DRESS CODE

Kindergarten through 5th – All clothing is to be the appropriate size

Monday through Thursday – Girls & Guys

• All polo shirts and ALL outerwear must be purchased from Lands’ End TCS only (see Website), or used from the TCS Uniform Room - a variety of colors will be available. Shirts are to be buttoned and tucked in at ALL times while on campus.

• TCS outerwear purchased from Land’s End or TCS sweatshirt, TCS fleece, TCS windbreaker, and TCS spirit jacket are the only outer garments that are to be worn in the building. Other coats may be worn to school and then hung up or put in lockers.

• Belts need to coordinate with the uniform look, they should blend and complement, not distract.

K-3, K-4, & K-5 are not required to wear a belt; 1st – 5th grades should wear a belt to complete the

Uniform look.

• Closed toe and closed heel shoes for all students such as tennis shoes, boots, flats, etc.

Girls – TCS polo shirts and outerwear must be purchased from Lands’ End TCS or the Uniform Room only. All other uniform style slacks, walking shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers may be purchased from Land’s End TCS or from other uniform department stores in choices of plain khaki, plain navy blue, or plain black. All clothing items must be uniform style and not be too tight or too baggy. For modesty sake, shorts (any type of shorts will be acceptable) need to be worn underneath jumpers and skirts for all girls. Shorts, skirts, skorts, and jumpers are to be no shorter than 2” above the knee. No slacks or shorts can be Cargo, Carpenter, hip-huggers or “skinny” jeans, Capri, or any other fad styles. No clothing should ever be form fitting or made of stretch material. A white collared shirt or TCS polo is to be worn under the jumpers. A TCS polo shirt is to be worn with ALL skirts, skorts, slacks, shorts and may be worn under jumpers. Acceptable jeans may be worn on Fridays only with the appropriate, designated t-shirt of the day only or regular dress code.

Guys – TCS polo shirts and outerwear must be purchased from Lands’ End TCS or Uniform Room only. All other uniform style slacks and walking shorts may be purchased from Land’s End TCS or from other uniform department stores in choices of plain khaki, plain navy blue, or plain black -- they are to be worn at, not below, the waist with a belt at ALL times. No blue jeans except on Fridays with the appropriate t-shirt for the day only. No slacks or shorts can be Cargo, Carpenter, too baggie, or any other fad styles.

Friday

• Designated t-shirt (i.e. Christian t-shirt, class t-shirt, Tiger t-shirt, Spirit t-shirt that are navy or gray/silver; colors that are conducive to the standards of TCS) and jeans (not form fitting or tight, no “skinny”, frayed, faded, torn, or oversized), or regular dress code. Outerwear, belt, and shoe regulations remain the same as the rest of the week. No blue jean shorts, Capri’s.

• PLEASE NOTE: ANY STUDENT NOT IN THE PROPER T-SHIRT OR JEANS WILL LOSE THEIR PRIVILEGE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY FURTHER T-SHIRT DAYS. THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR THE TCS FULL UNIFORM 5 DAYS A WEEK.

Field Trips

• Red TCS “field trip” polo shirt and blue jeans, unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Blue jeans are not to be form fitting or tight, frayed, faded, torn, or oversized.

PE Days

• Students in 3rd grade and up MUST purchase and dress out in PE Uniform. TCS sweatpants or TCS spirit pants are the only permitted long pants to be worn for cool days. PE shoes with black soles that mark the floor are not permitted on gym floor.

Other

• No slacks or shorts can be Cargo, Carpenter, Capri, or any other fad styles.

• No t-shirts permitted at any time except for the designated t-shirt on Fridays and for PE.

• No hats permitted except for on specific Fridays.

• Girls are not to wear form-fitting or tight clothing of any kind. Hair is to be a natural color; accessories should be conservative and no more than 2 earrings in the ear – no other facial piercings allowed - such as but not limited to: nose, tongue, eyebrow, etc. Please dress modestly and in good taste, remembering Who you represent.

• Guys’ hair is not to be over the collar, mid ear, or eyebrows; no gang type hair cuts, no shaven heads, natural hair colors only. No piercings of any kind are permitted for male students.

