Teacher’s Notes - Spanish Songs

Tengo dos Ojos

This Unit is aimed at primary / beginner level Spanish learners. The content of the unit is based on the song Tengo Dos Ojos and provides an opportunity to practice vocabulary and verbs based on parts on the face through song and interactive activities.

Activity 1

Pupils should listen and practise singing the song, initially with the help of the Spanish children, moving on to singing along to the karaoke version.

Activity 2

An interactive labelling activity. Pupils can drag and drop the text in order to label the parts of the face.

Activity 3

Pupils must complete the sentences with the correct verbs by dragging and dropping the verbs from a choice on screen.

Activity 4

An interactive activity where pupils can create their own face choosing from the options on screen. The final face can be printed and labelled with the vocabulary they have learnt.

Los Elefantes

This Unit is aimed at primary / beginner level Spanish learners. The content of the unit is based on the song Los Elefantes and provides an opportunity to practice vocabulary for animals, simple numbers and adjectives through song and interactive activities.

Activity 1

Pupils should listen and practise singing the song, initially with the help of the Spanish children, moving on to singing along to the karaoke version.

Activity 2

Pupils must count the number of paws / feet / legs the animals have and type in the number in Spanish in order to complete each sentence.

Activity 3

Pupils must complete each sentence with a simple adjective from the choice on screen. The text can be dragged and dropped to complete the sentences.

Los Pajaritos

This Unit is aimed at primary / beginner level Spanish learners. The content of the unit is based on the song Los Pajaritos and provides an opportunity to practice vocabulary and verbs based on animals through song and interactive activities.

Activity 1 + 2

These activities introduce the pupils to some of the vocabulary for animals they will come across in the song in Activity 4. Pupils must find the matching pairs – audio and image.

Activity 3

Pupils must complete the sentences with a verb from a choice on lower screen. The text can be dragged and dropped in order to complete the sentences.

Activity 4

Pupils will have become familiar with vocabulary from the lyrics of the song and can now listen and practise singing the song, initially with the help of the Spanish children, moving on to singing along to the karaoke version.

Siete de julio … San Fermín

This Unit is aimed at primary / beginner level Spanish learners. The content of the unit is based on the song Siete de julio … San Fermín and provides an opportunity to practice vocabulary for months of the year and numbers 1-31 through song and interactive activities.

Activity 1

Pupils must drag and drop the Spanish months of the year into the correct order on the calendar.

Activity 2

Introduces and practises numbers 1-31 with a dot to dot interactive activity. The image reveals something to do with the San Fermín Festival!

Juan Pequeño Baila

This Unit is aimed at primary / beginner level Spanish learners. The content of the unit is based on the song Juan Pequeño Baila and provides an opportunity to practice vocabulary based on parts of the body through song and interactive activities.
