and Arturo both begin to laugh. Christy looks at the direction of the laughter. She looks a little bothered by it.

 

The audience cheers loudly again, much louder than before. David moans loudly in anger and hangs his head down in shame.

Christy looks at David and smiles deviously. Angered, David digs in his pocket, takes out the money and slams it in Christy’s hands.

 

CUT TO:

ACT ONE: Scene C

EXT. ARTURO’S HOUSE - NIGHT

 

David pulls up in front of Arturo’s house. It’s a simple one-story home surrounded by trees, almost isolated from the rest of the city.

DAVID

Well… Here we are…

ARTURO

Thanks.

 

Paige looks at Arturo and smiles.

PAIGE

Bye. Maybe we’ll see each other

around. School?

 

Arturo nods.

ARTURO

Yeah. I guess.

Paige slightly giggles. Arturo gets out of the car and walks to his house. Paige waves as David drives off.

 

INT. ARTURO’S HOUSE (Living Room) - NIGHT

 

Arturo walks in his house. He closes the door behind him.

ARTURO

Dad! I’m home!

He doesn’t receive a response.

ARTURO

Dad!

Once again, he doesn’t receive an answer. He slowly begins to walks through the living room.

INT. KITCHEN

Arturo enters the kitchen. A small notepad is lying on the kitchen tape, signed by “Noel”. Arturo rolls his eyes.

ARTURO

Yay. Good news.

Arturo picks up the note and begins reading it. It reads: ‘Arturo, I won’t be home now. Unfortunately, there has been a change of plans. Bible study will be longer than originally planned, so I won’t be home. There are some fish sticks in the freezer. I won’t be home until late, so please fix them yourself. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Your father, Minister Noel.’

Arturo groans in annoyance.

ARTURO

Just what I wanted to hear.

He sighs and tosses the note back on the table.

INT. ARTURO’S ROOM – NIGHT

Arturo walks in his dark room and shuts the door behind him. He turns on the lights. The sudden brightness of the room causes him to rubs his eyes.

He takes off his shirt hangs it up in his closet. He stretches his arms as he yawns.

He takes off the rest of his clothes and throws them on the floor, too lazy to hang them up. He turns off the lights and goes to bed.

Moments later, sounds are heard coming from outside. Arturo gets up and walks to his window to see what the sounds are.

He opens the window and a confused look strikes across his face.

ARTURO

What the f…?

Countless people are running around, screaming for their lives. It is frighteningly bright outside. Arturo looks at the sky, as the bright light gets even brighter.

He gasps in shock as a gigantic comet surrounded in giant flames slowly makes its way towards his house, destroying everything in sight.

The enormous, immensely bright, fiery comet lands, setting off a huge explosion killing everyone and everything. Arturo closes his eyes and shields them as the explosion makes its way to him.

CUT TO:

ACT ONE: Scene D

INT. ARTURO’S BEDROOM – DAY

 

Arturo suddenly wakes up, quickly sitting up on the bed’s headboard. He’s sweating and breathing heavily. He begins wiping the sweat off his face with his arms.

He looks around his room. Everything’s intact. He sighs in relief. His door then opens. A dark man, fifty years of age, wearing a typical Minister’s robe, enters the room.

It’s quite obvious he and Arturo aren’t blood related.

 

ARTURO

Hi… Dad.

Arturo yawns and stretches. The man, NOEL, smiles at him.

NOEL

Good morning, son. Are you

planning sleeping all day?

That’s a good way to keep a

job.

 

Arturo’s eyes perk up in a fearful shock.

ARTURO

I’m getting fired?

 

Noel laughs.

NOEL

No, son. I’m just pulling your

leg.

Arturo sighs in relief.

NOEL

But… If you want to get there

on time, I suggest you get up

now. I have to drive over to a

friend’s house for a private

sermon, so you’ll have to walk.

 

Arturo sighs in disappointment.

ARTURO

Is it ever any different?

NOEL

No, but that’s life.

Noel throws a towel at Arturo’s face and exits the room, closing the door behind him.

 

INT. CLOTHING STORE – DAY

Arturo, in his black work uniform, is putting new clothes on the rack. Two of his coworkers, a male and a female, are felling all over each other, giggling annoyingly.

Arturo is trying to cover his obvious agitation, but it doesn’t work.

Someone, a mysteriously looking seventeen-year-old girl, enters the store, catching everyone’s attention. The boy and the girl quickly get off each other, smiling nervously.

The girl takes out a comb and begins combing her hair.

 

FEMALE COWORKER

C-Can we help you?

 

The mysterious girl has a unique presence and look to her. She’s a pale skinned Caucasian girl, with long, bright blue hair that matches her eye color, eyebrows and colored lips.

She’s dressed in a simple dress and a pair of boots. She’s pretty, but something about her is suspicious. Arturo looks at her as well.

 

The girl walks to Arturo is. The male and female look at her and quietly laugh amongst themselves, making fun of her.

ALLISON

Slow business today, huh?

 

ARTURO

Tell me about it.

Allison chuckles.

ALLISON

It’s so boring here. It kinda

makes me miss school.

 

ARTURO

I don’t think I can agree on

that one.

Allison laughs. She smiles at Arturo.

ALLISON

I’m Cooper----Allison. You?

 

ARTURO

Arturo.

ALLISON

Rodriguez?

Arturo looks at Allison in slight confusion. He’s alarmed.

ARTURO

How did you know?

Allison smiles and shrugs nonchalantly.

ALLISON

What can I say? I’ve been

around.

Arturo looks at Allison even stranger.

ARTURO

…”Been around”? As in, the store,

right? Not like… You know… “Around”.

Allison walks even closer to Arturo, who appears to be intimidated by her. She looks at with a seductive look in her eye.

ALLISON

Say… I’m going to going, but

here’s my number.

 

Allison gives Arturo a tiny piece of paper with her number written on it. She winks.

ALLISON

Call me.

ARTURO

Stalk y—Oh, sure. Definitely.

Allison giggles as she exits the store. The male and female coworkers are laughing at Arturo. He turns to them.

MALE COWORKER

“Stalk you”?

ARTURO

Shut up. My mind was… Full.

MALE COWORKER

Right. So, are you gonna call

her?

Arturo looks towards the entrance of the store. He begins shaking his head.

ARTURO

Neh.

FEMALE COWORKER

I wouldn’t either. That girl

screams “psycho”.

CUT TO:

ACT ONE: Scene E

EXT. ARTURO’S HOUSE - NIGHT

Arturo walks to his doorstep of his home and takes out his keys. He begins to open the door until he hears a noise. He looks around his dark neighborhood.

He sees nothing. He shrugs it off and continues to open his door. He now hears another noise.

It’s obviously that he is not the only one there. Someone, or something is there with him… Watching him… He turns around again. He sighs in relief.

ARTURO

Oh, Allison.

Arturo’s suddenly widen in shock.

ARTURO

Allison!?

Allison smiles.

ALLISON

What’s wrong? Weren’t expecting

company?

