Lupus – Many Items

These are actual testimonials from our files. They are not to be considered a claim of medical efficacy. You should always consult a physician before beginning any treatment program.

My daughter was diagnosed with Lupus last November and spent 10 days in the hospital.  While in the hospital, the physicians recommended steroids for the swelling that she was experiencing in her joints and also Calcium.  Usually one cannot control what goes on in the hospital, but in regards to the Calcium, I was able to nix because I asked her to find out what type of Calcium they were giving her and suggested that if it was Carbonate Calcium that she should refuse it.  I was in Georgia at that time and she was in George Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C.  I had a business partner that same day deliver Calcium to her and when the physician examined it they suggested that she not take the hospital "Carbonate" calcium but use Market America's ISOTONIX.

My daughter continued her medication of Steroids because once started you can't just quit cold turkey and she stayed on that for the next 5 months.  When she left the hospital she started immediately on OPC-3, B-12, Multi-Tech, Vitamin C, Antioxidant and Aloe Vera Juice.  Her aunt who is a Pediatrian lowered the steroid dosages but my daughter was not getting better fast enough and in the fourth month decided to up the dosages.  As of today, she is off the Steroids, her Lupus is in remission. I thank God for having the friend who introduced these products to me and his grace in saving my only daughter.

The shining moment in my life in our OPC-3 product, I'm sharing with you in hopes that many others recognize and experience its incredible benefits.

                In August of 1996 I was brought to my knees

physically and emotionally with the pain and degenerative disease of  LUPUS. Because it had invaded my heart and kidneys, the medical profession could offer only round-the-clock pain medication and steroids. Disabled, depressed, dreading the prospect of

dialysis...let alone the side effects of more steroids, I was actively searching for alternative ways to address my condition.

               A friend, a GOOD friend brought me a bottle of OPC-3.

Within 4 days my pain began to diminish and within 10 days I was pain free for the first time in 8 years. After one week I added B12 for energy and weight that I had gained from the steroids. Four months later I am still pain free and no longer using steroids or pain medication. My energy level has greatly increased, and the weight is slowly slipping away, and of even greater importance is the fact that the kidney damage is reversing itself. My health has truly been restored.

              I am now a distributor with MARKET AMERICA. My market

and yours is as wide as there are people who want to restore and preserve their health. Our message to them is the good news that there TRULY is a safe, natural, and effective answer to a vast majority of American health problems.

UPDATE:

             After 13 months on OPC-3 I continue without pain. I take no medication, no steroids, no dialysis. Full remission was achieved after 6-7 months. Now, B-12, Multi-Tech, Mineral Blast and Isochrome are part of my daily regime. My annual physical took place in August. My primary care physician requested an additional 2 EKGs. He could not believe that the LUPUS was NO LONGER in my heart. Although that physician had not whole heartedly endorsed my nutritional supplements, after the results of the EKG he told me to NEVER stop taking them.

             We truly have an effective alternative to a great many health problems without the complications that prescription drugs often create.

My name is Maria Connell and I want to share my story with others who are currently suffering with Lupus SLE. Lupus SLE has been a disease that nearly took me away from living a normal life with my loved ones. I believe that sharing my story will help others and give them hope that living with this disease can be possible and it does not have to control and envelope their life.

I know that doctors can sometimes help but continual subjection to so many prescriptions through a trial and error process to find the one that might work can be very oppressive and aggravating. In retrospect, I think this approach is not a beneficial, nor productive way of living, if trying these medications to help one condition creates numerous side effects. The side effects often times can give a person a sense of hopelessness and ultimate defeat trying to win this battle.

I have been living with Lupus SLE since 1996 and some of my doctors think that I may have had it earlier but so little was known about Lupus in the early 90’s. Since being diagnosed I have suffered everyday with pain. I had symptoms that were similar to Multiple Sclerosis and it took about six weeks to have a complete and definitive diagnosis. I know that some of the main symptoms that I experienced were being tired all the time with constant joint soreness. I often thought this disease was winning the battle and I was losing the privileges of being a wife, mother, daughter and friend. I have taken so many medications that I can only recall a few of them, prednisone, plaquenill, methotrexate and cellcept. I remember these because I know how they made me feel and the terrible side effects I was afflicted with while taking these prescriptions. I had weight gain, tearing of stomach lining, lack of sleep, and acne just to name a few.

