Principal Message

Dear Wolves,

Responding to a student survey and staff input, we have changed the balance between Wolf Time and Homeroom. This change will provide all students the time and support to meet our high expectations. Wolf Time now meets for 45 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This flexible time during the day helps Eastlake meet the various needs of all our students. Wolf Time allows students to access extra support from their teachers during the school day, as well as make up missed labs, assignments or tests. Wolf Time can also mitigate stress and help students balance their busy lives by providing academic work time during the school day.

Wolf Time will continue providing a lot of enrichment opportunities for students. Last year the World Language department brought in refugees from Venezuela to speak about their experiences. We accessed the student interest inventory in Career Cruising to invite individual students to a presentation on aerospace science from Boeing engineers. Counselors put on multiple workshops to help students with career and college planning. AP teachers used Wolf Time for final preparations before the test. We even offered yoga for students who preferred a calming experience in the middle of the day.

For Wolf Time, we use a sign-up program called FlexiSched. Using this website, students or teachers can make requests, and the school can track attendance. This upcoming week students will start making choices of where to be during Wolf Time.

Throughout the year, we will keep you posted on upcoming Wolf Time activities. Parents can also help by talking with your student about where they plan to spend their time, or simply just reminding them to sign up for Wolf Time sessions by Monday afternoon. Students can find information on enrichment activities via announcements, Facebook posts or from their teachers. To sign up for Wolf Time offerings, students need to use Firefox to access the following:

Website: Eastlake. Username: student email Password: Flexi(student Number)

Example: Flexi12345

Starting Wednesday, September 13 at 8 a.m., all Lake Washington School District students will be required to reset their Skyward Family Access password. The system will no longer automatically log you in once you have signed on to the Student Portal. This new password will be unique to the Skyward system and you will need to make note that your login ID is different than your Lake Washington School District login. This change will help to ensure access and enhanced security of all Skyward accounts in our system. Click here for instructions.

Eastlake Wolfpack Association Daily Bell Schedule Meeting Monday September 25th 7:00PM EHS Library

Eastlake Wolfpack Association (EWA) welcomes all parents, students and athletes back for the 2017/2018 school year! EWA is the "Umbrella" organization that provides member education, insurance coverage, tax assistance and a communication forum for over 30 academic and athletic booster clubs at Eastlake High School.

Attendance

The Wolfpack Association also plays an important role in various fundraising activities for the school booster clubs. Any funds EWA retains goes directly to help fund scholarships and support InvestED at the school. EWA's Board of Directors is continually amazed at the unselfish work and support our parents devote to EHS students every day.

An exciting initiative EWA is exploring this year is the establishment of an EHS Alumni Association and Sports/Academic Hall of Fame. Keeping the EHS community tied together - recognizing the achievements of our student, athlete and faculty alumni - increasing scholarships available for current students these are all goals behind the effort.

EHS PTSA Page

Our next EWA Member Meeting is set for Monday, September 25 at 7:00 in the EHS Library. Please feel free to join us to learn more about this initiative and EWA in general. It is only through the continued effort of our parents that we are able to provide this wonderful support! Thank you and...Go Wolves!

Auditions for the fall play, Moon Over Buffalo, will be Monday September 18th in the EHS Theatre after school. Sign up for an audition slot in c226

Unified Robotics

Unified Robotics is an inclusion STEM program through a 6-week after school club. It is designed to be fully student-led, so the staff advisor does not need to know how to build and program a robot. Students with special needs partner 1:1 with general education students to create a team and build a robot for the State Championship competition. For more click here.
