AAI Automation Training Series Presents:
Introduction to SIEMENS Safety Advanced in the TIA Portal
Class Overview:
SIEMENS Safety Advanced is the seamless integration of safety into the TIA Portal. All configuration and programming tools required for generating a safety-oriented program are integrated into the TIA Portal user interface and use a common project structure. Safety Advanced provides a library with pre-prepared, T?V accepted blocks for safety-related functions.
Those who will benefit the most from this class include programmers who will be developing safety programming for a control system and those who will be supporting the application. It provides an introduction to machine safety control from within the Siemens Step 7 programmable logic controller (PLC). The course provides an overview and discussion of the necessary hardware architecture including modules, central processor units (CPUs), and more. Coursework also includes training on the use of S7 distributed safety programming and methods to determine the response time of the PLC within the safety system.
The Safety Integrated course is approximately 60% lecture and 40% hands-on including practical application development using Siemens' S7-300 Fail-Safe PLC system and Step 7 "TIA Portal" software. The course goal is to quickly bring the experienced PLC programmer up to speed with configuration and programming of integrated safety hardware. The training format is largely interactive and seeks to engage students and answer their application specific questions. Instructors will also be available to discuss applications during training breaks and at the close of each session.
Students will leave with a working knowledge Siemens Safety Advanced hardware and software and with the ability to create a safety system from scratch using the TIA Portal. Students will also leave with a printed copy of training slides and labs, and a certificate of completion. Students will also have the opportunity to meet their local AAI support personnel and will be provided with contact information for post-training technical support from AAI and Siemens.
This class is led by a Certified Siemens Technology Specialist for Factory Automation. AAI factory certified engineers have extensive experience in industry and have demonstrated knowledge of products and technologies through comprehensive hands-on and written testing. Each trainer has been certified to possess the proven ability to design and implement automation solutions while utilizing Siemens best practices.