I kept living with this disease and managed to continue working while finishing two years of college. I met my husband in 1998 and I had to share my story with him but also revealing to him the possibility that I might not be able to give him children. I tried Chiropractors, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Naturopathy, etc, all with a modicum of success. We have learned that doctors do not know everything and through God all things are possible if we just believe. Our eldest daughter was born healthy with the lupus antibody and I was taking plaquenill during my first pregnancy. Our second child was born with neonatal lupus and had kidney problems for about a year and with her I decided not to take any medication and now she is healthy with no further complications. During my third pregnancy I was considered high risk of having a baby with neonatal lupus with medical problems of heart block, liver and kidney problems. We decided to put a prayer request in the bulletin at our church. A few days later, in the summer of 2004; Rich and Valerie Silveira contacted us about our prayer request. So we met at a local coffee shop and they told us that they believed they could help me with this debilitating condition with a Nutraceutical product line that had succeeded in helping others with similar conditions. Initially my husband was skeptical explaining to them that I had tried multiple vitamins and supplements with little success. I listened carefully to them explain why these supplements were different and how absorption was so critical in a first step to my recovery. Candidly, what did I have to lose; I had tried just about everything to no avail. We agreed to try the Isotonix (OPC-3, B-12, Multi-Tech) products, the Ultimate Aloe, Complete Greens and Nutri Clean to name a few. At this time I was four months pregnant and having problems with my lupus and vomiting all day. I had tried taking cellcept before getting pregnant two years earlier but I stopped all medication on my own. These Market America Nutraceuticals have been a Godsend. I have more energy, far less sleepless nights, retain less water, have minimal indigestion, can expose myself to sunlight without sunglasses and importantly can now interact more often with my children’s’ physical activities.

I had all my blood work done after delivering my son seven months ago and everything looked great. In fact, the Doctors have asked me specifically what I am doing differently to have such a positive impact on my condition? My son was born with the Lupus antibody but no other medical complications. I am able to live my life with my family with energy and without medications. The Isotonic nutrition and other nutraceuticals in the Health and Nutrition division of Market America was an answer to prayer and we know that God put these wonderful people in our lives to help us and to them we are grateful and know God will bless them.