Arturo laughs at his own stupidity.

ARTURO

Sorry. No, I wasn’t. Or at

least not this late.

Allison smiles deviously.

ALLISON

You’re wondering how I found

your address.

ARTURO

Basically.

Allison moves closer to Arturo, freaking him out. Deviousness and sadist suddenly appears on her face. She glares at Arturo straight in his eyes.

ALLISON

I waited until you were released

from work, and I followed you

home, waiting for the right time

to…

Allison stops. Arturo looks mortified. Allison suddenly bursts into laughter.

ALLISON

I’m kidding. Actually I only

stepped out for second, and

when I saw you, I figured I’d

say, “hi”.

Arturo gulps.

ARTURO

Well… You did!

Arturo laughs nervously. Allison smiles.

ALLISON

So… Wanna hang out?

 

ARTURO

Do you know what time it is?

My dad could come home at any

minute.

ALLISON

Aw, what’s wrong? Can’t have

visitors after ten?

ARTURO

No, not really.

Allison walks to Arturo’s door. She turns around and smiles at him.

 

ALLISON

This door isn’t going to open

itself.

Arturo smiles. He walks to his door and unlocks it. The door opens and he follows Allison inside. She shuts the door.

Unknowing to them, someone was watching them. A Caucasian male, seventeen years old, is standing across from Arturo’s house, watching him, blending completely in the darkness.

He then steps out of the darkness. The teen is a brown-eyed male with bright green hair, wearing what appears to be some sort of cult uniform.

He takes a blade out of his pocket and looks at Arturo’s bedroom window as the lights come on.

Allison and Arturo can be seen entering the room. Allison walks to the window. The green-haired male watches her, glaring.

(Black Out)

END OF ACT ONE:

ACT TWO: Scene F

(Fade In)

INT. ARTURO’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

Allison is looking out of Arturo’s window. Arturo walks behind her.

ARTURO

What’s wrong?

Allison hastily turns around.

ALLISON

Nothing!

She shuts the window. She walks to the bed and hops on it.

ALLISON

So… Where are your parents?

ARTURO

Dead.

Allison looks confused.

ARTURO

You know, I really don’t know,

actually. They gave me up when

I was little, so they’re pretty

much dead in my book.

ALLISON

Why?

Arturo shrugs.

ARTURO

Who knows? Finances? Or hell,

maybe they just didn’t feel

like taking care of a third

child.

ALLISON

So, you have sibling?

ARTURO

Yeah. Two. Older sister, older

brother, but I barely remember

them. The only one I consider

family is (prideful voice)

Minister Noel Connelly. He’s

raised me since I was four,

changed my diapers, he taught

me everything I need to know.

That’s what a parent is. For

me, anyway.

ALLISON

I see…

 

Allison gets up from the bed and walks to Arturo. She puts her hands on his shoulders.

ALLISON

We are a lot alike, you know.

I’m not exactly close with my

family either. If we keep talking,

who knows what else we’ll have

in common.

She and Arturo move closer together. Allison closes her eyes and begins kissing Arturo passionately on his lips. The passion between the two quickly excels.

Allison begins to feel all over Arturo’s body. She takes off his shirt and throws it on the floor. She looks at him and smiles seductively.

Arturo picks her up and tosses her on his bed. Allison laughs pleasurably. She and Arturo begin kissing again once Arturo goes on top of her body.

Not long after, before they could go any further, a car pulls up in the driveway, blowing its horn. Allison giggles.

ALLISON

Daddy’s home.

CUT TO:

ACT TWO: Scene G

INT. ARTURO’S HOUSE - NIGHT

 

Noel parks his car in the driveway and exits his vehicle. Suddenly, the green-haired teenager bumps into him. Noel looks shocked.

NOEL

Uh… Hello there.

 

The teenager doesn’t answer. He simply glares. He’s hiding something behind his back… A slick-looking emerald blade. Noel smiles.

NOEL

Are you lost, young man?

 

The teenager shakes his head.

  NOEL

Are you a friend of Arturo?

 

The teenager, once again, shakes his head.

 

NOEL

I see… Well, good luck at…

Whatever it is you’re doing.

Noel turns around. The teenager quickly raises his arms, preparing to stab him in his back until Arturo suddenly opens the door.

ARTURO

DAD!

 

Noel is taken by surprise.

 

NOEL

Oh, Arturo, is this your friend?

Arturo looks confused.

ARTURO

…Who?

NOEL

This gentlemen.

Noel turns around, prepared to point to the person behind him, but he’s gone, as if he was never there in the first place.

Noel then looks confused. Allison is standing by the doorway, watching.

 

ALLISON

Good work, Taji.

CUT TO:

ACT TWO: Scene H

INT. ARTURO’S DINING ROOM - NIGHT

 

Allison, Arturo, and Noel are in the dining room, eating dinner he had just prepared. Allison smiles.

  NOEL

So, where do you live?

ALLISON

Not far. Just a block down the

street.

NOEL

Where do you know Arturo from?

ALLISON

Work.

 

Allison turns to Arturo and smiles. Arturo chuckles.

NOEL

Arturo, may I speak with you

for a minute?

 

Arturo nods.

ARTURO

Sure.

Arturo gets up from his seat and follows Noel into the kitchen.

INT. KITCHEN

 

Noel and Arturo enter the kitchen. Noel gives Arturo a stern look.

NOEL

Who is she?

ARTURO

Allison Cooper?

NOEL

Don’t be a fool. You know what

I mean.

Arturo is silent. He sighs.

ARTURO

We just met.

 

NOEL

I figured…

ARTURO

B-But it’s not what you think!

We were… Studying! You know,

school is right around the corner,

and I hear Senior year’s the

toughest.

NOEL

No need to explain yourself to

me.

Noel looks back at Allison, who’s eating by herself.

NOEL

  I don’t trust her. Her presence

emits this dangerous aura… I

can feel like it. Hang around

her long enough, and you’ll get

it, Arturo.

Noel faces Arturo.

NOEL

I guarantee it.

Arturo begins to look rather annoyed.

NOEL

You’re old enough to choose

your own friends, I know,

but please… Choose the right

ones.

 

Allison enters the kitchen.

ALLISON

Hey. I just wanted to say

goodbye before I felt. See you

around, Arturo.

 

Allison begins to leave, but Arturo quickly runs to her.

ARTURO

Wait! I’ll walk you.

Allison smiles.

ALLISON

No, that’s okay. I can handle

it. I’m a big girl.

 

Allison winks at Arturo and leaves the house.

 

EXT. ARTURO’S HOUSE - NIGHT

 

Allison leaves Arturo’s house. She stops and looks around, alert. She dismisses it and continues to leave Arturo’s property.

The green-haired teenager emerges from the shadows once again, watching Allison.

 

CUT TO:

ACT TWO: Scene I

INT. DAVID’S BEDROOM - NIGHT

 

David is lying on his bed, listening to music on his headphones, trying to sleep. Someone rudely enters his room and turns on the lights. David is shirtless.

