Just For Kix

Wiregrass Holiday Performance Guide

Thank you for your participation in our Holiday performance at Wiregrass Mall. I am so excited to see our dancers perform on stage this holiday season! Below you will see an outline of event details. Please read through them carefully to make sure that your child has the most successful experience possible.

Arrival Time:

Regardless of how many dances your child is in, please make sure that you arrive at the same time as ALL students participating in the event. This eliminates stress from everyone. There truly is no way to guess the time the show will flow, so if you arrive later, you risk the chance that your child will miss their time onstage. That can be very frustrating for you and devastating for your child. Just for Kix is a team based program and we want to represent that for the children. I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

ALL DANCERS arrive at 5:30 near Wiregrass Guest Services Office.

Showtimes

Your dancer will perform at ALL three time slots: 6:15, 715 & 8:15. Your child may take a short break in between performances, however, PLEASE pay attention to time. I will need dancers to line up 10 minutes prior to each performance. PLEASE be timely. The less stressful your child feels, the better they will perform. If they feel rushed, they will be overwhelmed and although they are young, they understand about being late and they will feel the stress. Performing at events is truly a BLAST!! Let’s make sure it is just that!

Before you take a break in between performances or head home for the evening, please have your dancer stay until the very end of each performance. We understand that your dancer may become tired, thirsty or hungry but we want to support each other and stay together as a team. We will also need to have each dancer present for our finale dance at the end of each performance. Each showtime performance will go very quickly. No more than 20 minutes long. You may bring bottled water for them to have in their dance bag. Please prepare them in advance for the long evening and make sure they have a meal before you arrive to the event. Please nothing heavy that will make them sick, especially if they are nervous.

Please have your dancer wear their Pink, Just For Kix, Winter Showcase Shirt over their costume. This will represent our program and team unity. This will also serve as a cover up for their costume, before they perform and in between performances. Please bring NON MESSY or GREASY snacks for them to eat , ONLY if you feel they will need a snack. PLEASE do not allow them to eat in their costume. You want it to be treated like gold, so it will be nice and shiny for the rest of the season.

9. Finale Dance: “Better When I’m Dancin”

ALL DANCERS are involved in this dance. Please have your dancer practice their dances by studying from videos you have recorded in class or from our Spring Hill, Just for Kix Youtube page. We are uploading new material weekly. The Finale dance is VERY IMPORTANT. Please encourage time for practice at least 5 minutes a day, in order to develop a strong commitment to their team and performance!

Performance Hair and Makeup

All dancers will wear their hair in a HIGH donut bun at the crown of the head. ACCEPT for “Deck the Halls” dancers, who will wear their hair in 2 high buns.

Please have hair piece on the right of the bun, on either side of the 2 buns or use several crossed bobby pins to keep a headband in place. Bobby pins and hairspray are a MUST, in order to keep hair fully secure while dancing on stage.

Makeup is a MUST. Please understand that we want your dancer to shine. Bright lights wash dancers out on stage.

Please use the following:

Brown eyeshadow

Light black eyeliner

Black Mascara

Red Lipstick (24 hour stay) anything else will get all over their face and their costume.

Blush to match lipstick. Please make your dancers makeup more visible than normal. On stage it will look normal.

Silver Glitter hairspray! Princess time! ;)

NOTE: We will have a group of parents volunteering to help backstage with your little ones. Please feel free to drop your dancers off with us while we prepare them for the event. Enjoy the show and all of the hard work your dancer has been putting into class.

In between performances and after the performance, please see Ms. Karin or one of our volunteer Moms before you walk away with your dancer. We will have a check in and check out list. This is to make sure your child is SAFE. PLEASE do not take them and walk away. We want to make sure your child is going away with YOU!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Much Love and appreciation for your participation in Just for Kix!