A friend of mine, who is a MA distributor in the Detroit area, has a niece who has Lupus.  She started her on OPC3 and B12....she said her niece is doing fantastic now..she is even playing softball.  They have to watch her now because she is "burning the candle at both ends", so to speak.  She said she has so much energy now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the last little while there has been requests for information about lupus. I think it is important to explain that lupus is a complex disease that affects every single person differently. It is called the Disease of 1000 Faces for a Reason! It affects every individual
differently. There are also different types of lupus. The most common being systemic (can affect any organ in the body) or discoid (skin affliction). There are others.
I personally suffer from systemic lupus so this is a subject near and dear to my heart! I am fortunate in that I do not have extensive organ problems but I know many women who do. The most presenting problems for lupus patients is fatigue and arthritis. There is
a universal acceptance that we need to avoid the sun.
I can only talk about myself personally. I have found OPC-3 to be so helpful to me. When I first started taking it I hoped for miracle cures like I had read in some testimonials. I didn't notice any monumental changes in my first 6 months. There were times I wondered why I continued with the product because of the cost.
I came to appreciate the product when I ran out! After 3 days I was sick. The first time I thought it was a co-incidence but after the second time I started to wonder! And then I started to realize that I relied less and less on my anti-inflammatory medication (for arthritis) since I started taking OPC-3. I could discuss further benefits from OPC-3 like less noticeable bruising, mouth cold sores etc.
I am a firm believer in OPC-3 in terms of strengthening my immune system. I have family members and customers who know my story and understand the difference in me because of my usage of the product. They too are customers.
I am not implying that OPC-3 is a cure. But I can tell my fellow team members that it has helped me tremendously in terms of reducing the severity of the symptoms that compromised my day to day life. I am very much better off because of my usage of the product.
I hope this note is helpful.
We'd like to share our testimonial on Lupus.
I overheard a young girl I worked with requesting time off because she had to take her father to Greenville for tests the next day. We were new UFO owners at the time and I reluctantly asked her what was wrong with her father. She said he had Lupus and would be unable to drive himself. She further told me that his Lupus was at a point that he stayed in bed a lot - he's a self-employed log truck driver and if he wakes up in the morning and feels good enough, he'll go in to work. Most mornings he stayed in bed,
though. He was spending $600 to $800 a month on medication that was doing nothing for him except emptying his checkbook. I told her that I had some information I wanted to share with her and gave her the Quest for Health video and the old OPC pamphlet to take home for the weekend. On Monday morning she came and said they hadn't had time to watch the video but could I get her some of the "stuff" and she would have her dad try it. I refused to give her any product until I knew they had watched the video and looked over the information. That night they watched the video and at lunch the next day I got her a bottle of OPC and gave her specific directions "first thing in the morning on an empty stomach."
Her father took his first loading dose at 10 pm that night and his second dose the next morning. Four days later he called to say that he was starting to feel some results. He still had pain but the swelling was starting to go down. Three weeks later (yep, he took it like we told him to) his daughter said to bring in another bottle. A month after that,
another bottle.
After four months we were finally able to meet him face-to-face. He was back to work six days a week. Out in the garage working on his daughters car. He noticed that he doesn't get poison ivy from hauling logs like he used to.
Now, the great news. Prior to Lupus taking hold of him, he used to drive a drag car. A year after starting OPC-3, we went to his home to drop off a family size bottle of OPC and he said "Come out to my garage, I want to show you something." Out in his garage was his newly built Camaro. The following week he was driving his race car (and he came in 4th!) All he takes is a maintenance dose of OPC and two aspirin's a day.
His daughter is planning her wedding for next summer and she thanks me on a
regular basis for "giving me back my daddy." She was afraid he wouldn't be
able to walk her down the aisle.
I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia.  I take OPC-3, B12, Glucosatrin, Multitech and Minerals.
I was unable to get out of bed.  To do anything at all, I had to roll out of the bed and crawl on my hands and knees.  A friend of ours was a Market America Distributor and asked my husband if I would try the OPC-3 and Vitamin C and I did.  Then I added the other things to it.  Anyway to make a long story short it took about 21/2 months and I was up and able to do things again.   It was a slow process but now my Lupus is in remission and has been for the last 4 years.  I'm pretty much pain free with the
Fibromyalgia which at first was very debilitating.  No one could even touch me without me being in agony.  I am a walking testimonial  for our products and I hope this helps. I started the products five years ago and will be taking them forever. :)
Hello Team,
I received permission to forward this to the group. Nadine also informed me
that she has lost 110 pounds in the last 11 months. She is a walking
miracle!!
Ron
