Copley Junior School’s Child Friendly Policy

Copley Junior School’s Child Friendly Policy

Anti-Bullying Policy

Policies are very important to everyone at Copley Junior School. This is because they help explain all the rules and procedures that should be followed in school by all the adults and all the children. The Anti-Bullying Policy helps to explain lots of things.

We have listed some of these below:

“This policy will help you recognise and understand what bullying is.” Elliot D

“Bullying is when things have gone too far and are happening constantly. There are many types of bullying, for example cyber bullying, physical bullying and name calling.” Max E

“Cyber-bullying is where someone is always upsetting you but you don’t know who they are because it is online.” India F

“Cyber bullying could include sending emails, photos and messages that upset you. If this happens to you, you must tell a teacher or adult.” Zoe L

“Bullying is not when children fall out or won’t take turns. This might be selfish but it is not bullying.” Ella B

If you are being bullied or you think someone is being bullied, always tell an adult.” Heidi A

“If you are being bullied or something is upsetting you, you must tell your teacher or an adult in school.” Fraser I

“A good friend is someone who helps people if they have been hurt or upset.” Jamie T

“You should be kind and helpful all the time and a good friend will help you find a friend to play with.” Joe B

“If you are being bullied don’t try to deal with it yourself. You have got to tell your parents, friends and teachers in school so they can help you straightaway.” Ella B

When we think about this policy, we think about everyone in school. We have lots of thoughts about why this policy is needed and what it can help to achieve. We want a happy school and have listed some of our ideas of what this might mean in relation to this policy.

“Never be a bully yourself, it will never get you anywhere in life.” Elliot D

“I think a friend is someone who helps you and is caring to you.” Olivia D’S

“I think a true friend is someone who will care for you and support you through the good and bad times.” Brooke E

“Children should be caring, sharing and kind and you should never be a bully.” Amelia F

“I think a friend is someone who is caring, kind and can be trusted.” Jenny M

“We should help people by being a friend not a bully.” Jenny M

“If you are being bullied don’t keep it a secret. Tell someone straightaway.” Joshua W

“Always tell the truth. If you don’t, you will only be found out and then you will be in more trouble.” Finlay B

“If you see someone being a bully, tell them to stop doing it. If you see it happening again, you should go and tell the teacher.” Joshua L
