THESIS: From 1914 to 1918 was a great period called World War I, or the Great War, due to the war human progress began to steadily depreciate, expansion for countries had a sudden halt, many people began to shift into a lower social status, technological innovations began to revolve around destruction whereas the use of mankind, and countries began to have economical struggles as large amounts had to be paid in order to succeed on the battlefield, all of these factors greatly effected countries goal to gain power and expand as a nation ending the progress they had been making in the prior 100 years.

HISTORIANS VIEWPOINT: According to Niall Ferguson, European leaders such as Hitler were very shocked as they didn’t benefit from the war, thus they really did think they were going to benefit from the war. FACT 3: In contrast Lenin thought that the only war to maintain a country’s economy is if a country takes full participation in wars, Lenin was very confident that his country would benefit from the war, thus he confidently joined wars (DOC 10). SEGUE: World War I caused many horrible changes to occur which caused human progress that had been being achieved the previous 100 years to halt (Bulliet 738)..
TOPIC SENTENCE: As World War I progress humans progress severely decreased when compared to the previous 100 years which in evolved am incredible amount of human progress which included many countries to follow the idea of imperialism which helped the country grow greatly. CHANGE OVER TIME: After World War I countries began to recuperate from there great loss after the war. SHORT TERM EFFECT: Due to the effects of World War I, a Second World War started and the Holocaust erupted by Hitler as he wanted to destroy all Jews for no good reason (Armstrong, 239). LONG TERM EFFECT: For centuries after World War I the idea of imperialism for many countries came to a halt and the boundaries that countries maintained after the Second World War remained the same. CLOSURE: Due to the horrific World War that occurred in 1914, many countries suffered great losses and human progress began to greatly depreciate, social status began to drop for many countries as economies began to drastically fall due to the loss as imperialism that new leaders believed in.