Annoyed, David angrily takes off his headphones and sits up, looking at the person who disturbed him.

Paige is standing by the door, wearing a tank top and a pair of very short shorts. She’s giggling, with one hand on the light switch and the other on her hip in a sexy matter.

PAIGE

Sorry, were you busy? If so, I

can just leave.

Paige giggles in a devious matter.

DAVID

(Agitated) NO.

Paige giggles again.

DAVID

You gotta stop doing this, Paige.

PAIGE

Doing what?

Paige winks and hops on David’s bed, looking at him in a seductive matter.

DAVID

That! We’re brother and sister

for Christ’s sake! You can’t

You can’t come here being sexy

or seeing me naked!

Paige becomes curious. She raises an eyebrow.

PAIGE

You’re naked?

David moves the sheets closer to him, covering his lower body. Paige giggles.

PAIGE

I’m only messing with you, David.

Besides, it’s not liked we’re

blood relatives or anything,

only by marriage. And you’re

not my type, anyway. I’m more

interested in your friend.

 

DAVID

(Confused) Steven?

PAIGE

Ugh, gross! So not funny, David!

DAVID

Oh, so you like Christy?

Paige moans loudly in frustration as she gets out of David’s bed.

PAIGE

No! That Cuban… I forgot his

name…

Paige suddenly gasps in delight and claps her hands together.

PAIGE

Oh my God… Cuban! He’s from

Florida!

 

DAVID

No… He’s not… Well, he could be,

but no one knows, not even him.

 

PAIGE

Anyway…

Paige hops on David’s bed once again.

PAIGE

  I want to go on a date with

him.

DAVID

Why?

 

PAIGE

So we can have wild-

Paige stops herself from completing her sentence. David simply stares at her. Suddenly, Paige gets angry.

PAIGE

I don’t need to explain myself

to you, David! Just call him up

and tell him you’re taking us

somewhere! Tomorrow.

DAVID

For what?

PAIGE

Don’t question me, David! Just

do what I say!

David rolls his eyes. Paige outs out of the bed, happy.

PAIGE

I can't wait to ask him what

the White House looks like!

Putting her hands on the light switch, Paige turns around and winks at David.

PAIGE

Nice bod, “brother”.

Paige giggles and turns off the lights, going back to her room while David looks at her, mortified.

CUT TO:

ACT TWO: Scene J

EXT. CONCERT ARENA ENTRANCE - DAY

 

David, Steven, Christy, Paige and Arturo are standing in front of the building. It’s abnormally hot outside. The sun is beaming in everyone’s eyes.

David is wearing a wife beater undershirt and black jeans. Paige is, as usual, wearing something short and revealing, forcing herself on Arturo, who is wearing his usual baggy clothing.

Steven and Christy are both dressed in typical summer gear. The arena is filled with people.

 

CHRISTY

Who’s performing today?

 

David shrugs.

DAVID

Somebody.

CHRISTY

That’s helpful.

 

STEVEN

I don’t really care, as long as

they don’t completely suck.

 

Paige rolls her eyes and groans in irritation. Everyone looks at her, confused.

PAIGE

Can you people stop complaining?

God! Just be glad you didn’t

pay for this, it’s not everyday

you get to hang out with me.

  STEVEN

(Low tone)

God knows I’m grateful for

that.

Christy chuckles. Meanwhile, Arturo looks a bit worn out.

ARTURO

Can we just go inside? It’s

burning up out here.

Everyone begins to enter the arena, but Paige pulls Arturo to her, separating him from everyone else. David, Christy and Steven turn around to see what is going on.

PAIGE

Arturo and I are going to hang

out on our own. You three can

leave.

 

DAVID

Well, you know where your seats

are. Let’s go.

STEVEN

Thank GOD!

David, Steven, and Christy enter the Arena. Paige looks sort of surprised.

ARTURO

So… What do you want to do?

 

Paige turns around. She smiles.

PAIGE

Um… Something? Say, have you

ever been to the White House?

Arturo gives Paige a confused look.

ARTURO

What!?

INT. SHOW ROOM – DAY

David, Christy and Steven go to their seats in the middle row. After they sit down, Christy and Steven glare at David, who looks confused. He holds up the popcorn.

 

DAVID

…Popcorn?

CHRISTY

When are you going to tell that

bitch to get some friends of her

own?

 

David looks startled by Christy’s words.

DAVID

I told you, until she gets

comfortable. She just came here

less than a month ago. Incase

you haven’t noticed, this isn’t

exactly the most likely town.

Paige hasn’t gotten used to the

change yet.

CHRISTY

Well, at the rate she’s going,

she never will. Look David, I

know you’re trying to be nice,

but that girl is really grating

my nerves. There’s a limit to

how much I can take, and she’s

really pushing it.

DAVID

Then I don’t know what to say,

Christy! She’s here to stay and

you and Steve are gonna have to

get used to it.

 

Christy rolls her eyes and sighs in anger. Steven clears his throat.

STEVEN

So, um… Pass the popcorn!

CUT TO:

ACT TWO: Scene K

 

EXT. OUTDOOR DINER - DAY

 

Paige and Arturo are sharing a funnel cake. Paige eats a piece of the funnel cake and giggles. Arturo looks really annoyed.

PAIGE

So, is that the president’s

real hair?

ARTURO

For the last time, I’m not from

Florida, and I’ve never been to

the White House.

PAIGE

So, where are you from?

ARTURO

Peru.

PAIGE

Then why are you here?

ARTURO

I was adopted.

PAIGE

Really? By who?

ARTURO

A Minister.

PAIGE

Is he Mexican too?

ARTURO

I’M NOT EVEN---!

Paige stares at Arturo in shock, with of funnel cake stuffed in her mouth. She’s blinking. Arturo sighs, calming himself down.

ARTURO

Let’s just talk about something

else.

 

Paige swallows her food.

PAIGE

Okay. So, what attracts you to

David?

Arturo spits out his drink and looks at Paige in shock. Paige laughs.

PAIGE

Soooo not what I meant. As a

friend.

Arturo sighs in relief.

ARTURO

Oh. Well, he’s a cool guy…and

come to think of it, he kinda

come on to me.

Paige lifts her eyebrows.

ARTURO

…As a friend.

PAIGE

despite David’s tacky taste in

clothing, I thought he was a

nice person, so I gave my daddy

my blessing.

ARTURO

How sweet…

Paige giggles.

PAIGE

Thank you!

Suddenly, the sky begins to glow abnormally bright. Arturo looks up at the sky in shock.

ARTURO

LOOK OUT!

Arturo quickly grabs Paige and pulls her down under the table with him.

People begin screaming as a huge comet comes from the sky and crashes into the Concert Arena, causing a huge explosion. Paige looks devastated.

PAIGE

DAVID!

 

The Concert Arena begins to explode. People begin to run for their lives. Arturo picks Paige up from the ground. She attempts to run back in there, but Arturo pulls her away.