I have been chronically ill my whole life.  It started when I contracted typhoid as a young child.  From that point my body never worked right.  Chronic infections, massive doses of antibiotics for 5-6 years, debilitating allergies requiring weekly injections that I gave myself until the age of 19.  At the age of 21 I was diagnosed with systemic lupus.  I
didn't respond well to prednisone so I decided that since I had a milder form of lupus I would learn how to manage and control it if possible.  I also learned during this time from specialists at the Infectious Disease Department in Marshfield, WI that I was also showing evidence of toxin dumping by major body organs.  The doctors felt that since I had such a severe case of typhoid as a child that the typhoid had settled in major
body organs and was leaching out into my body.  However, since removing most of your body organs is not an option this was a condition I had to live with.
Over the years I have dealt with lupus and other health challenges by learning as much as possible and knowing what triggers to avoid.  I have felt fortunate because I have been able to avoid most prescription drugs for any lengthy period of time.  Bad days for me have been joint pain and swelling, chronic fatigue and some days where I couldn't get out of bed.
However, 3 1/2 years ago I was struck with a neurological disorder called spasmodic dystonia.  This is a disorder that is caused by a defect in the brain.  They don't know why it happens and there is a lot of research going on about this disease.  They believe the defect is in the part of the brain that is defective in parkinson's disease but it is a different type of defect.  The brain sends the wrong signals to muscles and causes them to
spasm and tighten up so that you can't control them.  It can affect different parts of the body but usually stays within the affected area, i.e. the neck, jaws, eyes, etc.  Dystonia can range from mild to disabling. It can twist and contort the body so that one cannot stand or walk properly or hold their head up.  The muscles tighten and spasm so hard that you cannot straighten out the part of the body that is affected.  I can't describe the immense amount of pain that comes with this disorder.  Imagine the pain you feel when you have a muscle cramp in the night.  Now imagine that the muscle cramp never goes away and spasms and twists your body.
Dystonia started in my neck, shoulder and right arm all at the same time.  I went to a specialist and was misdiagnosed for a year during which I had treatments that made the disorder worse.  I was scheduled to consult for neck surgery when my chiropractor stepped in and asked me to see a neurologist in Marshfield because he had never seen anything like what I was dealing with and didn't think neck surgery was indicated.  Thank
goodness for Dr. Doug Arvold, the chiropractor who knew that the specialist I was seeing had not truly identified what was really wrong with me.
By this time I was almost disabled because now both shoulders were affected and the spasms had started on both sides of my upper back and on my right side the spasms were running down my entire back into the hip area.  I was twisting backwards on the right side so severely that if I laid on my stomach the right side of my body stayed up and twisted backwards.  I couldn't lay down flat.  When I went to see a massage therapist she was afraid to touch me.
I was properly diagnosed in Marshfield by neurologists.  There is no cure for spasmodic dystonia but to deal with the pain and to help stop the twisting of the torso and neck I was immediately started on massive injections of Botox.  If you know anything about Botox, this is a poison they inject to force the muscles to relax temporarily.  Do you think I wanted more poison in my system?  I felt I had no choice.  I have permanent spine and nerve damage.  I went every 3-months and received injections and it gave me a measure of relief but my existence was still so difficult that I had to give up my salaried position and went to working 4-days a week.  I lost half my salary and all my benefits but we were hoping it was worth it so that I could do something else besides coming home from work and going to bed on heat and ice packs.
Going from a 5-day work week to a 4-day work week didn't make much of a difference.  It gave me an extra day to rest and I needed it while dealing with dystonia and lupus.  I still could not do housework and I rarely cooked a meal for my family.  One of my daughters begged me to talk to a woman who had products that had helped other chronically ill people.  After being ill my whole life and spending so much money on many different products that never did what they claimed to do, I wasn't willing to spend
another dime.  My daughter was persistent and I finally met with Kate Whiting and as soon as I heard about the isotonic line of products I started on a regiment that day.
I started on OPC-3, 3 caps a day.  I also started on the B-formula, Isochrome, Calcium and Multitech.  I started feeling something after 4-5 weeks on the products.  Then we added Mineral Blast.  Mineral Blast had a real effect on my system within 24-hours.  After 2 months on these products the spasms had started slowing down.  I couldn't believe it!!!  It was getting close to being time to go back to Marshfield for more Botox
injections.  I was praying that the improvements would continue and I cancelled my appointment.  I was still suffering from fatigue between the lupus and dystonia.  We gradually started increasing the OPC-3 to 7-caps a day.  I had found the perfect regiment for me:  OPC-3, B-formula, Isochrome, Calcium, Multitech, and Mineral Blast.
