My whole life I’ve been overlooked and under-estimated, and I always felt like I had to prove myself. I’ll be honest it didn’t always make for a lot of fun growing up, but looking back at it now I couldn’t be more thankful that I was an underdog. It taught me the importance of hard work, to believe in myself, and how to take complete ownership for my life. I learned how to go from the victim to the victor and how to turn my biggest weaknesses into my greatest strengths. Qualities that served me very well as I pursued happiness and success in this crazy thing we call life.?Who can I contact for more information? You can contact the FASC Executive Director, Dr. Mel Sohn at sohnm@highlands.k12.fl.us or call 863 – 699 – 5010.How do I register a delegation and what is the deadline.Delegations and individuals can register by filling out the attached registration form and sending it with a check made payable to Gainesville High School for the proper amount to: FASC Kickoff ConferenceC/O Gainesville High School SGA1900 NW 13th StreetGainesville, FL 32609The deadline to register a delegation is Tuesday, October 27, 2020 Suggested Hotel AccommodationsBest Western Gateway Grand4200 NW 97th BlvdGainesville, FL 32606352 – 331 – 3336Hilton University of Florida Conference Center Gainesville1714 SW 34th StreetGainesville, FL 32607352 – 371 – 3600Wyndham Garden Gainesville2900 SW 13th StreetGainesville, FL 32608352 – 377 - 4000FASC Kickoff Conference - Registration FormRegistration Information Sheet (please mail this with payment to Gainesville High School)School Name:Address:City:Zip Code:FASC District:Advisor’s Name:School Phone:()Ext:Contact E-mail:______________________________Number of Students:X $80 =Number of Adults:X $80 =Total Amount Due………………………………………………..NO refunds will be given after the registration deadlineShirt Size Totals (include students and adults):SMLXL2X3XDelegates will need Saturday breakfastYes_No# mealsDietary Needs: Please list delegate name and needs:____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Registrations must be post marked by Tuesday, October 27, 2020.Make checks payable to: Gainesville High School Checks and Registration Forms should be mailed to:FASC Kickoff Clinicc/o Gainesville High School, attn.: SGA1900 NW 13th Street Gainesville, FL 32609FASC / FASCA LEADERSHIP KICKOFF CONFERENCE 2019FRIDAY, November 6, 20206:00 – 7:15Dinner and Registration7:15 – 8:00Ice breakers and Introductions : FASC Executive Board 7:15 – 7:45Advisor Meeting: introductions8:05General Assembly: whole group (advisors and students)8:05 – 8:10Welcome by Dr. Mel8:10 – 8:20FASC State Project presented by FASC President, Coral Springs High School 8:20 – 8:30FASC 2021 presented by FASC Treasurer, Palmetto Ridge High School 8:30 – 8:35Calendar of events and FASC website presented by Dr. Mel8:35 – 8:45Parade of Ideas8:45 – 10:00Speaker 1 : Kyle Willkom10:00 – 10:15Closing and SnacksSATURDAY, November 7, 20208:30 - 9:00Breakfast at school site 9:05General Assembly: whole group (advisors and students)9:05 – 9:15Parade of Ideas9:15 – 10:15Speaker 2: Kyle Willkom10:15 – 10:20Snack10:20 – 10:40Workshop 1(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)10:45 – 11:05Workshop 2(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)11:10 – 11:30Workshop 3(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)11:40 - 12:40General Assembly: whole group (students)Motivational Media12:45 – 1:30Lunch1:35 General Assembly: whole group (advisors and students)1:35 – 1:45Parade of Ideas1:45 – 2:45Speaker 3: Jesse LeBeau2:50 – 3:00SnacksSATURDAY, November 73:00 – 3:20Workshop 4(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)3:25 – 3:45Workshop 5(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)3:50 – 4:10Workshop 6(students to classrooms / advisors to media center)4:20 – 5:30General Assembly:Spirit Activities by ???? 5:35 – 6:15Dinner6:15 – 6:35Ice breakers / Mixers : FASC Executive Board 6:45 - General Assembly:6:45 – 6:55Parade of Ideas6:55 – 8:00Speaker 4: Jesse LeBeau8:05 – 8:30Closing and Snacks ................
