Students may be admitted Fall, Spring and Summer, but SSE 5331 is ONLY offered in Fall and is a prerequisite to SSE 5946, the practicum. As a consequence, students should take SSE 5331 in the first Fall semester after being are admitted to the program in order to graduate in the fastest time period.(2) RED 6365 Must be taken as a substation. The other elective can be approved by the program faculty if no SSE 6932 offered or of interest to the student and needed to graduate on time, consult your advisor for list to substitutions.(3) No student may intern with more than two courses outstanding. Only SSE 6636 and SSE 4936 can be taken with Internship. (4) Registered by program as guest concurrently with SSE 6947– no tuition charged.(5) Pre-Service Internships are full-time, uncompensated commitments and are scheduled for one of the two last semesters. Apply in early January for the following fall and Apply in early June for the following spring. (6) Graduation. A separate application is required for graduation: Apply Sept 1 for Fall, Jan 1 for Spring, & June 1 for Summer. Course not clearly relevant to advancing one's knowledge and skills as a social studies educator require prior approval of the adviser, such as PED, Art, Music, etc. courses.SSE 6932 Special Topics (6 hours)SSE offers SSE 6932 courses when enrollment projections permit.