PAIGE

Let me go!

ARTURO

  No, Paige! Calm down! Go in

there, and you die!

PAIGE

But David-

 

Arturo doesn’t answer. He appears to be saddened as well. Paige hugs him and bursts into tears.

 

The explosion from the Concert Arena grows. Arturo pulls Paige by her hand and the two of them begin running for their lives as well as everyone else.

The explosion continues to grow rapidly. At this rate, it can easily consume Arturo and Paige!

Two people, a woman and her child, hastily leave their house and begin running away with everyone else. Arturo pulls Paige into the house with him.

INT. EMPTY HOUSE – DAY

Arturo and Paige shut the door. They quickly run inside the basement.

INT. EMPTY HOUSE BASEMENT - DAY

Paige and Arturo run into the basement and slam the door behind them. They run down the stairs into safe ground. Paige falls to the ground and bursts into tears.

Angry and frustrated, Arturo begins walking back and forth. He stops and looks at Paige.

ARTURO

SHUT UP!

 

Paige looks at Arturo, shocked. Paige. The room becomes silent. Arturo walks to a corner and sits down. He sighs. He hangs his head on his hands in despair.

The only things that can be heard are explosions and sounds of people dying above. Paige goes into the opposite corner of the basement.

Arturo looks up at Paige, who’s quietly crying to herself. Arturo walks to her and kneels down beside her. He puts his arm around her and pulls her close to him.

ARTURO

I’m sorry.

Paige hugs him, crying. Moments, the noises outside comes to an end. Paige slowly gets off Arturo. Both of them look relieved.

ARTURO

It’s over.

EXT. DESERTED WASTELAND - DAY

 

Arturo and Paige exit the basement, however, they quickly notice that the house, as well as everything else, is no more. Paige gasps in absolute shock.

PAIGE

Oh my God!

Arturo and Paige are the only two people on Earth. Everyone, and everything, is gone, gone completely.

There’s nothing left but a red, dried, dusty barren. The world has apparently been destroyed, and they are the only two people left alive.

(Black Out)

ACT THREE: Scene L

(Fade In)

EXT. WASTELAND – NIGHT

Arturo and Paige are walking around as the moon shines brightly on them. Paige is walking barefoot, holding her shoes. She suddenly falls on the ground.

PAIGE

I can’t do this anymore!

(Cries) I can’t!

She begins crying. Arturo walks to her and comforts her. He puts his hands on her shoulders and pulls her close to him.

ARTURO

You can, alright? I know it’s

hard, but…

 

Paige stops crying.

ARTURO

There has to be other people

here. We can’t be the only

ones.

PAIGE

(Hostile) Sure about that? ‘Cause

from the looks of things, we are!

ARTURO

We’re not! We can’t be! If we

made it, so did others. We

need to find my dad-s

PAIGE

You’re “dad’s” as safe as my

brother.

Arturo begins to get upset, although, he’s trying to conceal it.

ARTURO

  David was close to me, too, in

fact, more so. You just met him.

PAIGE 

Your point?

 

It’s silent. Arturo gets up and begins walking away from Paige.

ARTURO

Help yourself. I’m done.

PAIGE

(Whine) Arturo! Don’t leave me!

Arturo continues to ignore her, walking away. Paige gets up and runs to him.

PAIGE

Please!

Arturo faces Paige in frustration.

ARTURO

Then stop bitching!

 

Paige rolls her eyes.

PAIGE

What-ever.

 

EXT. OASIS - NIGHT

 

Arturo and Paige come across a small oasis with a tree and a tiny lake of fresh, pure, water, which seems completely out of place with the rest of the environment.

PAIGE

Oh my God! Water!

Paige runs to the pond and begins drinking from it. She closes her eyes in joy.

PAIGE

Mm.

Arturo smiles at her. He walks to Paige and sits next to her. Paige hugs him.

 

PAIGE

Thank you!

 

Arturo chuckles.

ARTURO

No problem.

EXT. OASIS – NIGHT (LATER)

 

Paige is soaking her bare feet in the water, as well as Arturo, who has taken off his shirt and rolled up his jeans.

Paige is resting her head on his shoulder while he wraps his arm around her. Arturo has his long, wavy hair out instead of the usual ponytail.

Both of them are looking at the bright moonlight and the stars. Suddenly, someone walks behind them, however, they don’t know it.

FEMALE VOICE

Cute.

Arturo and Paige turn around. Arturo’s eyes perk up in surprise.

ARTURO

Allison?

Allison’s clothes are ripped up. She’s “dressed” in a bra and a short skirt made from her previously long dress. She’s barefooted as well.

ALLISON

Mind if I join the fun?

Arturo shakes his head and smiles.

ARTURO

Nope.

Allison smiles and sits next to him, soaking her feet in the water as well.

ALLISON

Who’s that? Your girlfriend?

Paige and Arturo look at each other, unsure of what to say. They shake their heads. There’s a long pause. Allison begins nodding her head.

ALLISON

Awesome…

It’s apparent Allison’s trying to form a conversation, but she’s failing. She gets up.

ALLISON

I’ll be back.

She walks away and walks behind the tree.

PAIGE

Ugh, what was that?

ARTURO

My friend, Alli…

Arturo suddenly stops. His eyes are wide with surprise. Paige looks at him, confused.

PAIGE

Uh huh, okay, and?

 

Arturo faces her, looking somewhat happy.

ARTURO

If Allison’s here, then so are

others! I told you Paige, we’re

not the only ones here! David

and the others must be alive

somewhere, too!

Paige sighs. She’s not as optimistic.

PAIGE

Whatever.

ALLISON’S VOICE

Arturo, can I see for a minute?

Arturo attempts to get up, but Paige grabs him.

PAIGE

Arturo, no!

 

ARTURO

Paige, I’m only going behind

the tree-(Sudden happiness) Oh!

Paige looks disgusted. Arturo walks behind to the tree to Allison, who’s leaning against it.

ALLISON

So, the world’s destroyed and

everyone’s dead. What a day

this was.

ARTURO

Yeah.

 

Allison walks behind him and wraps her arms around him, laying her head on his back.

ALLISON

God, I’m scared. I don’t know

what’s going to happen next.

You’ll be here with me, right?

 

Arturo turns around to face Allison.

ARTURO

Of course. Did you honestly

expect me to just up and leave

you? You’re not pregnant.

(Stern look) …Are you?

ALLISON

No!

Arturo sighs in relief.

ARTURO

Oh, I’m about to say… I mean,

it’s not it’d be mine---If you

were, you know, pregnant.

Because to pregnant, you would

have to sex first, in which we

didn’t.

ALLISON

Yeah, I got it.

Arturo chuckles. Allison smiles at him as well. Suddenly, Arturo moans in pain as he collapses on the ground. Allison looks down at his body and smiles.

Arturo has been stabbed by a tiny dart. Allison kneels down and removes the dart from his body.

ALLISON

Dork.

