RESPONSIBILITIES OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES
(Approved at AGM on 14 October 2007)
Chairman
Chair meetings of members and main committee
Recruit, retain and obtain donations from vice-presidents
Relationship with Club president
Other appropriate relationships and representation
Captain (with Vice Captains)
The captain and vice-captains should seek volunteers to assist with their responsibilities
All cricket matters including:
• captaincy of teams;
• co-ordination with, and supervision of, match managers (including those responsible for tour);
• recruitment and retention of playing members;
• nets and other practice arrangements;
• kit and other cricket supplies (match balls, playing kit, scorebook etc.);
• match reports;
• relationship with opposition teams (both on match days and in the event of cancellations, conflicts with cup matches etc.);
• co-ordination with those responsible for the ground;
• co-ordination with Fixture Secretary (including advice on new fixtures and retention of existing fixtures); and
• co-ordination with Secretary, Fixture Secretary and Social Committee on communications with players.
Post-match arrangements (pub)
Co-ordination with Social Committee on social events including player-related social events.
Encouragement of playing members to assist with social events, ground, pavilion etc.
Other appropriate relationships and representation.
Fixture Secretary
All matters relating to fixtures and hire of ground including:
• agreement of fixtures with opposition teams (after seeking advice from captain, vice-captains and other playing members).
• entry into cup competitions.
• recruitment of match managers and allocation to matches (including those responsible for any tours).
• printing and distribution of fixture cards (co-ordination with the Secretary).
• co-ordination of responsibilities of match managers (in consultation with captain and vice-captains and those responsible for the ground and pavilion).
• letting of ground (in consultation with those responsible for the ground and pavilion).
Ground
Those responsible for the ground should seek volunteers to assist with their responsibilities
All matter relating to the maintenance, preparation and use of the ground (including square) including:
• supervision of, and relationship with, groundsman;
• maintenance and preparation of ground (including square) both in and outside the season;
• preparation of wicket and ground for all club home matches and all lettings of the ground;
• acquisition of ground equipment (subject to approval of main committee and/or AGM);
• maintenance and security of ground equipment;
• compliance with any valid requirements of landlord;
• co-ordination with Fixture Secretary on scheduling of home matches and lettings;
• identification of duties of Match Managers and those renting the ground with respect to the ground and the communication of those duties to the Fixture Secretary;
• co-ordination with Captain/Vice-Captains/Match Managers (as appropriate) on the cancellation of matches due to inclement weather or other factors affecting the ground;
• co-ordination with those renting the ground on the arrangements for those matches including any cancellations due to inclement weather or other factors affecting the ground;
Co-ordination with those responsible for the pavilion.
Pavilion
Those responsible for the pavilion should seek volunteers to assist with their responsibilities
All matter relating to the maintenance and use of the pavilion including:
• maintenance of pavilion both in and outside the season;
• cleaning of pavilion both in and outside the season (including the disposal of any rubbish);
• acquisition and installation of pavilion fixtures, fittings and equipment (subject to approval of main committee and/or AGM);
• security of pavilion;
• compliance with any valid requirements of landlord;
• co-ordination with Fixture Secretary on scheduling of home matches and lettings;
• identification of duties of Match Managers and those renting the ground with respect to the pavilion and the communication of those duties to the Fixture Secretary; and
• co-ordination with those renting the ground on the arrangements for those matches.

Social Events
Those responsible for social activitiee should seek volunteers to assist with their responsibilities
All social including (when appropriate):
• Pre-season quiz night/race night (or similar);
• Dinner dance/party in Spring/Summer;
• Golf day
• Post-match barbecues;
• Vice-presidents match (lunch, raffle, tea etc.);
• Players events before, during and after season (but not normal post-match arrangements).
• End of season events including awards events, bonfire party etc.
Agree dates and venues for, organise, market and run agreed programme of event.
Recruit volunteers to organise, market and run specific events.
Co-ordination with Secretary on communications with players and vice-presidents.