The improvements from that point border on miraculous.  I have not returned for any Botox injections and hope that I won't have to.  My dose of OPC-3 is 7-caps a day.  When I have rough days it is 10-caps.  I have been on the products for 9-months and it isn't just the dystonia and lupus that have improved.  I feel better than I have ever felt in my entire life.  I have carpel tunnel and tendonitis, now hardly noticed.  I can now handle going into someone's home if they have animals.  Chronic sinusitis since childhood finally started breaking up after 6-months on the products, a condition that I was told by numerous doctors would only be fixed by surgery.  My hair is healthier than it has ever been.  I've been told that my skin and eyes look better than 10 years ago.  Chronic yeast infections have been cut by 75%.  Nail fungus that had been resistent to medication is
now gone.  My night vision has improved.  In our house, I'm the one who gets the cold last instead of first and I recover before my husband does.  Unheard of in my whole life.  And my energy level?  Count yourself fortunate if your not among my family and friends.  I'm 41 and my life has finally started.  I know I'll be doing more at the age of 65 than I was doing at the age of 20.
Do our products change people's live????  I believe these products saved mine.
Susan, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which is in the same
auto immune disorder family as Lupus.  I took the medications prescribed
to me (prednisone and plaquenil) for over the year that it took me to
find the real cause and get totally symptom free and off all these
terribly damaging medicines.  I HIGHLY recommend the book "Rheumatoid
Arthritis" The Infection Connection to her and ANYONE with an autoimmune
disorder. Encourage her to go as organic, raw, whole foods as she can
until her symptoms disappear then to slowly add back in meat products to
no more than 15% of diet IF she is a meat eater.  To make this
transition easier, I suggest 8-16 oz. of organic carrot juice a day
mixed with 1-2 scoops of our Complete Greens and an Organic Fruit
Smoothie using honey, xylitol or agave as a sweetener each day also.  In
these two items alone, one is getting a lot of organic, raw.    If/when
she eats cooked foods, she should consider taking digestive enzymes as
all the life is cooked out of the food at 110-115 degrees.  Amber
Tracy--
I have taken Celebrex until I discovered OPC-3 and Glucosatrin.  I took all three for awhile.  (I was struck by a car while crossing the street.)  I quit the celebrex in favor of the other two.  They worked wonders for me and I never experienced any concerns.  Hope that offers some help!
Tracy,
I am sure the doctor is correct.  I have had Lupus since 1985.  I take OPC-3
when I am on steroids with no adverse outcome.  As a matter of fact my doctor
supports me taking my supplements.
I couldn't function without the OPC-3. I've been taking OPC-3 for four years
My daughter was diagnosed with Lupus last November and spent 10 days in the hospital. While in the hospital, the physicians recommended steroids for the swelling that she was experiencing in her joints and also Calcium. Usually one cannot control what goes on in the hospital, but in regards to the Calcium, I was able to nix because I asked her to find out what type of Calcium they were giving her and suggested that if it was Carbonate Calcium that she should refuse it. I was in Georgia at that time and she was in George Washington Hospital, Washington, D.C. I had a business partner that same day deliver Calcium to her and when the physician examined it they suggested that she not take the hospital "Carbonate" calcium but use Market America's ISOTONIX.
As you have probably experience, family are the last people to listen to you. She continued her medication of Steroids because once started you can't just quit cold turkey and she stayed on that for the next 5 months. I however suggested that when she left the hospital that she start immediately on OPC-3, B-12, Multi-Tech, Vitamin C, Antioxidant and Aloe Vera Juice, which she purchased and was taking. On her check-ups, they were concerned about the high protein count in her urine and her Aunt who is a Pediatrian thought the nutrients might be contributing to that. You can probably guess my reaction to that. She lowered the dosages but was not getting better fast enough and in the fourth month decided to up the dosages. As of today, she is off the Steroids, her Lupus is in remission. I thank God for having the friend who introduced these products to me and his grace in saving my only daughter.
LUPUS
My name is Maria Connell and I want to share my story with others who are currently suffering with Lupus SLE. Lupus SLE has been a disease that nearly took me away from living a normal life with my loved ones. I believe that sharing my story will help others and give them hope that living with this disease can be possible and it does not have to control and envelope their life.
I know that doctors can sometimes help but continual subjection to so many prescriptions through a trial and error process to find the one that might work can be very oppressive and aggravating. In retrospect, I think this approach is not a beneficial, nor productive way of living, if trying these medications to help one condition creates numerous side effects. The side effects often times can give a person a sense of hopelessness and ultimate defeat trying to win this battle.
I have been living with Lupus SLE since 1996 and some of my doctors think that I may have had it earlier but so little was known about Lupus in the early 90’s. Since being diagnosed I have suffered everyday with pain. I had symptoms that were similar to Multiple Sclerosis and it took about six weeks to have a complete and definitive diagnosis. I know that some of the main symptoms that I experienced were being tired all the time with constant joint soreness. I often thought this disease was winning the battle and I was losing the privileges of being a wife, mother, daughter and friend. I have taken so many medications that I can only recall a few of them, prednisone, plaquenill, methotrexate and cellcept. I remember these because I know how they made me feel and the terrible side effects I was afflicted with while taking these prescriptions. I had weight gain, tearing of stomach lining, lack of sleep, and acne just to name a few.