 

CUT TO:

ACT THREE: Scene M

INT. DUNGEON CELL - DAY

 

Arturo suddenly wakes up. He looks around in confusion. He finds himself in some form of cell or dungeon. He’s wearing a typical white T-shirt with his same baggy jeans.

His cell opens. The mysterious green-haired teenage male along with Allison, now wearing a tight suit having her hair in a ponytail, enters the cell. Allison smiles deviously.

ALLISON

Mornin’ sunshine. Well, actually,

we can’t really see the sun

anymore.

 

Angry, Arturo goes to confront her, but the mysterious teenager grabs him before he can get to her. Allison laughs.

ALLISON

Bitter much?

ARTURO

What the hell is this?

ALLISON

You’ll find out soon. Taji,

let him go. He can’t hurt me.

 

Taji gets off Arturo like he was asked, but not before shoving him. Allison chuckles. Taji walks behind her as Arturo glares at Allison.

ARTURO

Allison, tell me what’s going

on.

AYLICA

The name’s Aylica. Learn it. No

one calls me Allison.

 

TAJI

Let’s go. Boss wants to see him.

 

Aylica nods. Taji grabs Arturo as the three of them leave the dungeon area.

INT. MASTER ROOM - DAY

 

Aylica, Arturo, and Taji enter a large room filled with plants, paintings, and shiny jewelry everywhere. There’s a large window in the front of the room.

A dark man with long dreadlocks, wearing a black suit, is standing in front of it. To the right of the entrance, is a wide screen TV and game console systems surrounding it.

A teenage male, around seventeen years of age, is sitting on one of the large couches in front of the television, playing the game.

 

Aylica and Taji walk to the dark man. They bow.

AYLICA

Here he is, sir.

The man turns around and smiles.

DWIGHT

Thank you, Cooper. Fulghum,

bring him to me.

Taji grabs Arturo and brings him to the man. Arturo doesn’t look the least bit of pleased. The man walks to Arturo and smiles.

DWIGHT

What is your name, young man?

ARTURO 

None of your damn business.

Taji pushes Arturo, causing him to fall on the floor.

TAJI

Respect him!

  

Arturo moans in pain. He slowly gets back up on his feet.

DWIGHT

I’ll ask again. Your name is?

ARTURO

Arturo… Rodriguez.

 

DWIGHT

Pleasure’s mine, Rodriguez. I’m

Dwight Baker, the head of this

company. I’m going to make things

simple. There’s a reason you

survived the comet hit, or what

we call, the ‘Demolition’. It

wasn’t a miracle or any act of

‘God’. You survived because you

were chosen to. There are others

out there like you, Taji Fulghum

and Aylica Cooper being two of them.

The prophecy states that there are

ten total survivers the blast. My

goal is to find them all.

ARTURO

Why?

 

DWIGHT

To find Niilo, a spell with the

power to change worlds. If I

find it, I can use it to our

benefit.

ARTURO

Okay… So this has what to do

with me again?

AYLICA

The Niilo chooses who it wants.

It can only work when all of

the Chosen are present. We

still have seven more to find.

Arturo looks at Dwight, trying to hide his laughter. It’s apparent that he doesn’t believe anything he’s hearing.

ARTURO

So, I’m one of the “Chosen

Ten”, huh? It’s kind of ironic

how out of all the billion plus

people on Earth, I just happen

to be one of the special few.

 

Dwight doesn’t respond. He simply chuckles. He walks to a table and presses a button.

Suddenly, a holographic map of Earth appears in place of the window. There’s a red, flaming circle, pinpointing Arturo’s previous location.

The map then zooms in on the pinpoint. It begins to reveal Arturo’s old neighborhood, the place he used to live. His eyes perk up in shock. Dwight turns to him.

 

DWIGHT

Look familiar?

ARTURO

This can’t be real.

DWIGHT

There are ten crystals, each

possessing knowledge of the

whereabouts of the Chosen. We

find them, we find the Chosen.

Understand?

Arturo slowly nods his head. He begins pinching himself.

ARTURO

Sure… (He stops) Ow…

DWIGHT

  Good, because I have a mission

for you. There’s an old ruin

that contains more of these

crystals. Find them and bring

them to me. The Chosen should

all be alive somewhere in this

time period.

ARTURO

Time period?

DWIGHT

Welcome to the year 3995, over

a thousand years ahead of your

time.

 

Arturo stares at Dwight in total disbelief.

ARTURO

It’s time I wake up, now.

DWIGHT

Cooper, Fulghum, take Rodriguez

to the ruins. It’s time to test

his power.

ARTURO

Huh?

 

Aylica and Taji nod. They begin to leave, but Arturo stays behind. Aylica and Taji turn around, annoyed with him.

AYLICA

(Annoyed) Let’s go.

  ARTURO

Where’s Paige?

AYLICA

She’s fine. Now let’s go.

ARTURO

Where is she?

AYLICA

I told you, she’s fine. You’ll

see her when we return. Quit

wasting time.

Arturo hesitates to go to them. He sighs and walks to Aylica and Taji anyway. Before the three teens head out the door, Dwight begins to speak.

DWIGHT

Before you leave, please, take

Tran with you.

 

Aylica’s and Taji’s eyes suddenly perk up. They look mortified.

AYLICA

T-That’s fine, sir. Really…

 

Dwight begins to lose his patience.

DWIGHT

Take. Him. Please.

 

Aylica and Taji sigh in annoyance. Arturo has no idea what is going on. Dwight walks to the teenager sitting on the sofa, playing the video game.

DWIGHT

  Tran, there’s a job for you.

TRAN

I’m busy.

 

DWIGHT

(Sternly) Tran. 

 

Tran groans in irritation and throws the controller on the floor.

TRAN

Fine!

Tran looks to be between seventeen or maybe even eighteen years of age. He’s average in height. He has brown skin and his eyes are bright red, like his father.

His face appears very feminine, and from certain angles, he can even looks like a female. He has medium length dark brown locks. He’s wearing designer clothes and shoes.

Tran walks towards to Aylica, Taji, and Arturo with a very agitated look on his face.

DWIGHT

  This is my son, Tran Baker.

He is the first Chosen. He’s

agility and strength makes him

an excellent fighter.

Aylica and Taji roll their eyes. Tran looks displeased with Arturo.

TRAN

This is the guy you’ve been

looking for? I thought he’d be…

You know… Tough?

 

AYLICA

He’s the second. Technically,

he is.

 

TRAN

Whatev-

ARTURO

Don’t say that word. Please.

Tran shrugs.

TRAN

I’ll be downstairs.

Tran leaves the room.

DWIGHT

Taji, Aylica, take Arturo to

the locker room. He needs to

get dressed.

 

Taji nods.

AYLICA

Will do, sir.

 

CUT TO:

 ACT THREE: Scene M

INT. LOCKER ROOM – DAY

Taji and Arturo are changing into their clothes. The room is silent. Taji puts on black sweats, black boots and a long, green shirt.

Taji is looking in the mirror, spiking up his bright, green hair.

