Job Advert - Forum Development WorkerSalary: ?25,439Salary Info: 21 hours per week ( flexible)Status: Part-time (permanent subject to continued funding)Responsible To: Strategic Development ManagerLocation: Home based , with travel in and around EdinburghAbout UsThe Edinburgh Community Health Forum (ECHF) is a membership and development body for Community Health Organisations in Edinburgh localities, acting to facilitate collaboration, information exchange and resource sharing to tackle health inequalities.With member organisations large and small drawn from a diverse range of charitable organisations, ECHF works to develop strategic partnerships and capacity building between the Forum members and public sector bodies. The RoleWe are seeking an individual with excellent communication , IT and organisational skills to join the Forum. Working alongside the Strategic Development Manager , your role will be to carry out the administration of the Forum and to promote the work of the Forum . Building capacity and supporting forum members through regular meetings and training will be key as well as effective communication with the membership and key stakeholders. The post holder will be passionate about helping to address health inequalities and have an understanding of community development . Being able to work on their own ,they will also need a positive, solution focused attitude and be adaptable to change.Role PurposeTo carry out the administration of the Forum, and to promote the work of the ForumTo build capacity and support the Forum members through regular meetings and trainingTo communicate with the membership and key stakeholders effectively and responsively Key ResponsibilitiesTo attend Forum and other key meetings, advocating for the Forum including a community development approach to tackling health inequalitiesTo keep up to date with the services and opportunities being provided by the member organisations To support collective and individual member organisation with current, relevant evaluation toolsTo carry out Governance responsibilities, including member and trustee record keeping, ensuring policies are current, that valid business insurance is held and to liaise with OSCR as requiredTo provide administrative support for, and attendance at, Forum Meetings and AGM, to include inviting guests, preparing agenda, booking meeting space (venues and online) and taking minutesTo develop and maintain the Forum website and social media channels with relevant news and contentTo identify and organise peer support opportunities for members, and also carry relevant evaluation of these sessionsTo administer the Forum’s financial activities including budget setting, paying invoices, monitoring, end of year accounts to the external examiner and liaising with payrollTo carry out regular communication to members and key stakeholdersTo provide practical support, signposting and advice to Forum MembersTo carry out appropriate marketing and networking to promote the work of the ForumTo support the coordination of Forum activities to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisationTo assist with the co-production of opportunities to tackle health inequalities using a community development approachSkillsOrganisational and administration Interpersonal Finance, IT, including Microsoft Office and wordpressCommunications, marketing, social media / digital Knowledge, experience and personal qualities(E, Essential; D, Desirable)Experience of administration in a charity, small business or other office environment (E)Experience of working in or with the voluntary, charity or community sector (E)Excellent verbal and written communication skills (E)Interest in health, health charities and health inequalities (D)Good organisational skills, able to juggle a range of roles and challenges (D)A confident self-starter and able to work independently (D)Knowledge of community development (D)Understanding of charity governance and legal responsibilities (D)Marketing to include social media (E)Understanding of outcome evaluation and logic modelling (D)Experience in training and development (D)For further information about the work of the Forum , please see : a discussion about the role , please email : Stephanie-Anne@.ukTo apply : please send your CV , with 2 named referees , along with a covering letter of no more than one side of A4 saying why you would like this job.
