WHEREAS: Arbor Day is now observed not only throughout our nation but worldwide; and
WHEREAS: In Cambridge from April 29 to May 2, 2002 we can learn how to care for and adopt trees; and
WHEREAS: Trees can reduce erosion of our precious top soil, cut heating and cooling costs, moderate temperatures, clean the air, produce life-giving oxygen and provide habitat for wildlife; and
WHEREAS: Trees are a renewable resource, by which they give us paper, wood for our homes, fuel for our fires and beautify our communities; and
WHEREAS: Trees, wherever they are planted, are a source of joy and spiritual renewal; now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the City Council proclaim April 29 to May 7, 2002 Arbor Days in the City of Cambridge; and it be further

process, was helpful in resolving vendor disputes and was a member of the State
Procurement Team; and
WHEREAS: Paul’s favorite saying was “Let’s Hear from the People’s Republic;” and
WHEREAS: Paul passed away on January 29, 2002 and in his memory an award will be
presented to his family at the STAR Expo on April 23, 2002; now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That this City Council go on record commending Paul F. Trainor for all his
helpfulness to the People’s Republic and further expressing appreciation to his
family as Paul is remembered with the “Outstanding Procurement Team Member

WHEREAS: Scott attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School; and
WHEREAS: Scott was a member of the Union Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS: Scott most recently held the position of Principal Network Engineer with Fidelity
Investments; and
WHEREAS: Scott was a trained Aeronautical Engineer; he attended East Coast Aero-Tech School,
Long Beach Junior College, Northeastern University and Wentworth Technical Institute;
and
WHEREAS: Scott’s passing will leave a void in the lives of all his surviving friends and family, his
cherished daughters Brandy Frias and Jasmin, Arianna and Alanna Saunders; his parents
Lewis M. Saunders Jr. and Patricia (Dottin) Saunders and his step-father Renford Taylor; his
parents-in-law Yolanda and Frank Molina; his siblings Harold E. Dottin, Jason K., Karim-Ben

WHEREAS: On January 14, 2002, the Cambridge City Council adopted a resolution expressing its desire to establish a sister city relationship fostering the people-to-people relationship with a Cuban city; and
WHEREAS: The city of Cienfuegos is the capital of the province of Cienfuegos and is a city of about the same population as Cambridge; and
WHEREAS: A citizen's committee has been organized to develop this sister city relationship and two representatives have traveled to Cienfuegos to meet with officials there; and
WHEREAS: The local authorities in Cienfuegos have written to express an interest in developing a sister city relationship with Cambridge; now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Cambridge welcome the official establishment of our sister city bonds with Cienfuegos; and be it further