Arturo, wearing only a pair of black jeans with a gold stripe in the middle, and white socks, chuckles at Taji. Taji glares at him.

TAJI

…What?

ARTURO

You go out looking like that?

TAJI

…Yes… Why? (Threatening) What’s

wrong with my hair?

ARTURO

Nothing. I just… Never saw

anything like that before.

 

Taji ignores Arturo and continues to spike his hair.

TAJI

You’re going to see many things

you aren’t used to seeing. Better

get used to it.

The room becomes silent. Arturo puts on a pair of white shoes. As he ties his shoestrings, he begins whistling. Taji looks at him in annoyance.

 

TAJI

Stop.

 

Arturo looks at Taji, and laughs deviously. He whistles again.

TAJI

Stop!

Arturo continues to whistle.

TAJI

STOP IT!

 

Arturo laughs.

ARTURO

Sorry. Bored.

The door to the locker room opens. Aylica enters the room and leans against the door, smiling at the two boys. She looks at Arturo and giggles slightly.

Aylica’s uniform consists of a sleeve-less short skirt with long purple boots and purple gloves that look more like claws.

She’s showing some cleavage, but not much. Her bright lipstick matches her hair color, which is styled in wild, semi-spiky, 80s-styled hairdo.

AYLICA

You two are still getting

dressed? I thought I was working

with two guys. Whoops.

 

Arturo laughs and puts on a shirt.

ARTURO

I’m done.

Arturo suddenly begins staring at Aylica. Taji still continues to look in the mirror, ignoring them.

Aylica chuckles.

AYLICA

Take a picture. It’ll last

longer. Plus, it’s even portable,

so you can carry it with you

during those lonely nights.

 

Arturo’s face begins to look a bit grossed out. Aylica laughs.

AYLICA

I’m kidding. Let’s go.

INT. DUNGEON CELL - DAY

Paige is alone in a cell, still unconscious. A male can be heard whistling pleasurably at her. The whistle causes Paige to awaken.

She gets up and looks around the cell, confused. She looks at the person standing in front of her cell and screams loudly in fear.

 

TRAN

I never had a girl scream at

me like that before. Well, not

this soon.

 

Paige runs to the cell bars.

PAIGE

Get me out of here.

Tran chuckles.

TRAN

You’re cute.

PAIGE

I said, let me out. What is

this place anyway, a garbage

can?

TRAN

Which makes you the actual

garbage.

Paige becomes silent.

TRAN

I’ll let you out, but only

under one condition.

PAIGE

What?

 

Tran chuckles deviously.

INT. GLASS CITY ENTRANCE - DAY

  

Arturo, Aylica, and Taji are waiting at the gate of the palace. Arturo looks around in amazement.

The city is huge, with many people walking around, doing ordinary things such as talking to other people, shopping or just hanging out.

The entire city is shielded by a gigantic glass, covering the whole city from the outside world, a dry, red, dark, barren world, completely different from the old Earth.

Aylica waits impatiently by the gate. Tran shows up, walking to the others nonchalantly. Aylica walks to him.

 

AYLICA

What is wrong with you? We’ve

been waiting here for God

knows how long!

TRAN

Be glad I even bothered to show

up.

 

AYLICA

Why aren’t you in your uniform?

TRAN

  And wear those stupid little

get-ups? No thanks.

 

AYLICA

Whatever, let’s just go. The

quicker we get you home, the

better.

 

TRAN

I couldn’t agree more.

 

Ignoring Aylica and Tran, Taji leaves the shielded city, followed by Arturo, and soon to be Aylica and Tran.

ACT FOUR: Scene N

EXT. TEMPLE - DAY

 

Arturo, Aylica, Taji, and Tran arrive at a enormous temple. They look at it in awe. The temple looks sort of like a pyramid. It’s surrounded in dust.

Tran coughs, accidentally inhaling some of the dust. Taji looks at him.

TAJI

You okay?

Tran coughs again.

TRAN

Of course I am. I don’t need

you babysitting me.

Aylica rolls her eyes.

AYLICA

C’mon, the faster we get this

done, the faster pretty boy gets

home to his daddy.

Aylica walks inside the shrine, followed by Arturo, Taji, and lastly, Tran.

INT. TEMPLE HALLWAY - DAY

The temple quickly “lights up” when Arturo, Aylica, Taji, and Tran enter. Bats are flying all over the place.

Tran hides behind Arturo and Taji, both who sigh in annoyance. All the bats hastily fly down a long, dark, hallway. Taji begins to follow them, but Arturo grabs him.

TAJI

What are you doing? Get off!

ARTURO

Are you crazy? You don’t know

what’s down there!

TAJI

Then we find out.

AYLICA

Arty-boy does make a good

point.

Everyone looks at Aylica.

AYLICA

We better be careful. Everyone,

take out your guns.

Taji and Tran take out their guns. Taji loads his gun, while Tran tries to load his, but with no luck.

Arturo looks around confused. He doesn’t have a weapon. Aylica throws him her gun. He barely manages to catch it.

AYLICA

Here, take mine. It’s not like

I need it.

Aylica winks.

INT. FOUNTAIN ROOM - DAY

Arturo, Aylica, Taji, and Tran arrive at a huge and beautiful room. Arturo and Taji look at it in awe. It’s a huge room, beautiful too.

There’s a fountain in the middle filled with pure, fresh, running water. On top of the fountain, is a glowing blue crystal emitting bright light.

Aylica walks to the fountain. She takes off her long gloves and runs her bare hands through the water. She smiles.

AYLICA

Water… It’s beautiful.

Tran walks to the fountain. He digs in his pocket and takes out a penny. He flicks it in the fountain. Aylica looks at him with her mouth open in shock. Tran simply shrugs.

ARTURO

So… Anyone gettin’ that?

TRAN

Not me.

AYLICA

Typical.

Taji walks to the fountain.

TAJI

(Over confidence) Watch out.

Taji jumps in the fountain and climbs on the long pole to reach the glowing crystal.

He touches the crystal, prepared to grab it, when suddenly; he’s shocked by lightening and thrown into the water of the fountain.

Aylica gasps while Arturo walks to the fountain. Tran walks behind everyone, making sure he stays out of sight.

AYLICA

God, Taji! Are you okay?

TAJI

I’ve been hit with worse…

Arturo gets in the fountain and helps Taji up. Taji leans over in pain. He looks at Arturo.

TAJI

…Thanks.

Arturo nods.

Suddenly, the room begins shaking. The crystal becomes shielded by black shield as a giant hole appears in the ceiling.

Giant bats begin flying from the ceiling, attacking the group of four.

AYLICA

Take out your weapons! It’s

battle time.

Aylica puts on her gloves and begins slashing the bats that fly her way.

Taji and Tran shoot the bats with ease. Arturo, however, struggles with even holding the gun. Taji and Tran face Arturo.

TAJI

Shoot!

ARTURO

I’m trying! What do I press?

TRAN

Uh, the trigger?