I kept living with this disease and managed to continue working while finishing two years of college. I met my husband in 1998 and I had to share my story with him but also revealing to him the possibility that I might not be able to give him children. I tried Chiropractors, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Naturopathy, etc, all with a modicum of success. We have learned that doctors do not know everything and through God all things are possible if we just believe. Our eldest daughter was born healthy with the lupus antibody and I was taking plaquenill during my first pregnancy. Our second child was born with neonatal lupus and had kidney problems for about a year and with her I decided not to take any medication and now she is healthy with no further complications. During my third pregnancy I was considered high risk of having a baby with neonatal lupus with medical problems of heart block, liver and kidney problems. We decided to put a prayer request in the bulletin at our church. A few days later, in the summer of 2004; Rich and Valerie Silveira contacted us about our prayer request. So we met at a local coffee shop and they told us that they believed they could help me with this debilitating condition with a Nutraceutical product line that had succeeded in helping others with similar conditions. Initially my husband was skeptical explaining to them that I had tried multiple vitamins and supplements with little success. I listened carefully to them explain why these supplements were different and how absorption was so critical in a first step to my recovery. Candidly, what did I have to lose; I had tried just about everything to no avail. We agreed to try the Isotonix (OPC-3, B-12, Multi-Tech) products, the Ultimate Aloe, Complete Greens and Nutri Clean to name a few. At this time I was four months pregnant and having problems with my lupus and vomiting all day. I had tried taking cellcept before getting pregnant two years earlier but I stopped all medication on my own. These Market America Nutraceuticals have been a Godsend. I have more energy, far less sleepless nights, retain less water, have minimal indigestion, can expose myself to sunlight without sunglasses and importantly can now interact more often with my children’s’ physical activities.
I had all my blood work done after delivering my son seven months ago and everything looked great. In fact, the Doctors have asked me specifically what I am doing differently to have such a positive impact on my condition? My son was born with the Lupus antibody but no other medical complications. I am able to live my life with my family with energy and without medications. The Isotonic nutrition and other nutraceuticals in the Health and Nutrition division of Market America was an answer to prayer and we know that God put these wonderful people in our lives to help us and to them we are grateful and know God will bless them.
Lupus' testimonial
Date: 5/27/2003 8:29:50 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: Patricia.Gustafson@
I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia.  I take OPC-3, TC Select, Glucosatrin,
Multitech and Minerals.
I was unable to get out of bed.  To do anything at all, I had to roll out of
the bed and crawl on my hands and knees.  A friend of ours was a Market
America Distributor and asked my husband if I would try the OPC-3 and
Vitamin C and I did.  Then I added the other things to it.  Anyway to make a
long story short it took about 21/2 months and I was up and able to do
things again.   It was a slow process but now my Lupus is in remission and
has been for the last 4 years.  I'm pretty much pain free with the
Fibromyalgia which at first was very debilitating.  No one could even touch
me without me being in agony.  I am a walking testimonial  for our products
and I hope this helps. I started the products five years ago and will be
taking them forever. :)
Sincerely,
Patricia Gustafson
Tracy--
I have taken Celebrex until I discovered OPC-3 and Glucosatrin.  I took all three for awhile.  (I was struck by a car while crossing the street.)  I quit the celebrex in favor of the other two.  They worked wonders for me and I never experienced any concerns.  Hope that offers some help!
Tracy,
I am sure the doctor is correct.  I have had Lupus since 1985.  I take OPC-3
when I am on steroids with no adverse outcome.  As a matter of fact my doctor
supports me taking my supplements.
I couldn't function without the OPC-3. I've been taking OPC-3 for four years
now.  The Market America supplements saved and gave me back my life.  I'll be
happy to communicate with your customer.
>Testimonial: Lupus & Spasmodic Dystonia
>
>
>I have been chronically ill my whole life.  It started when I contracted
>typhoid as a young child.  >From that point my body never worked right.
>Chronic infections, massive doses of antibiotics for 5-6 years,
>debilitating allergies requiring weekly injections that I gave myself until
>the age of 19.  At the age of 21 I was diagnosed with systemic lupus.  I
>didn't respond well to prednisone so I decided that since I had a milder
>form of lupus I would learn how to manage and control it if possible.  I
>also learned during this time from specialists at the Infectious Disease
>Department in Marshfield, WI that I was also showing evidence of toxin
>dumping by major body organs.  The doctors felt that since I had such a
>severe case of typhoid as a child that the typhoid had settled in major
>body organs and was leaching out into my body.  However, since removing
>most of your body organs is not an option this was a condition I had to
>live with.
>
>Over the years I have dealt with lupus and other health challenges by
