Outsiders Webquest: 1960s Culture

Before You Begin:

• Visit the website Login using your Novell username and password.

• Click “Docs,” and find the button labeled “CREATE.” Choose “Create Document.”

• Find the blue button labeled “Share.” Share your document with Mrs. Nicholson and the students in your group by typing the names of your teacher and group members in the “Add People” blank. YOU WILL USE THIS DOCUMENT TO COMPLETE ALL OF YOUR WORK AND EASILY SHARE IT WITH YOUR TEACHER AND GROUP MEMBERS.

Begin Your Webquest:

• Visit the website . Read the information under the tabs labeled “Title,” Introduction,” and “Task.”

• Click on the tab labeled “Process.” Copy and paste all the information under “Part 1,” “Part 2,” and “Resources” into your open Google document.

• Using the resources provided, answer each question in step 1 and step 2 in your Google Doc. You may include words and/or pictures in your responses.

** Even though you have a partner for this assignment, you MUST complete the Webquest independently. You will work with your partner to create a Glogster virtual poster using the information that you each found on the webquest.

Create Your Product:

After you have finished the Webquest questions, meet with your partner and decide which information you learned was the most interesting or exciting to you (ex. ‘60s fashion, gang history, or the costs of consumer products in the ‘60s). Compare the information that you each recorded on this topic, then re-visit the websites dedicated to the topic of your choice in order to learn more. To demonstrate the knowledge that you’ve gained on this topic in 1960s culture, you will create a GLOGSTER virtual poster featuring the topic of your choice. To create your glogster:

• Visit and register for a (FREE) account. Only ONE group member needs to do this.

• Use text, pictures, and other graphics to create a Glogster poster featuring the aspect of ‘60s culture that you’ve chosen to study. Be sure to include a short summary describing your choice, relevant facts/information about the topic, and pictures and graphics that make your product appealing and interesting.

When you’ve completed your Glogster, you may PRINT it from the colored printer and turn it in to Mrs. N. You do not have to turn in the Webquest questions, since you should have “shared” this document with your teacher.