Arturo suddenly becomes bombarded with bats. He falls completely on the ground as the giant bats continue to attack him.

AYLICA

Arturo!

Taji sighs in annoyance. He creates electric balls and throws them at the bats attacking Arturo, blowing them up. Taji walks to Arturo.

TAJI

Learn how to fight. Something

like this happens again and

you’re dead.

ARTURO

Thanks…

Taji suddenly screams as he’s carried off by a swarm of giant bats. Aylica begins shooting purple beams at the bats, but the beams bounce off.

AYLICA

Damn it! They created a shield!

Tran begins shooting the shielded bats. His gunshots bounce off the bats and reflect back at him. He moans in pain as he falls to his knees.

AYLICA

Did I not just say they created

a shield?

TRAN

Well, I didn’t hear you!

More bats begin surrounding Taji to the point where he can’t be seen.

Arturo then moans in pain. He beats his chest as he falls on one knee. Aylica and Tran look at him, wondering what is going on with him.

Arturo slowly begins glowing white. A bright light shines from him that kills all of the bats. Aylica and Tran shield their eyes as the blast becomes brighter.

The bats turn into dust and Taji falls hard on the ground. The shine vanishes, and Arturo faints.

CUT TO:

ACT FOUR: Scene O

INT. MASTER ROOM - DAY

Tran is yelling at Dwight, who’s simply staring out the window, with his hands behind his back.

TRAN

You liar! You told me I was

the first born!

DWIGHT

You are.

TRAN

Then why don’t I have powers

like that? Hell, even Taji and

Aylica can kick my ass!

DWIGHT

Be patient. Your powers will

awaken soon. In the meantime…

Watch your mouth.

Tran narrows his eyes at his father. The door opens. Tran glares at the person who enters the room, Arturo. Dwight faces him as well.

TRAN

Speak of the devil.

Tran walks to Arturo and pushes him out the way. He walks out the room and slams the door. Arturo looks confused.

DWIGHT

Ignore him.

DWIGHT

He knows. He isn’t a Chosen.

ARTURO

So why did you lie to him?

DWIGHT

He gets annoying.

Dwight walks to Arturo.

DWIGHT

So, is this finally real enough

for you?

ARTURO

Yeah… It is… Very real…

Dwight nods.

ARTURO

I want to see Paige.

DWIGHT

She’s being taken care of,

don’t worry.

Arturo looks disappointed.

DWIGHT

I have Fulghum and Cooper

retrieving the other two

crystals you missed earlier. I

have other uses for you.”

ARTURO

Such as?

DWIGHT

Your power is strong, Rodriguez,

and without proper control, it’ll

be harmful to us, and yourself. I

know a specialist who can help

you train your power, the same

person who trained Taji and Aylica.

Arturo crosses his arms, purposely being difficult. He closes his eyes and looks away from Dwight.

ARTURO

I’m not interested.

DWIGHT

Her name is India James.

Arturo quickly becomes interested in the conversation, unfolding his arms.

ARTURO

On second thought.

DWIGHT

She lives downtown. I’ll arrange

a meeting for the two of you.

ARTURO

India, right? Is she hot?

DWIGHT

…You’ll see.

CUT TO:

ACT THREE: Scene P

INT. LIMOUSINE - DAY

Arturo is being driven in an expensive and fancy limousine. He’s listening to a pair of headphones loudly, shaking his head to the song while drinking a soda can.

Several empty and squeezed soda cans are lying on the floor. Arturo is obviously excited.

Two security guards are sitting in front of him, staring at him blankly. The limo suddenly stops, causing Arturo to bump his head to the back of the seat.

ARTURO

Ow!

The door opens, and the security guards escort Arturo out.

EXT. RENEWERS HIDEOUT - DAY

Arturo looks at the tall building in front of him in slight disappointment.

The tall building looks severely rundown. The walls are cracked, and the paint is peeling off. The windows are broken, and there are vines growing all around the building. Arturo gulps.

EXT. RENEWERS BASE - DAY

Arturo enters the main base with the four security guards surrounding him. Arturo’s eyes perk up in amazement.

The base is gigantic, more like a house of its own. There’s an arcade, a basketball court, an indoor swimming pool, and of course, a “meeting” table covered with diagrams and maps.

The base is filled with teenagers all Arturo’s age, and some even a little younger. All of them are busy doing one of the many things in the entertainment center-themed room.

A tall, physically fit woman is talking to a man about her age and height.

The woman turns around. She smiles and walks to Arturo. The man nods and walks away, joining the other guys in the basketball court.

The woman crosses her arms and shoots Arturo a feisty, sexy look. A large portion of her cleavage is showing.

She’s amazingly beautiful, whose style of clothing consists of a tank top, tight shorts that shows off her long, beautiful, caramel legs, and a pair of sneakers.

She has hazel eyes, beautiful honey brown skin, and beautiful dark brown hair. The woman looks very athletic; it’s obvious she keeps herself active often.

INDIA

You must be Arturo Rodriguez.

Mr. Baker told me about you.

Arturo is staring at India’s cleavage.

ARTURO

I bet…

INDIA

India James.

India reaches out for a handshake, snapping Arturo back into reality. He shakes her hand.

ARTURO

Oh, sorry. My name is-

INDIA

Arturo Rodriguez? I know. You

aren’t very attentive, are you?

ARTURO

Huh?

India chuckles.

INDIA

So, you’re the first born? Good.

Come on now, let’s get to work.

There’s a lot I need to cover.

India walks away. Arturo follows her. India begins talking while showing Arturo around the “entertainment center”.

INDIA

We’re the “Renewers”, and this

is our base. Not quite what you’d

expect from the outside, but there’s

a reason why it looks like crap.

If we’re ever in danger, who’d

come looking for us here? Surely

not me, would you? Would anyone?

Arturo smiles.

INDIA

The kids here, while not one

of the Chosen, choose to help

anyway, so they come here to

train. Such sweet kids.

India walks pass a group of boys, who whistles at her. India smiles and winks at them.

ARTURO

But why? Don’t they have anything

else to look forward to?

India turns around and looks at Arturo. She laughs.

INDIA

Are you kidding me? Take a look

outside, Rodriguez. What is out

there to look forward to? The

Niilo is all we have. If we find

it first, then we can start

dreaming again.

India turns around and continues to show Arturo around the base.

INDIA

Until then, we’re machines.

Fighting the fight until one

of us dies. Sort of like Beast

Wars.

ARTURO

…Huh??

INT. SCANNING ROOM - DAY

India and Arturo enter a small room that consists of a small table, a map hanging on the wall, and a tube.

Arturo looks at the tube in confusion. India walks to the map and rolls it up.

INDIA

Like I told you earlier, we

are the ‘Renewers’. As you

already know, Niilo has the

power to change worlds, and

we want to change this world

back to the way it was. And,

as you should know, ‘cause

it’s in every book, movie, and

television show ever created,

when there’s good, there’s evil.

