Rolling on the River: Ethics in the 21st Century – Cynthia Cooper and her team unraveled the fraud at WorldCom, one of the largest corporate frauds in history. Come hear her story and how it relates to the life of a South Carolina real estate practitioner who handles clients’ money and property every day. “She is an internationally recognized speaker on ethics, leadership, overcoming adversity, the current economic crises and recent scandals.”

Takin’ Care of Business: Compliance is the New Marketing (Vendor Management in Today’s World) –

Residential practitioners receive requests from lenders constantly asking for information and documents regarding their firms and practices. Sometimes the requests are a page or two and other times, they are quite lengthy. Where is “vendor management” of residential practitioners headed? We’ve got a star-studded panel including two lenders and the CEO of the American Land Title Association to discuss what we can expect going forward and opportunities for more streamlined management of these sometimes time-consuming inquiries.

We Built this City (On Rock & Roll): Community Building – Development for Small Business – This seminar will focus on the development of small businesses and will include SBA loans, community housing and development organizations and other public/private partnerships. Issues will include tax credits, grants and how to work with State Housing staff. This is an opportunity to help commercial practitioners better understand what public housing is, and what it isn’t, and to educate them on good topics for their professional toolkit.
