Not sure where to start? FOLLOW THESE TIPS FOR A STRESS-FREE CELEBRATION:

Plan ahead.

Keep a list of how many guests you're expecting and be mindful of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Set the scene.

Add an elegant touch to your sit-down dinner with a floral arrangement or put some fun in your game day or birthday festivities with decorative balloons.

Serve a simple main dish.

Select sandwich trays or heat-and-eat entrees so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time with your guests. Avoid kitchen traffic jams with a buffet-style setup and keep foods that are in a sauce ? like meatballs or sausage ? in your slow cooker.

Start with the basics.

Kick off your party with assorted appetizers, including fresh vegetable and assorted cheese trays. Plan on 2 ounces of cheese and 4 ounces of veggies per guest. Serving other starters? Estimate 6 hors d'oeuvres per guest per hour.
