District GuidelinesWalton ProtocolDisinfecting ProceduresCCSD has provided very specific learning protocols for Daily Cleaning which is available at this link. will be adjusting custodian schedules and procedures to align with district protocolsMasks/ PPESocial distancing will be required of all students and staff in every possible circumstance.Masks are required for students and staff to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 when social distancing is not possible during the school or related activities.Face shields may be worn.Additional PPE in clinicSocial distancing will not be possible in most areas of the school.Everyone in the building is must wear a mask when not social distanced. Bottle fillers may be used.Request students to bring more personal supplies – colored pencils, markers, etc. so there will be less sharing. School nurses/clinic substitutes will triage sick student/staff during school clinic visits and follow district procedures when there is a sign of illness or injuryDesignate isolation area for individuals with symptomsEducate and inform staff/students/families to stay home and not come to school/work, notify school officials if they have COVID-19 symptoms, are diagnosed with COVID-19, are awaiting test results, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a confirmed case through DPH.Staff/students return to work/school per CDC/DPH guidance after COVID-19 illness or exposure.School Nurses/Clinic Substitutes will use standard and transmission-based precautions when providing care to students/staff.Create and distribute self-screening information to all parents. Post self-screening posters at the entrances to the building. Post self-screening information on rolling screens. Self screening checklist completed before coming to school.Each classroom will have signage regarding mitigation. All restrooms have posters regarding proper handwashing.When a student or staff member is ill and may have COVID-19, Nurse Sandy is immediately notified to begin the protocol process which includes notifying the DPHWhen Nurse Sandy is presented with a student/staff member showing signs of COVID-19, she will place them in the isolation room and follow district procedures. The atrium conference room will be the isolation room for the 2020-2021 school year.Attendance incentive for the 2020-2021 has been suspended. Please email or call Nurse Sandy, sandra.evans@, if your child has symptoms, has been tested and awaiting results, or you have received a letter from DPH regarding exposure.Visit the Cobb/Douglas Department of Public health website for the most up to date protocol information parents to create a pack of personal supplies- band aids, etc. for their child to limit trips to the clinic.Make each department a safety kit with band aids, etc. to limit trips to the clinic.Public Health SignagePost signage in classrooms, hallways, office spaces and entrances on how to stop the spread, COVID-19 preventative measures, good hygiene and school/district specific protocol.Provide physical guides to encourage social distancingPost self-screening posters at the entrances to the building. Students who arrive early may go to the dining hall to maintain distancing as possible.Classrooms will be arranged so all desks face the same directionDesks will be spread out as much as possible with each classroomNo large group gatherings including class meetings, pep rallies, etc. Large clubs may need to address feasibility of meetings as well as community service, etc.The information center will be re-configured and student use will be limited to provide social distancing as possible.We will not have school tours.Volunteers will still be allowed (and encouraged) in our front office and attendance office. Plexiglass will be provided; social distancing will be marked on floors and volunteer areas will be wiped down between shift changes.Stairways will be one direction and clearly marked.The wide hallways will remain two directional but smaller hallways will be one direction- to the right. These will be clearly marked for students.All student will report to dining hall or outdoor dining for lunch. There will be a maximum number of allowed students at each table.
