Free parking will be available for all delegates at the location for the duration of the congress. Please contact the Morphettville Racecourse on 8295 0111, or the SA IPA Division for further information on parking.

Delegate Presentation Notes

A comprehensive hard copy version of the presentation notes will be provided to all delegates as part of their registration fee. All delegates will also be provided with adequate notepads and pens for the duration of the symposium. After the symposium, delegates wishing to obtain presentation notes on a USB stick will be able to order them for a small cost.

CPE Hours

All delegates will be able to claim 16 hours of structured CPE hours.

Presenter Profiles

Andrew Conway FIPA IPA Chief Executive Officer

A former Australian Government Treasury Ministry Chief of Staff, Andrew holds the record of being the youngest CEO of a public entity, when in 2009 he was 28 at the time of his appointment. Andrew has represented Australia a range of International events including APEC, G20 and World Trade Organisation.

Andrew was awarded the 2011 Young Professional of the Year award, appointed an adjunct Professor of Accounting at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was appointed by the Victorian Governor as a Director of Eastern Health and in 2001 was awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal through the Order of Australia. Andrew's academic background and qualifications are in Commerce, Education and Commercial Law.

Dr Michael Schaper Deputy Chair Australian Competition and Consumer Commission

Michael's work has a special focus on small business, franchising, industry associations and business liaison with the national competition & consumer protection regulator. Dr Schaper was first appointed in July 2008.

A previous president of the Small Enterprise Association of Australia & New Zealand, he has also previously served as Small Business Commissioner for the Australian Capital Territory, chairperson of the ACT Small & Micro-Business Advisory Council and a director of the International Council for Small Business. In 2009 he was recipient of the "National Small Business Champion Award" by the Council of Small Business Organisations of Australia.

Michael has previously managed a community small business centre; been an adviser to government at both state and federal level; and held lecturing, professorial and dean roles at a number of Australian universities. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with Curtin University and a senior honorary research fellow at the University of Western Australia, and chairs the advisory board of Griffith University's Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence. He holds a PhD and a Master of Commerce, as well as a Bachelor of Arts. His latest books are Entrepreneurship & Small Business: Asia-Pacific and Governments, SMEs and Entrepreneurship Development. Dr Schaper is a member of the ACCC's enforcement and adjudication committees.

John Chapman Small Business Commissioner South Australia

John Chapman was appointed as Small Business Commissioner on 24th September 2014. The role of Small Business Commissioner includes alternative dispute resolution for business disputes, administration of a number of Acts affecting small business, providing information to small businesses and advocating on their behalf. He brings to the role extensive experience in public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Previously he was Chief of Staff to the SA Minister for Investment and Trade, Minister for Defence Industries and Minister for Veterans' Affairs Hon. Martin Hamilton-Smith. He has held a number of board positions including: ? President of Group Training

Australia (SA); ? Founding Director of Auto Skills

Australia ? the automotive industry's national training body; and ? Councillor on the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council.

Steven Leaney Senior Account Manager Xero

Steven Leaney is a Senior Account Manager at Xero and Chartered Accountant. He has owned and sold small businesses and absolutely loves using technology to create more efficient systems and processes.

His motto is to "automate the guts out of everything" and is passionate about any system which saves people time and money.
