Once the blisters rupture, they leave painful ulcers that may take as long as three weeks or as little as five days to heal. The blisters may be accompanied by fever, some burning on urination, swollen lymph nodes in the groin, and in women, a copious vaginal discharge. As with cold sores, the blisters come back from the same stress situations. ................
