These facilities will not be utilized unless otherwise instructed by Cadre or Battalion Staff. Carolinas medical center (CMC) is located along the western edge of the UNCC Campus.Capabilities: Most structures on these campuses have restrooms. CMC is a fully equipped hospital with 24hr ER service. In case of inclement weather, MS1/2s will move to the class room at Memorial Hall. MS3s will move to the vans or a designated classroom at Gardner-Webb (Cadets will take direction from Cadre and BN staff)Attachments/DetachmentsAttachments: No ChangeDetachments: None2. Execution: Commanders Intent: To safely and successfully conduct land navigation training, to ensure cadets are proficient in this soldiering skill.Key Tasks:Cadets will utilize their skills in map reading, point plotting, and orienteering to find a prescribed number of points, both during the day and at night.End State: The MS3Cadets are better prepared for the Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC). The MS1/2 Cadets began to gain confidence along basic soldering skills that prepare and develop them as leaders.Concept of Operations:(see Annex B for Training Area Map) All Gardner Webb cadets will remain at Gardner Webb for LabBasic Course MS1/2: All Basic Course Cadets will report to Parking Lot 27 on 25 Feb 2012 NLT 1200 for first formation and accountability. Immediately following formation, all cadets will receive Land Navigation refresher training at training area Black. Prior to beginning the day orienteering portion of lab, a safety briefing will be given followed by equipment issue (1 MRE, Compass, and eye-pro). Day Land Navigation will last from 1300 until 1700. Cadets must find 5 of 8 points to receive a “GO”. Night Land Navigation will last from 1800 until 2300. All cadets must find 3 of 5 points to receive a “GO”. Upon completion of Land Navigation, accountability for all equipment and cadets will be received, followed by an AAR and release from lab. Advance Course MS3: The Advanced Course cadets will meet at Memorial Hall (Training Area Gold) for first formation at 0900. At 0930 there will be an accountability formation and once attendance has been taken the Advanced Course cadets will be issued 2 MREs. Once all Advanced Course cadets have been issued equipment they will either load up on vans. All cadets should arrive at Gardener Web university campus approximately 1145, at which time accountability will be taken and the formation will move to the land navigation training site. At the training site the Advanced Course cadets will be given a comprehensive safety brief and site orientation prior to receiving a test strip and map. After all instruction has been given out and all Advanced Course cadets have all equipment the day land navigation will begin at 1300 and end at 1700. At the completion of the day land navigation all Advanced Course cadets will be accounted for and scores will be recorded. The Advanced Course cadets will have until 1745 to prepare themselves and eat prior to the start of the night portion of land navigation. Additional instruction will be given out pertaining to night land navigation and the Advanced Course cadets will have from 1800-2300 to find the points associated with their test strip. At 2300 all cadets will be accounted for and will move back to the transportation and depart to UNCC.
