Delay policy applies. No extensions will be given, except for academically legitimate reasons. So, start working on the homework early!Instructions: Please read thoroughly and carefully!- This homework assignment consists of TWO parts: A and B. The number of points each question is worth is given next to the question. - Please type your answers in a .doc file (you may use this homework .doc file, if you want). If you do not use Microsoft Word, you may submit your homework in .pdf format. Any other file types are not accepted. Please make sure to name the file ‘assignment2_your_last_name’.- Submitting your homework in handwritten format is still acceptable, and will not affect your score in any way. However, if you decide to do that, please submit legible handwritten answers, making sure to skip lines, use a pen (not a pencil), and to leave wide enough margins for me to write comments in. Handwritten assignments that are illegible or do not follow the above instructions closely will be returned to you without being graded, will have to be resubmitted, and will be subject to the delay penalty upon resubmission. - Also, if you haven’t done that already, please take a moment to read my general guidelines for answering questions on homework assignments. They are posted HERE.- Finally, please make sure you write and sign below the Honor Code Pledge on the homework before turning it in. To see some examples of this, read this post by Arnold Zwicky, a professor of linguistics at Stanford: Can you think of one or two similar examples you have come across in advertisements before? Now, assume you have been hired by a marketing company after graduation given the top-notch linguistics background you have acquired at Middlebury . Invent at least two words that you would use to market two different products. Each word should involve ‘play’ on the morphological structure of English. Explain why you think each word would be effective to attract customers to the product. Feel free to watch some TV commercials on YouTube or to browse some other sites on the internet go give you some ideas, but the words you come up with have to be ‘novelicious.’(7 points)Part B.