>learning as much as possible and knowing what triggers to avoid.  I have
>felt fortunate because I have been able to avoid most prescription drugs
>for any lengthy period of time.  Bad days for me have been joint pain and
>swelling, chronic fatigue and some days where I couldn't get out of bed.
>
>However, 3 1/2 years ago I was struck with a neurological disorder called
>spasmodic dystonia.  This is a disorder that is caused by a defect in the
>brain.  They don't know why it happens and there is a lot of research going
>on about this disease.  They believe the defect is in the part of the brain
>that is defective in parkinson's disease but it is a different type of
>defect.  The brain sends the wrong signals to muscles and causes them to
>spasm and tighten up so that you can't control them.  It can affect
>different parts of the body but usually stays within the affected area,
>i.e. the neck, jaws, eyes, etc.  Dystonia can range from mild to disabling.
>  It can twist and contort the body so that one cannot stand or walk
>properly or hold their head up.  The muscles tighten and spasm so hard that
>you cannot straighten out the part of the body that is affected.  I can't
>describe the immense amount of pain that comes with this disorder.  Imagine
>the pain you feel when you have a muscle cramp in the night.  Now imagine
>that the muscle cramp never goes away and spasms and twists your body.
>
>Dystonia started in my neck, shoulder and right arm all at the same time.
>I went to a specialist and was misdiagnosed for a year during which I had
>treatments that made the disorder worse.  I was scheduled to consult for
>neck surgery when my chiropractor stepped in and asked me to see a
>neurologist in Marshfield because he had never seen anything like what I
>was dealing with and didn't think neck surgery was indicated.  Thank
>goodness for Dr. Doug Arvold, the chiropractor who knew that the specialist
>I was seeing had not truly identified what was really wrong with me.
>
>By this time I was almost disabled because now both shoulders were affected
>and the spasms had started on both sides of my upper back and on my right
>side the spasms were running down my entire back into the hip area.  I was
>twisting backwards on the right side so severely that if I laid on my
>stomach the right side of my body stayed up and twisted backwards.  I
>couldn't lay down flat.  When I went to see a massage therapist she was
>afraid to touch me.
>
>I was properly diagnosed in Marshfield by neurologists.  There is no cure
>twisting of the torso and neck I was immediately started on massive
>injections of Botox.  If you know anything about Botox, this is a poison
>they inject to force the muscles to relax temporarily.  Do you think I
>wanted more poison in my system?  I felt I had no choice.  I have permanent
>spine and nerve damage.  I went every 3-months and received injections and
>it gave me a measure of relief but my existence was still so difficult that
>I had to give up my salaried position and went to working 4-days a week.  I
>lost half my salary and all my benefits but we were hoping it was worth it
>so that I could do something else besides coming home from work and going
>to bed on heat and ice packs.
>
>Going from a 5-day work week to a 4-day work week didn't make much of a
>difference.  It gave me an extra day to rest and I needed it while dealing
>with dystonia and lupus.  I still could not do housework and I rarely
>cooked a meal for my family.  One of my daughters begged me to talk to a
 The shining moment in my life in our OPC-3 product, I'm sharing
with you in hopes that many others recognize and experience its
incredible benefits.
                In August of 1996 I was brought to my knees
physically and emotionally with the pain and degenerative disease of
LUPUS. Because it had invaded my heart and kidneys, the medical
profession could offer only round-the-clock pain medication and
steroids. Disabled, depressed, dreading the prospect of
dialysis...let alone the side e! ffects of more steroids, I was
actively searching for alternative ways to address my condition.
               A friend, a GOOD friend brought me a bottle of OPC-3.
Within 4 days my pain began to diminish and within 10 days I was pain
free for the first time in 8 years. After one week I added
Thermochrome for energy and weight that I had gained from the
steroids. Four months later I am still pain free and no longer using
steroids or pain medication. My energy level has greatly increased,
and the weight is slowly slipping away, and of even greater
importance is the fact that the kidney damage is reversing itself. My
health has truly been restored.
              I am now a distributor with MARKET AMERICA. My market
and yours is as wide as there are people who want to restore and
preserve their health. Our message to them is the good news tha! t
there TRULY is a safe, natural, and effective answer to a vast
majority of American health problems.
UPDATE: 1997
             After 13 months on OPC-3 I continue without pain. I take
no medication, no steroids, no dialysis. Full remission was achieved
after 6-7 months. Now, B-12, Multi-Tech, Mineral Blast and Isochrome
are part of my daily regime. My annual physical took place in August
1997. My primary care physician requested an additional 2 EKGs. He
could not believe that the LUPUS was NO LONGER in my heart. Although
that physician had not whole heartedly endorsed my nutritional
supplements, after the results of the EKG he told me to NEVER stop
taking them.
             We truly have an effective alternative to a great many
health problems without the complications that prescription drugs
often create.
In the last little while there has been requests for information about
lupus. I think it is important to explain that lupus is a complex
disease that affects every single person differently. It is called the
Disease of 1000 Faces for a Reason! It affects every individual
