Check with classmates if you are absent from class to verify the questions.Parents: Please initial beside each set of exercises and sign below indicating homework completion.Parent/Guardian _______________________Test Date:_______________________Mr.O’s Math Pages to be Prepared:Be on time and focused.Bring your tools (pencils, erasers, binder, text, scientific calculator)Ask questions during class time. Sign up for extra help if you are too far behind. (Don’t fall behind.)Use your class time for MATH.How to do Homework:Try every homework question.Check your answers with the answers at the back of the text. Circle, in a bright colour, any question you need to ask in class and check it off once it has been corrected. Star any questions you should review before the next evaluation. It is your responsibility to complete any assignments given when you are absent.EVERY homework question must be completed and UNDERSTOOD.How to Study:Students should practice math every night, even if there is no specific homework assigned by the teacher. The only way to study math is to REDO the questions. Mix them up. Use the review sections, notes, quizzes and homework. Before the test or quiz, REDO the homework questions again. (They don’t expire.) If it has been weeks/days since you last tried them - you may not remember them even if you understood them before – DO THEM AGAIN!DOING the questions is the only way to learn math. Reading math does NOT help the student understand. How to Take Tests:Look Over the Whole Test First-jot down key formulas/equations and notes.Do Problems in the Order That Suits YOU-start with what you know and leave questions you are unsure of until the end.Pay attention to the mark value of each question; work quickly and continuously answering each question showing all your work in clear mathematical form. Check over the whole test making sure you have understood each question, watch for silly mistakes (negative signs etc.) Remember that the first answer you put down is usually right!PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE ................
