Virginia Tech Answer:YESVendor Question:Are all Asset tags historized? Virginia Tech Answer:No, so far only three buildings have been integrated and the associated tags have been historized. VT is planning to integrate ten buildings per year and all tags will need to be mapped form Siemens Apogee BAS and historized. We are currently mapping between 300 to 500 BAS points for each building (from BAS) based on the building size and complexity of mechanical systemVendor Question:Which Virginia Tech representatives will be attending the Pre Proposal conference? Virginia Tech Answer:Facilities Operations team will attend the pre-proposal meeting including folks form Engineering, Energy Management, Instrumentation and Controls, Procurement and IT for Administration. Vendor Question:Will there be a WebEx option for the pre-proposal conference to be held at 10am on December 5, 2017? Virginia Tech Answer:NOVendor Question:Provide a breakdown of equipment types and quantities for each Building. Virginia Tech Answer:For each new building to be integrated to Genesis 64 platform, VT Facilities team will provide a spreadsheet detailing equipment (asset) types, their quantities (IDs), location in the asset tree, as well as the list of associated BAS tags (BACnet objects) with their original BAS names (Object name), device ID, and physical description Vendor Question:Provide gross square footage and annual utility spend for each Building. Virginia Tech Answer:We have close to 11 mil sq.ft. of conditions space and the overall utility spend for Blacksburg campus is close to $27 million.Vendor Question:Can we move up the Schedule of Buildings/year? Virginia Tech Answer:Potentially, yes Vendor Question:Would you be looking for a 1 – 1.5 year schedule to complete all? Virginia Tech Answer:Potentially, yes, but will require a significant effort on our sideVendor Question:Can you share server architecture design/layout? Virginia Tech Answer:The server architecture is fairly simple. ICONICS consists of two servers, one application/web server and a database server. Both of these servers are Hyper V Virtual Servers with lots of RAM and Processor (This can be easily changed since they are virtualized). They are both running Windows Server 2012R2 as the operating system.Vendor Question:Is there a Development environment that Buildings are created on and once approved moved to production environment? Virginia Tech Answer:Not yet, but VT Facilities is working on procuring additional licenses for a development environment, hope to get that established in a couple of months.Vendor Question:What is the number of Buildings already on the platform? Virginia Tech Answer:Three buildings have been integrated to various degrees.Vendor Question:Is VPN access available to systems for remote workforce?(US Based) Virginia Tech Answer:YESVendor Question:Are there any issues with the current environment? Virginia Tech Answer:NO, the system is up and running with no major issues so far.Vendor Question:Is the base ICONICS system deployed at Virginia Tech or is deployment of the initial system included in addition to defining & deploying FDD rules for mechanical equipment? Virginia Tech Answer:The base Genesis 64 platform has been deployed in 2016 on VT servers. Facilities is planning to integrate ten buildings per year to the platform. There are about 160 buildings on the main campus in Blacksburg.Vendor Question:Is/will the ICONICS system be an on premise system, or a cloud based system that acquires data remotely from campus? Virginia Tech Answer:All systems are deployed using local VT servers maintained by central IT.Vendor Question:The pricing model does not allow for suggestions/enhancements, however, it is stated in VII., A., 4,a., to suggest pricing for other services. Has a review been done and is there a listing of improvements, like:- Additional/enhancement graphics/dashboards required? Virginia Tech Answer:Facilities is interested in exploring enhancements to graphical interface, dashboards, views, reports, energy graphs, etc. Bidders are welcome to provide suggestions and pricing for these services.- All Fault rules created for equipment classes? Virginia Tech Answer:Facilities is working on establishing the rules per classes with Iconics’s QPS team but bidders are welcome to provide suggestions and pricing for these services.- Additional External sources, i.e. WO system? Virginia Tech Answer:Facilities will be interested in exploring the possibilities of tying Iconics with WO system in the future when significant number of buildings is integrated- Additional/New canned/performance reports required? Virginia Tech Answer:Bidders are welcome to provide suggestions and pricing for these services.- Depending on version, and SupportWorX, will an upgrade be required? Virginia Tech Answer:Bidders are welcome to provide suggestions and pricing for these services.- Process in place for user base to suggest changes, and approving\denying them? Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, VT has ability to provide remote view-only access to Apogee graphics. The functionality of this system is limited to viewing graphics and point values only. Screenshots of Equipment Graphics on BAS software (If #1 isn’t feasible) Virginia Tech Answer:YesPoint Logs & Programming files (Code that controls the operation of equipment. Eg: ‘.dmp’ file for Andover or ‘.ppcl’ file for Siemens.). The point logs need to include fields like point descriptors, engineering units, point type (Input/Output/Numeric/LAI/LDO etc). All the critical HVAC points (for VFDs, major integration devices etc) need to be unbundled (for Siemens) or mapped (for Metasys) to the Main controller(s)/server so that the point logs will include these points. Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, VT will provide the point logs and PPCL codes where needed. VT will also provide a spreadsheet detailing the breakout of all involved assets/equipment and associated points Mechanical Schedules (To figure out CFM, kW, Tonnage etc) Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, but they have to be taken with a grain of salt since not always the latest as-built drawings are available. As-built controller drawings (PDFs preferred) Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, we will make them available, in most cases. Network riser diagram showing the architecture of the Building Management System. Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, we will make them available, in most cases. Architectural drawings (CADs preferred) Virginia Tech Answer:YesHVAC Equipment list with Equipment IDs, location, area(s) served for each equipment. Virginia Tech Answer:YesSequence of operation documentation (if available) for the Chilled & condenser water plants.Virginia Tech Answer:Yes, but some variation may exist between what’s on the control drawings compared to what’s programmed.