Someone out there wants Niilo

for himself too, and I don’t

think he wants to turn Earth

into big, happy, blue place

again. Now, take off your

clothes.

Arturo is caught by surprise.

ARTURO

What?

INDIA

I can’t examine your powers

while you’re wearing clothes.

The rays, while powerful, are

very thin. They won’t get

through.

ARTURO

So… You want me to…

India chuckles as she walks to Arturo.

INDIA

What’s wrong? Shy down there?

Baby.

India begins pinching Arturo’s cheek, talking as if he’s a child.

ARTURO

Stop!

India begins laughing hysterically. Suddenly, the door opens. A man walks in, the same man India was talking to earlier.

INDIA

Bruce. Need something?

India walks to him. Bruce is a simple looking man. He’s a light skinned African American male, his brown locks are only shoulder length, and his clothing is very Abercrombie.

India and Bruce share a kiss. Arturo bitterly looks away.

BRUCE

I thought you might’ve needed

something.

He gives India a bottle of water. She takes it.

INDIA

Thank you, honey.

The two share another kiss. Arturo begins coughing. India and Bruce look at him. Arturo clears his throat.

ARTURO

Sorry.

INDIA

Right. Why are those clothes

still on?

CUT TO:

ACT FOUR: Scene P

INT. SCANNING ROOM - DAY

Arturo is in the tube, naked, with his clothes laid neatly on the table. A virtual image of Arturo’s body appears in front of the room. When Arturo’s body in the tube glows, so does the virtual image.

India is wearing a pair of glasses, observing the image closely. Bruce is sitting in a chair by the table, eating a bag of popcorn. He doesn’t look very interested.

BRUCE

What does all that junk mean?

INDIA

It’s extraordinary. I know the

first born is supposed to be

the most powerful, but… This is

absolutely insane.

Bruce shrugs.

BRUCE

Whatever.

Bruce stuffs a hand full of popcorn in his mouth.

Arturo continues to glow brighter, as well as his virtualized imagine. India begins blinking her eyes, while Bruce covers his.

When Arturo glows too bright, India quickly turns off the tube and the light vanishes. Arturo falls, panting and sweating heavily.

India walks to the tube and opens it. Arturo stands up.

INDIA

That’s it for today. Tomorrow,

we’ll begin the training process

after I review the scans.

India gives Arturo a towel.

INDIA

Here you go, girly.

Arturo takes the towel.

ARTURO

Thanks…

Arturo wipes the sweat off his face and body, and then wraps the towel around him. He steps out of the tube, and Bruce opens up his eyes again.

Bruce stands up and dusts the crumbs off his shirt.

BRUCE

Well, that was interesting.

INT. RENEWERS SHOWER ROOM - DAY

Arturo is talking a shower. He holds his head is he suddenly begins moaning in pain.

INT. WHITE PLANE

An exotic Hispanic girl, his age, is in a room filled with bright light. She has medium-length jet-black hair.

MYSTERIOUS GIRL

Arturo!

INT. RENEWERS SHOWER ROOM

The image disappears. Arturo slowly begins to hold up his head. He looks confused.

INT. INDIA’S ROOM

India is typing on her computer, drinking a warm cup of coffee. Bruce appears behind her. He begins rubbing her shoulders, giving her a massage. India smiles.

INDIA

Thanks. I needed that.

Bruce pulls a chair next to her and sits down. He’s wearing a wife beater and black shorts. He’s barefoot.

BRUCE

Find anything out, yet?

INDIA

Did I. I think I found out too

much. I expected him to be

powerful, but not this much.

He easily blows Taji and Aylica

completely out of the water.

He is by far unlike anything

we’ve ever encountered.

BRUCE

That can’t be bad, right? He’s

on our side. That’s good for us,

right?

INDIA

That’s a simple way of putting

it. We just have to make sure

he remains our property. If he

gets in the wrong hands…poof!

We’re screwed.

BRUCE

Sounds like a blast.

INDIA

Literally. Say, would you mind

taking him home? I still have

more studying to do.

BRUCE

No. Course not.

India smiles and kisses Bruce.

INDIA

Thank you, teddy bear. Love you.

BRUCE

Love you too, cookie.

Bruce kisses India on her forehead. He puts on a shirt and a pair of flip-flops and leaves the room. India puts back on her glasses and continues with her studies.

CUT TO:

ACT FOUR: Scene Q

INT. BRUCE’S CAR - NIGHT

Bruce is driving Arturo. The car is silent. It’s nearly pitch-black outside.

ARTURO

So… Is India your girlfriend?

BRUCE

No, she’s my mom.

Arturo widens his eyes in shock. Bruce bursts into laughter.

BRUCE

Kidding. We’ve been dating for

several months. At first I thought

I couldn’t handle all this Niilo

stuff, but I like that she’s so

dedicated to this. She really wants

to do some good, and I’m with her

all the way

ARTURO

I have a question, one that’s

been bugging the hell out of

me for the longest. Why are you

here? Why are any of us here?

If the world’s destroyed, shouldn’t

we all be dead?

BRUCE

Apparently, there were a group

of people that knew about this

thing for thousands of years.

They spent several centuries

building an underground city to

live in when the Demolition hit.

A semi large portion of the world

actually bought that crap, so

after the Demolition, they built

the city here, where we’ve been

living for over a thousand years.

The people that built this city,

and the underground one, were

Dwight Baker’s ancestors.

Arturo looks surprised.

INT. HOME MANSION ENTRANCE - NIGHT

Arturo enters Dwight’s mansion. A heard of people are gathered around the auditorium. The line is very long, and filled with girls and boys, ages eleven through late-teens.

Curious, Arturo walks to the line. He stands on his tiptoes to see a little bit of what’s inside, but has no luck. He sighs.

TEENYBOPPER #1

They’re so gonna make the hottest

couple ever!

TEENYBOPPER #2

So not. Why would he pick her?

I’m totally prettier.

A male security guard walks all the way to the end of the line, to Arturo. He’s holding a picture of Arturo in his hands.

SECURITY GUARD

Are you Arturo Rodriguez?

Arturo cautiously nods.

SECURITY GUARD

Come with me.

INT. AUDITORIUM - NIGHT

The auditorium is huge, filled with gold. It’s filled with teenagers. The security guard takes Arturo to a seat all the way in the front of the auditorium.

Suddenly, the lights dim out, and the auditorium becomes filled with golden lights. The teenage girls scream and cheer for joy as Tran walks to the balcony. He bows.

It becomes quiet.

TRAN

Thank you, thank you! While I

may no longer be a Chosen, I’m

still amazingly handsome, and

still a star! I’ve finally found

someone really special who also

agrees that I’m the greatest man

alive. Please, give it up for

Paige Smith! Er… I mean, my wife,

Paige Baker!

Arturo’s eyes lit up in shock. Paige, wearing a wedding dress, happily walks beside Tran, smiling happily and blowing kisses at the audience. Arturo’s mouth drops. He looks completely dumbfounded.

ARTURO

What the f-