differently. There are also different types of lupus. The most common
being systemic (can affect any organ in the body) or discoid (skin
affliction). There are others.
I personally suffer from systemic lupus so this is a subject near and
dear to my heart! I am fortunate in that I do not have extensive organ
problems but I know many women who do. The most presenting problems for
lupus patients is fatigue and arthritis. There is
a universal acceptance that we need to avoid the sun.
I can only talk about myself personally. I have found OPC-3 to be so
helpful to me. When I first started taking it I hoped for miracle
cures like I had read in some testimonials. I didn't notice any
monumental changes in my first 6 months. There were times I wondered why
I continued with the product because of the cost.
I came to appreciate the product when I ran out! After 3 days I was
sick. The first time I thought it was a co-incidence but after the
second time I started to wonder! And then I started to realize that I
relied less and less on my anti-inflammatory medication (for arthritis)
since I started taking OPC-3. I could discuss further benefits from
OPC-3 like less noticable bruising, mouth cold sores etc.
I am a firm believer in OPC-3 in terms of strengthening my immune
system. I have family members and customers who know my story and
understand the difference in me because of my usage of the product.
They too are customers.
I am not implying that OPC-3 is a cure. But I can tell my fellow team
members that it has helped me tremendously in terms of reducing the
severity of the symptoms that compromised my day to day life. I am very
much better off because of my usage of the product.
For individuals interested in learning more about lupus please e-mail
me. I can refer you to appropriate sources. I have had a few e-mail
exchanges with Dr. Wilmer that have been helpful and I would be more
than willing to share the exchange.
I hope this note is helpful.
We'd like to share our testimonial on Lupus.
I overheard a young girl I worked with requesting time off because she had
to take her father to Greenville for tests the next day. We were new UFO
owners at the time and I reluctantly asked her what was wrong with her
father. She said he had Lupus and would be unable to drive himself. She
further told me that his Lupus was at a point that he stayed in bed a lot -
he's a self-employed log truck driver and if he wakes up in the morning and
feels good enough, he'll go in to work. Most mornings he stayed in bed,
though. He was spending $600 to $800 a month on medication that was doing
nothing for him except emptying his checkbook. I told her that I had some
information I wanted to share with her and gave her the Quest for Health
video and the old OPC pamphlet to take home for the weekend. On Monday
morning she came and said they hadn't had time to watch the video but could
I get her some of the "stuff" and she would have her dad try it. I refused
to give her any product until I knew they had watched the video and looked
over the information. That night they watched the video and at lunch the
next day I got her a bottle of OPC and gave her specific directions "first
thing in the morning on an empty stomach."
Her father took his first loading dose at 10 pm that night and his second
dose the next morning. Four days later he called to say that he was
starting to feel some results. He still had pain but the swelling was
starting to go down. Three weeks later (yep, he took it like we told him
to) his daughter said to bring in another bottle. A month after that,
another bottle.
After four months we were finally able to meet him face-to-face. He was
back to work six days a week. Out in the garage working on his daughters
car. He noticed that he doesn't get poison ivy from hauling logs like he
used to.
Now, the great news. Prior to Lupus taking hold of him, he used to drive a
drag car. He got on OPC in August of 1998. In July of 1999 we went out to
his home to drop off a family size bottle of OPC and he said "Come out to my
garage, I want to show you something." Out in his garage was his newly
built Camaro. The following week he was driving his race car (and he came
in 4th!) All he takes is a maintenance dose of OPC and two aspirin's a day.
His daughter is planning her wedding for next summer and she thanks me on a
regular basis for "giving me back my daddy." She was afraid he wouldn't be
able to walk her down the aisle.
We only wish we could slow him down enough to get him to a second look!
A friend of mine, who is a MA distributor in the Detroit area, has a niece who has Lupus.  She strated her on OPC3 and B12....she said her neice is doing fantastic now..she is even playing softball.  They have to watch her now because she is "burning the candle at both ends", so to speak.  She said she has so much energy now.
Susan, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which is in the same
auto immune disorder family as Lupus.  I took the medications prescribed
to me (prednisone and plaquenil) for over the year that it took me to
find the real cause and get totally symptom free and off all these
terribly damaging medicines.  I HIGHLY recommend the book "Rheumatoid
Arthritis" The Infection Connection to her and ANYONE with an autoimmune
disorder. Encourage her to go as organic, raw, whole foods as she can
until her symptoms disappear then to slowly add back in meat products to
no more than 15% of diet IF she is a meat eater.  To make this
transition easier, I suggest 8-16 oz. of organic carrot juice a day
mixed with 1-2 scoops of our Complete Greens and an Organic Fruit
Smoothie using honey, xylitol or agave as a sweetener each day also.  In
these two items alone, one is getting a lot of organic, raw.    If/when
she eats cooked foods, she should consider taking digestive enzymes as
all the life is cooked out of the food at 110-115 degrees.  Amber
