The Principles of Safety Management© Series (PSM) is a continuing educational tool and training program for safety professionals offered exclusively through the Florida Association of Safety Councils and the Sunshine Safety Council.
Economic factors increase the importance of risk management functions and safety. With many companies downsizing, employees are expected to wear many hats, including that of safety professional. A successful professional must be able to recognize the broad range of factors impacting a company's exposure to loss and injury. Determining what is critical can mean the difference between profit and loss or life and death.
Graduates of the PSM Certificate Program receive a broad spectrum of safety management and loss control training. This training covers safety management techniques, how to collect and analyze data to evaluate loss programs, implementation, and proven cost reduction methods. You will focus on practical, job related issues, which provide knowledge and skills to be applied in the workplace.
Our online classes give you the ultimate in convenience, and are easy to fit into your busy schedule. You can work at your own pace and take the courses in the order you choose in the time increments that work best for you so it’s easy to fit into your busy life. You can take up to three years to complete the program and tuition is only $34.95 per course. To obtain the PSM designation, you must complete 50 credit hours of on-line training. You take 40 credit hours from 10 core courses and 10 credit hours from elective courses and these courses can be purchased one course at a time or in multiples

Just what is ergonomics anyway? Body mechanics, safe lifting, and back safety – all these terms apply. Technically, ergonomics is the science of fitting the task to the worker.
