The University of Maryland, Dept. PTRS has made the decision to convert from the paper version of the CPI to the Web Based CPI. APTA requires all students, CI’s, CCCE’s and ACCE’s to complete and pass a required APTA training session on the newly revised CPI through the APTA Learning Center before access will be permitted to edit the Web Based CPI.

The following is a list of instructions on how to:

a) complete the required APTA training session

b) login to PT CPI Web

Access to edit the electronic CPI will only be provided if you complete, or have previously completed, the training session!

I. PT CPI Training Session

What is involved in the Training Session?

The training includes five PowerPoint modules and a test. You can complete it in sections or all at once and you can log in anytime. After passing the test with at least a 70%, you will be allowed access to edit the PT CPI Web. You only have to complete the training once. You are not required to be an APTA member to complete the training. The course is free to both members and non-members and 0.2 CEU credits are awarded for successful completion of the post-test.

Difficulty in Accessing the Training Session

If you are having issues with the PT CPI training, the APTA Learning Center, receiving CEUs, or with receiving the Certificate of Completion, please contact APTA directly at 1-800-999-2782 x3395 or at learningcenteradmin@.

Now that you have completed the Training Session, you can access the PT CPI Web Site

II. PT CPI Web Access

Accessing PT CPI Web

Once you have completed the training, you will be able to access the electronic CPI. The web address to login to PT CPI Web is:

Your username is the work or personal email address that was provided to the university.

If you have logged into PT CPI Web previously, your case-sensitive password will be the same. If you have never logged into PT CPI Web or if you wanted to reset your password, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the PT CPI Web address ()

2. Click on the link “I forgot or do not have a password”

3. Enter your User Name in the box provided

4. Click on the Continue button

5. Check your email account Inbox for an email with further instructions on how to set/update your password

PLEASE NOTE: Make sure to close out of any internet browsers containing PT CPI Web prior to accessing the link in your email as this may result in an error when trying to set/reset your password.

If you are experiencing problems logging into PT CPI Web, please contact PT CPI Web Support at ptcpiwebsupport@ for further assistance. Please be as specific as possible and be sure to include your Name, User Name, Academic Program affiliation, and any error messages that were received.
