CLASS WORK AND QUIZZES

Class work grades are determined by activities completed within the classroom. This includes taking notes each class period. Quizzes are administered approximately once every one to two weeks and will be both announced and unannounced. Notes will be graded at the end of each unit. Students are required to keep all graded notes.

TESTS

Tests are administered approximately every two to four weeks and will be announced in advance. Many times, students will have a review in class the day or two before the test. This review will let the students know exactly what is on the test. Students are required to keep all corrected tests in their binder.

HOMEWORK

Students will have homework on a daily basis. My homework is designed for students to practice and review the concepts covered in class. It is also a way for students to discover problem areas within those concepts. Students are required to keep assignments and quizzes in their binder and to correct assignments in class. Assignments are listed daily in PowerSchool and assignments are accessible from my webpage, mrsowensmath..

LATE WORK POLICY

If a student fails to bring his or her homework on the assigned day they may turn it in late for 50% credit. He or she is responsible for turning the late homework in. Please check PowerSchool regularly to make sure your child is turning in his or her homework.

MAKE-UP POLICY

Each student is responsible for getting his/her make-up assignments. Absent work is due within one week upon returning to school. All assignments are recorded in PowerSchool. The student should see the teacher to schedule make-up times for tests and quizzes.

Sports or other school excused activities do not count as an absence. If you are going to be gone for such an activity or game, your work will need to be turned in before you go or it will be counted late upon your return. You will also need to get your work for the class you are missing and come prepared with the completed assignment on your return to class.