• We expect all students to comply willingly with the standards of TCS and our parents to support the school in upholding these standards. In the event there are different opinions or judgments concerning dress code, the opinion and judgment of the Administration is final.

Questions & Answers

• Can polo shirts be purchased at a retail store? No, you must purchase ALL polo shirts with the TCS logo from the TCS uniform store located on the Main Campus or from Lands’ End TCS.

• Can slacks be purchased at a retail store? Yes, for Pre-School through 5th grade, you may purchase all bottom attire from: TCS used uniform room, Land’s End TCS, or other retail stores; however, all slacks, shorts, skirts, etc. must be uniform style, and not too tight or too baggy. Carpenter style, Cargo style, Capri style, and any other fad styles are not allowed. Slacks should have the basic number of pockets; no extra side pockets are permitted.

• Do polo shirts have to be worn under the TCS sweatshirt? Yes, TCS polo must be worn underneath and tucked in at all times. The sweatshirt is to be worn for warmth, but if it is taken off, the student must be wearing a TCS polo shirt.

• What do I wear on Wednesday for Chapel? It is the same dress code for Monday through Thursday.

• Where can I go to purchase skirts, shorts, slacks, etc.? You may purchase these uniform items from the TCS uniform store located on the Main Campus, Lands’ End TCS, Kohl’s, JC Penny’s, Wal-Mart, Target, Old Navy all sell the uniform clothing but it must be uniforms, no other styles.

Girls - Uniform slacks, walking shorts, skirts, or jumpers MUST BE PURCHASED from Lands’ End TCS only. No clothing should ever be form fitting, and skirts, walking shorts, and jumpers are to be no shorter than 2” above the knee; no low rise; skinny, no fad-type styles. No jeans, jean skirts or jean jumpers except on Fridays. A belt is to be worn if slacks, walking shorts, or skirts have belt loops. A TCS/TCHS polo shirt is to be worn under ALL jumpers and with ALL skirts, slacks, walking shorts, etc.

• Closed toe shoes, tennis shoes, or flats (Toms, Sperry’s, etc.) No flip-flop shoes or sandals.

Guys - Uniform slacks or walking shorts MUST be purchased from Lands’ End TCS only. ALL slacks and walking shorts are to be worn at the waist, with a uniform belt through the belt loops at ALL times. Walking shorts are to be no longer than the top of the knee.

• Closed toe and closed heel shoe such as tennis shoes or boots. No flip-flop shoes or sandals.

Friday

• No t-shirts permitted at any time except on Friday and for PE or Athletics.

• Girls are never to wear form-fitting or tight clothing of any kind. Hair is to be a natural color; accessories, make-up and jewelry should be conservative and no more than 3 earring piercings in the ear – no other facial piercings allowed: such as but not limited to: nose, tongue, eyebrow, etc. Please dress modestly and in good taste, remembering Who you represent. “I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety.” I Timothy 2:9

• Guys’ hair is not to be over the collar, ears, or eyebrows; no gang type hair cuts, no shaven heads, natural hair colors only. No earrings are permitted for male students. Students must be clean-shaven with sideburns not being below the middle of the ear. Students who come to school and are not clean-shaven will have to return home and shave or will be given a razor to shave at school. The young man will take zeros in all classes he misses.

• We expect all students to comply willingly with the standards of TCS/TCHS and our parents to support the school in upholding these standards. In the event there are different opinions or judgments concerning dress code, the opinion and judgment of the administration is final.

• Can polo shirts or slacks be purchased at a retail store? No, you must purchase ALL the shirts with the TCS/TCHS emblem, as well as purchasing all slacks from Land's End.

• What do I wear on Friday? Appropriate jeans and the designated t-shirt for that Friday; check the monthly calendar for correct t-shirt. If you do not have jeans or the designated t-shirt you are to wear the regular, full school uniform . Capri Styles and any other fad styles are not allowed.

• Where can I go to purchase skirts, shorts, pants, etc.? You may only purchase cloths from the TCS uniform store located on the Main Campus or from Lands’ End TCS only.
