STRENGTHENING SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

1. The Ministry of Education is implementing various activities under the PRIEDE Project from a grant received from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) under the supervision of the World Bank to support development of primary school education sub-sector in Kenya. The Ministry intends to apply part of the grant proceeds to eligible payments of activities outlined in the Grant Agreement.

2. The Ministry of Education has disbursed the second tranche of KES 250,800,000 (Kenya Shillings Two Hundred & Fifty Million, Eight Hundred Thousand only) to a group of 1,254 Schools in 17 Counties.

3. The disbursed funds are to finance the implementation of identified priorities in the second phase of the overall School Improvement Plan (SIP).
