Earn CEU/CPD Points

The PEP programs are approved for Continuing Education Units by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS), the New Zealand Institute of Medical Science (NZIMLS), the American Society for Medical Laboratory Scientists (ASMLS) and in the United Kingdom, The Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). To obtain these credits: AIMS - APACE 1 credit per hour of content PLUS 5 credits for each assessment CEU credits will only be available to those who are members of an

APACE-related association Learners are asked to register their association membership number when

printing a certificate for the first time. It will then automatically appear on all certificates. Click "Not Applicable" if you do not wish to have APACE credits on the certificate You can edit or delete your membership number at any time using the "Update profile" option

NZIMLS ? CPD Accepted for points under the NZIMLS CPD programme, Section 11 2 points for each programme successfully completed To claim points, simply send to the CPD committee the certificate showing

Troubleshooting & Helpful Hints

PROBLEM System Requirements: Upon logging into the system, it is recommended to perform the system test to ensure the computer meets these system requirements. The online courses are optimized to work on Microsoft Windows computers with Internet Explorer (I.E.) or Mozilla Firefox.

Using Apple computers (e.g. MAC) with the Safari web browser or use through Smart Phones are not supported.

RESOLUTION

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP or newer Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 but 8 or higher is recommended; Mozilla Firefox version 3.0 or higher Screen Resolution: 1024x768 is optimal and minimizes screen scrolling Audio/Video: Windows Media Player 9 or higher Cookies: Browser must be enabled to accept cookies Pop-Ups: Pop-up blocker utilities will need to be disabled or many elements within the training will be prevented from displaying JavaScript: Must be enabled Connection Speed: High Speed Internet Connection is recommended Flash: Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher is recommended PDF files: Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or newer

Apple iPad is not supported as Adobe Flash is required. Android tablets may work if they have Adobe Flash but these are untried by Siemens as yet. Pop-up blockers: Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox both have pop-up blockers embedded in their browsers. These need to be turned off if a module does not open or a learning object does not launch when a new window is supposed to open. (The system test, tests for enabled pop-up blockers)

Internet Explorer: Launch I.E. ? click on Tools ? Internet Options ? click on the Security tab ? click on the Trusted Sites icon ? click on the Sites button. In the field, "Add this Web site to the zone" , type in *. Uncheck the box "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone". Click the Add button In the field, "Add this Web site to the zone" , type in *. Click the Add button.

Mozilla Firefox Launch Firefox ? click on Tools ? Options ? click on Content ? click on the Exceptions button next to "Block pop-up windows" In the field "Address of web site" type in *. Click the Allow button In the field "Address of web site", type in *. Click the Allow button. Click the Close button to close the Allowed SitesPop-ups window. Click the OK button to close the Options window

Google Toolbar To allow pop-ups if the Google toolbar's pop-up blocker blocks a window from opening, press the CTRL key while clicking on the link that gets blocked. This will add the site to allow pop-up windows. Yahoo Toolbar To temporarily allow pop-up windows if the Yahoo toolbar's pop-up blocker blocks a window from opening, press the CTRL key wile clicking on the link that gets blocker. Note this is only good for the first click and will need to continually press the CTRL key while clicking the link.

Adobe Flash: All learning content is Adobe Flash based. If you are able to launch the content but unable to see any video's playing or onscreen content it is most likely due to a corrupt installation or no installation of Adobe Flash. Adobe Reader: The certificates that are obtained at the end of successfully completing an online education course are in PDF format and require Adobe Reader installed.

Once complete go to the online education page and log back in to view the course.
