Diane Wolfe walks you through the steps, from creating a marketable product to distribution. All of the options available will be outlined, including the incredible potential of the Internet as a resource and platform for your work, as well as options for articles and manuscripts. Anyone serious about writing is encouraged to attend this lively seminar. This session is offered in combination with the seminar on marketing and promoting.
Grant Writing 101
October 13, Tues., 6-9:00 p.m. Olga Abrams HCC Campus ? Room 401A ? No Charge You will learn the fundamentals of writing a grant proposal, the basic step-by-step grant writing process from preparation through submission of a grant proposal. The instructor is a certified grant writer, grant reviewer, and grant consultant.
Electronic Notary
October 19, Mon., 6-9:00 pm Judy Evans-Barbee HCC Campus ? Room 412 - $65 Must hold a valid commission as Notary Public in NC. This course and passing a state examination allows you to be certified to perform electronic notary acts using Electronic Notary Seals and Electronic Signatures: 1) Acknowledgments, 2) Jurats, 3) Verifications or Proofs, 4) Oaths or Affirmations. You will be able process fully "electronic mortgages." The cost to be commissioned and get started on-line is very reasonable.
Basic Bookkeeping & Taxes
October 20, Tuesday, 6-9:00 p.m. Jess McLamb HCC Campus ? Room 411 ? No Charge Do you know your product or service upside down and backwards, but the numbers just drive you up the wall? Do you work really hard but always seem to run out of cash at the end of the month? This workshop will help you understand the difference between cash and accrual basis accounting and single vs. double entry bookkeeping. Other subjects include: payroll and sales taxes and financial terms. You'll get hands-on experience in preparing financial statements, including cash flow, income and expense, and the balance sheet.
